Hearing this, Nina sighed heavily. She felt disappointed that the man wasn't even ready to relent from his decision. From his response, it was certain that he might go on with the suicidal action later.
"Well, my apologies for that, but next time you want to take your life, you should do it where no one will see you so you could die peacefully without interruption," Nina declared, huffing as she turned to leave.
"Are you even going to leave me here? Gosh, do you get angry so quickly?" He said, grabbing her on her wrist immediately, preventing her from moving.
"If you're really going to leave me here, why did you save me then?" he added.
Hearing this, Nina turned and stared at him with a frown. "I'm not your guardian angel, Mr." she said and proceeded to leave again, but he held her back for the second time.
At this point, Nina was so infuriated that she almost lashed out at the man, but she was quick to hold back her anger.
"What do you want?" Nina asked.
"Don't mind my silly attitudes, please. I'm really grateful, and I owe you something for saving my life. What do you want? Just name it," he stated.
Nina sighed disappointedly and forcefully tried to wriggle free from the man, but his grip was too tight.
"Listen, Mr., I don't want anything from you. What I did is just basic etiquette. So leave me alone, let me go home; I have stayed longer here than expected."
The man let out a faint smile and breathed a sigh. He wasn't going to give up.
"You didn't even care to know my name. At least you should know the name of the person you saved. If not for anything, just for..."
"Can you just leave me alone, young man, or do you have anything else in mind?" She asked, pausing for some seconds as a thought came to her mind.
"Ohh, I see," she said, and a deadpan smile crept on her lips. "You want to use this suicidal act to fulfil your intention of gaining pity so you could strike the person who came to save you?" She said.
"Well, if that's your mission, you failed because you just met the wrong person."
"Come on, you're going too far. Okay, my name is Philip, Philip James. What's yours?"
"I don't think that's necessary," Nina said and forced her way out of Philip's grip.
"Why is my guardian angel so furious at me? I just want to know your name, nothing else," he said, following Nina as she walks.
After walking a few steps away, Nina stopped, feeling insecure.
"You're even going my route. That's my car over there; how about I drop you off?" Philip chipped in. He wasn't going to give up.
Nina sighed, running her fingers through her hair, as she had already gotten tired of Philip's silly attitudes. She had done all she could to make him let her be, but he's still hesitant to let go.
"See, I don't care what purpose you are here for, but bear in mind that if you think you can kidnap me then..."
"How could I kidnap my guardian angel when she's the one protecting my life?" Philip said, shaking his head frantically.
Hearing this, Nina didn't know when she chuckled. "You won," she said.
"At last," Philip teased, and Nina smiled.
They walked up to his car, and Philip opened the passenger's door for her. "Get in," he said.
Nina's heart swelled with pride as she entered the car, Philip's chivalrous act making her feel like a queen, worthy of such special treatment.
"I hope by now you're certain I wasn't disguising? Did I kill you?" Philip asked, wincing at Nina as they were driving.
"It would be better to focus on the road because we're not safe if you continue staring at me," Nina responded, and Philip laughed.
"I will do just that, my guardian..." Philip couldn't finish his statement when Nina gave her a warning glare, and he swallowed the rest of his words.
"Sorry, you forgot you never told me your name," he said with a humorous expression.
Nina's cheeks blushed. With every word of Philip, she feels an intense feeling.
"Sorry about that. Anyway, my name is Nina Pinkett."

Marcus let out a deep sigh as he walked out of the window of his office. He had been here for almost an hour contemplating his past mistakes while gazing at the city.
"Why is life so unfair? We reject what is meant for us and create our problems by ourselves," he mumbled, sighing for the second time.
He was about to take a seat when he heard a knock on his door. "Who's there?" He asked.
"It's Lucas, my Alpha."
Marcus walked to the door and unlocked it, and Lucas and Leo walked in. He has locked himself up here since morning.
However, Marcus quickly turned and headed to his study table without staring at them or asking them anything.
"Good evening, my Alpha. I must say my Alpha is enjoying this beautiful weather," Lucas remarked with a smile while walking up to Marcus on the table.
However, his smile diminished as Marcus turned and glared at him with stoic expression.
"I thought I warned everyone I don't need a disturbance," he responded gruffly, his tone dripping with disdain.
Lucas was taken aback by Marcus' sudden reaction. He turned to Leo for help, but Leo was also terrified.
"My... My Alpha, as your Beta and Gamma," Lucas said, his eyes going to Leo as he gestured respectively with his fingers before continuing his words.
"We decided to visit and know how you're doing. You've refused to eat since morning. Moreover, have you forgotten that you have an important meeting with the board of directors?" Lucas said, his brows raised as he spoke.
"Also, Mr. Philip had cancelled his meeting because he has something to sort out," Leo chipped in.
Marcus gaze turned solemn as Lucas concluded. "Gosh," he said. "I literally forgot about this meeting," he remarked and paused for some seconds as he went into thoughts.
"In fact, cancel the meeting. I'm not in the right mood for that."
"But my Alpha, have you forgotten that this meeting is crucial for the..."
"I said cancel everything!" he yelled, his expression cold and unforgiven.
"In fact, I want to go home. I'm done for today," he added, arranging his documents into his briefcase.
Marcus was still arranging the documents to leave when the door opened and a woman walked in without seeking approval.
She was dressed in an oxblood miniskirt, which has a slit that almost exposed her pants, a cropped top, and high-heeled shoes. And she has heavy makeup on her face.
"What is it?" Marcus questioned her.
