Emilia sat at the balcony, reminiscing on what had happened earlier, she was angry at herself for getting an inch closer to the demon. For sleeping off at the middle of work. She wanted to scream and kick herself in the ass but couldn't do any of it. This is just a bad day for her, how was she supposed to face him from now on. 'Don't you think you are overreacting, nothing happened between the two of you, a small voice in her head said'. 'Of course it does, he fucking touched me without my consent.
He wrapped me in his arms and made a fool of me' 'you enjoy it, he gave you the comfort no one has ever given you and gosh he smells like heaven' the small voice said. 'just shut the fuck up, you don't understand' Emilia said in between gritted teeth. 'He has a strong arm, and one that can protect you, you sleep without the constant nightmares. You should be grateful,' the small voice said with concern. 'still doesn't excuse the fact that he touched me without my consent. I might throw up each time I remember that. God knows for how long I slept in his arms' Emilia replied, hitting her head against the armrest. 'Why would you want to remember such a thing? I guess it's a significant event to be---' Emilia shut her mind off before she could finish her statement. She wants to be in control and aware of what happened in her love life. She doesn't want a complicated kind of love but a simple one. Everything should be simple and soft. That's the kind of life she wants but she guesses life has surprises in stock for her. "Why have you been skipping your meals?" Adrian's deep voice resonated through her ears. Emilia looked behind and saw Adrian standing by the doorway, her heart skipped a beat. For how long has he been standing there? Did he hear her conversation? She couldn't fathom her questions, his face was blank and straight. Too bad such a handsome face has to suffer in the hand of this cold hearted motherfucker. "Has the cat caught your tongue? I demand an answer Emilia and a quick one at that" Adrian asked, his hands in his pocket with his eyes on her without blinking. "I will eat whenever I want to, I don't think that should be a problem Mr. Adrian" Emilia gave a short reply avoiding his gaze. She sure knows how to sound formal, how to build the wall of formalities between them. "Well wifey, I'm in charge of everything here, you eat when I want and how I want it. No skipping of meals. You are the queen of this empire for the time being and you ought to lead by example" Adrian issued his order word for word. "When the PC arrives, it is delaying the task at hand" Emilia asked, diverting the subject of discussion away from herself. If looks could kill Emilia would be five feet under right now. Adrian looked at her for a while before turning away. Few minutes later a staff member came to escort Emilia to the summoning ground, where the staff gave a report of everything they do monthly. Emilia held her laptop to her chest, as she walked behind the guy behind her. The basement was dark with heads hanging down from the ceiling. The only source of light was the touch light in the staff hand. The stench of blood filled her nose unsettling her stomach, beads of sweat forming on her forehead. Dizziness started taking over, she tried to stay conscious. She's fighting to stay in the light, Adrian will mock her if she collapses halfway. He's playing games with her and she knows it. She provoked him and he wants to pay her back. "How far do you need to go?" Emilia asked the staff, oblivious to the whitening of her face. "We are here already" he replied, turning to the left and he opened the door. The door opened widely, a ray of light pouring out of the room blinding Emilia's sight. She squinted her eyes to adjust to the light. She had walked in darkness for over seven minutes and the light hit her eyes. This man is a real psycho, she hissed before lifting her eyes at what is ahead of her. Emilia screamed loudly before she slumped on the cold floor. The staff was startled, Emilia was already on the floor before he could turn back and caught her. He ran into the chamber to inform Adrian of the situation. Adrian ran to the entrance, he couldn't let anyone lay their hands on her. He carried her and ran halfway to their room, instructing his staff to call the family doctor to be here in the next one minute. Adrian kept pacing the room checking the time, wondering what's delaying Kent, their family doctor. He only wanted to instill fear in her, so she would learn a better way of talking to him. His anger took a better part of him, he shouldn't have ordered her to be brought to the underground. Her face was white and her lips dry. Even men were shaken at the sight of the underground, the sight of that place commands loyalty, respect and surrendering of one's life to serve the empire. Kent dashed into the room, Adrian had already filled him on with the situation at hand before he arrived. He ran towards the victim and started administering treatment on her. "How long will she remain unconscious? Will she be okay?" Adrian asked with worry in his voice. It depends on her, there's nothing we can do than to watch her closely. She's fighting to be conscious, looks like it's a replay of what she has passed through before. It is shocking but approximately in the next twenty minutes she should be awake" Kent explained, he has never seen Adrian worry over anyone like this before, not even for Leonard.
