Chapter 2 Gladly Accept The Breakup Fee

She wasn't feeling sentimental-just curious.

Alexander stubbed out his cigarette in the ashtray and stated coldly, "I'm getting married next month. Take the money and disappear from my life."

"Married?"

Rose felt no waves of emotion upon hearing this. Instead, she chuckled lightly and teased, "I thought you already had a wife and kids! Well, congratulations!"

His eyes darkened imperceptibly as he stared at her in silence.

Thinking of that ten million, Rose was genuinely afraid he'd change his mind if she wasted even a second. So, she swiftly got dressed.

She hopped in front of him, draped her arms around his neck, and playfully kissed his cheek. "Then I'll gladly accept the money. Thank you, Mr. Williams! You're so good to me!"

Seeing the mischief and nonchalance in her eyes, Alexander felt an even greater sense of disgust. He shoved her away.

"You can leave now. And remember-disappear completely." His voice was low and firm.

"OK!"

Right in front of him, Rose pulled out her phone and, without hesitation, blocked his number and deleted him from Facebook. "Now you'll never hear from me again. Rest assured."

As she spoke, she fished her bra out from under the sheets and slipped it on. Then, turning her back to him, she tilted her head slightly. "Here, give me a hand."

His face remained dark, but he still fastened the clasp for her with practiced ease.

"I'm off then. I've got a late-night snack date with a younger guy-no need to waste each other's time."

She leaned in close, her breath teasing his ear. "Goodbye, sugar daddy."

Ignoring the storm brewing in his eyes, Rose grabbed her things and dashed downstairs.

She suited up, swung her long legs over her bike, and roared off into the night.

Under the pitch-black sky, against the howling wind, she accelerated-throttling nearly to the max. Effortlessly, she leaned into sharp turns, weaving through traffic with precision.

The deafening roar of her engine drew glances from surrounding drivers.

But she reveled in these moments of reckless abandon. It was the ultimate stress relief-letting all worries scatter with the wind.

Beyond motorcycles, she was obsessed with surfing, skydiving, rock climbing, and racing-anything that flirted with danger.

She loved the thrill of extreme sports just as much as she enjoyed straightforward, no-strings-attached relationships.

Wild, uninhibited, and utterly detached-she never let herself get tangled in petty emotions.

And yet, that night, lying in bed at home,

Alexander's face kept flashing through her mind. She replayed scenes from the past year-their countless rendezvous, and their final encounter tonight.

She actually had trouble falling asleep.

Though, considering the ten million, she figured her insomnia was probably just excitement...

For the next month, Rose had completely pushed Mr. Williams out of her mind.

If she wasn't off on an adventure with her extreme sports crew, she was out drinking with her girlfriends-living freely and unbothered.

Of course, she had a legitimate career too.

Passionate about animals, she had studied veterinary medicine abroad for several years. After returning home, she started her own pet hospital.

With her natural talent in the field, the business thrived-she had already opened three branches.

That afternoon, just as she wrapped up a mountain of work at the clinic, her phone rang.

Seeing the caller ID, her heart sank.

She answered, irritation lacing her voice. "What do you want?"
