"Oh, sorry," He said when he realized i was standing behind the door.
"No worries." I opened the door all the way and smiled.
"Hey, Ava." He leaned against the doorjamb as his eyes fell from my face and travelled down my lips and further down towards my chest.
"I like your . . . shirt." He looked back up to my eyes. Her mouth was open very slightly.
"Thanks. Do you want to come in? "I asked blushing.
He shook his head. "No, actually I came by to see if you wanted to get lunch. It is free," He said quickly, and before I had time to answer he added, "I am paying.''
"What is this free-paying lunch place you speak of?" I quirked an eyebrow at him.
He laughed. "You just have to trust me. Come on, lock up and let us go.
I ran a hand through my hair, which was sticking up in every direction at the moment. His eyes fell to my lips and chest and it was hard for me to pretend i did not just catch him staring, but I glanced down to see him placing his hands in his pockets. He was wearing a white shirt and some cargo pants with some fancy slippers.
"Give me one second," I said. "I need to get my phone.'' I rummaged through my
belongings on the bed but i could not find it.
Nath plopped down on my bed and watched me. "No Phone ?"
"I can not find it."
He hopped up and went to a pile of my clothes near the closet and whipped the phone out.
"Here it is ."
I took the phone from him and placed it in my pocket.
"Thanks."
"No problem."
I quickly threw on another T-shirt because i noticed the one i had on was with a little stain, he smiled appreciatively.
"I like it. Ready?"
"Let us hit it, Nath."
We jogged down the three flights of stairs and Nath shoved opened the glass doors to the building. Walking in front of me, he threw his arms open and looked up at the sky. "What a great day!" He turned around and reached for my hand. "Come on, it is this way!"
"Should I be worried? How far is it? "I quickly asked with my interest piqued.
"It is about 10 minutes walk from here and you do not have any reason to be worried because you are going to feel good about this. I know you have not had anything to eat since morning so this will be very good for you. "Nath replied
We walked along, taking in the warmth radiating from the concrete.
"What kind of music do you listen to ?"
"I like to listen to classical music that makes sense.'' i said in between laughter.
"That is a nice way to say you hate raps.''
I sighed. "I just wish they did not make those.''
I detected a slight nod even though i did not turn to look at him.
"So, do you have a boyfriend? Nath asked which left me puzzled but i continued looking ahead without missing a beat.
"No, I have not dated in a while.''
"Just casual sex?" he grinned.
i blushed. "A lady never tells. What about you?"
"I had a girlfriend for a couple of years during my first degree but we broke up when she cheated.''
"You are kidding?"
"Nope, i wish i was."
"I mean, what happened?"
"She dumped me a few weeks to our three years anniversary.'' he said the last part under his breath.
"Did you guys have a good relationship?"
"Were you heartbroken?"
"I was very much heartbroken and fell into depression. i am still sad when i think about it.''
"Oh. I said looking shocked for a moment.
We walked in silence as I started feeling bad about asking him about his relationship status.
"Here we are. "Nath screamed out of excitement when we got to the food court.
"We are having lunch at the newly open restaurant downtown from my university accommodation.?
"Yep. So here is what we would do. You will eat something proper before getting chocolates. Make sure you eat as much as you can.'' Nath quickly added.
We sat down to order our food and we proceeded to talk to keep our selves busy before the food arrives.
I laughed as I scrolled through my phone because i did not want to say anything about my past relationships but i had to because he had told me about his.
"I was dating this guy but we broke up because his family wants him to be with someone else.'' I said without looking at him. I did get my heart broken and i never dated after that but we are still friends.''
We had only just met, yet i felt comfortable telling him stuff about my self i would not tell someone which was quite nice.
our food finally arrived and we ate and left. After lunch he, spent the whole day with me and a part of me wished the day would not end because it was the best dated i had ever had. I knew he was into me and i saw the way he looked at me and my eyes always were alight with happiness,
He took his phone out of his pocket to take a picture of us and to also capture this moment.
After our date we retired home for the night.
