"She's suffering from kidney deficiency and she needs a transplant and the doctor said she has to undergo the operation as soon as possible, if not, she might not survive it".
"But I don't have the money, that's the main reason I'm working here. I don't want to lose my mum", I explained sobbing.
"Is that it?", he asked and I looked up.
"What do you mean?", I asked.
"Is that what has been bothering you?", he asked again.
Is he being serious right now??.
Does he want to make jest of me? I can't believe this!.
" Wait, why can't they start the operation already?", he asked again.
"I have to deposit at least half of the money before they can commence the surgery", I replied.
" Ok, how much is the amount?".
"Seven hundred thousand pesos", I replied.
"Send me your details, I'll forward it to you so that the hospital can start the surgery as soon as possible", he said.
I couldn't believe my ears!! Just like that??
"Sir??", I called to confirm I wasn't hallucinating.
"Forward your account details to me", he repeated.
I did so immediately. I couldn't believe it when I saw a credit alert of 1 million pesos.
I almost knelt down but he quickly stopped me.
"Ellen stop it! This is a public place, you're embarrassing me".
"Sir,I don't know how to show my gratitude but I'm sure I'll be able to repay you with at least,my 3 months salary", I replied.
"That's nothing, you don't have to pay me back", he replied and I had to cover my mouth so I wouldn't scream.
"Thanks a lot sir", I replied.
" Are you done eating?", he asked and I nodded.
"Okay then, let's go", he said and we went back to the car.
The driver took us back to the company....
★RYAN★
I parked my car and headed for the door. I pressed down door knob and surprisingly, it opened.
How come??.
Did i forget to lock it beg leaving? Or did someone break into the house?
All this thoughts ran through mind as I made my way into the house. I got in and met the pillows scattered all over the place.
Someone is definitely here.
I was about going further when someone shouted.
"Taa-daa", a young voice screamed from behind.
Isn't that?....
"Jordan!!!", I called turning back. Well that's my 14-year old little sister.
"Wow!!, is this you?", I asked twirling her around.
"Yes brother ",she replied with a giggle.
"You've really grown ".
"Is mum here?", I asked.
"Yes pumpkin ", mum said coming down from the stairs.
"Mum, when did arrive?", I asked surprised.
"Two hours ago".
"You scared me, I had thought some thieves broke into the house", i said stroking Jordan's hair.
"Brother, we are spending 2 days here, I missed you a lot", Jordan said.
"Really??, that would be great", I replied and mum nodded.
I don't really think this is a good idea, mum is definitely not gonna let me rest until I fulfil her request which is for me to get married.
"Jordan, go upstairs and I also wanna go freshen up", I told her.
"Nope, it's almost time for my favourite show".
"Ok then, I'm going up", I replied and headed for the stairs.
I got into my room and sat on the bed undressing myself, I walked into the bathroom and took a quick shower.
I stepped out with water dripping off me and wore my pyjamas before exiting the room.
I got to the sitting room and was welcomed by the sweet aroma of food. It was definitely coming from the dining.
So fast??
I quickly took my seat as my stomach grumbled.
"Brother, your stomach needs food", Jordan said laughing.
After a while, we finished eating and Jordan went to her room saying she was feeling sleepy. I was about going to my room also when mum called me back.
"Ryan, I need to discuss something important with you", she said.
I sighed in frustration. I thought as much.
I sluggishly walked back and took my seat opposite her.
"Ryan, I've been drumming this into your ears since, I need to see my grandchildren, I'm getting old already. Go and get a wife for crying out loud", she said.
"Mum, I've told you, I'll get married when the time is right, for now, I'm still searching, I replied.
"When will the time ever be right, huh, tell me", she asked.
"Mum!!", I called in frustration.
"Ryan, if you don't do what I want, I would be forced to do what you don't want ", she threatened.
"Mum, give me more time", I requested.
"No time is ever enough for you!", she said.
"I'll do my best", I said and headed upstairs....
I was in my room, wondering about what Mum discussed with me.
Why would she want me to get married at this early stage of my life? How old am I?
I don't think a 29-year-old guy is too old. Besides, I don't have any lady in mind, not anyone that suits my taste.
So how does she want me to get married? All these thoughts ran through my mind as I lay on the bed.
I continued thinking until sleep took over me...
