Chapter 4 The Unseen Tension

ELENA'S POV

Wow, I couldn't believe my eyes when the driver told us that we had already arrived at the house. I was really surprised what a big house I would be living in at first. I found it no fun, but on my arrival here I was actually amazed and found myself interested in working around these big surroundings, but really I was afraid that I could get lost if I didn't take care.

"Mam, you can get down now. "I would take you to the designer to get dressed immediately if you don't mind" the driver said. I overheard him talking about a designer and immediately what hit my mind was that there was nothing special aside from this event. I was genuinely interested in knowing everything, so I went to my mom to ask her questions.

"Mom, what did the driver say? You are a designer. "I think there is something special that will be held here," I said.

"I think he just informed me that he would take me to a designer to get dressed. "I think a party was held to welcome us," she said.

"Wow, I can't really believe all this, you know. At first, it was challenging to come here, but I found joy on my first step here. "I am really interested in being introduced to everyone here okay, so mom, is there anyone who you know here?" I asked.

"Well, not really apart from my husband I really don't know anyone here" she replied. I saw a woman who covered her face with a black scarf, so I went to show due to my curiosity to ask her if she was part of the family or anything related to this family. "Miss, miss, can I have a word with you please just for one second" I kept calling to draw her attention, but it was really impossible because she was not Willing to look back, but I managed to see her face due to the wind which blew and shifted her scarf? I think she is in a bad mood. What would be the cause? She ignored me like I would. She didn't hear the call. What a bad day at first arrival. I hope that other days won't be like this.

"Ella, Ella". I looked in the direction where I heard my name and found out that it was my mom, and immediately I ran to her.

"Enough of your roaming about, okay, I think it's time to go in and go get changed immediately," she said. I was confused about her telling me to get changed, so I asked her.

"Why is it necessary that I change? "Are we holding any occasion?" I asked.

"Like you said before about the designer, I think that they held a party to welcome us. Okay, so I advise you to behave yourself and stop acting weird", she said.

"Okay then, so where are we going?" I asked.

"Look here" showed a direction where a huge and muscular man was standing. "He would be the one to lead us inside", she said.

The man who she pointed at then took a step and walked towards the entrance of the door, but he immediately went through the back to avoid the guest inside so as not to notice us. I was really curious to know why he did that, but he replied that he was ordered to, and he was taking the order as instructed. So as we walked gently and followed the man, he stopped at a point and handed me over to a young lady and told me that this was the designer that would dress me up and then walked my mom to hers. I really wasn't used to designing or making beauty because I never had a chance to do one.

"Have a seat, okay, so tell me what would you like to come up with?" She asked.

"I don't have any idea of how I would look okay or do you at least have any samples of what I would choose or something" I said.

"Okay, yes, I do have one" she said, and went and took a magazine and handed it over to me to decide the one I love. I really didn't find interest in anyone, so I asked her to just make me something simple and sweet.

"Okay, I should start now," she said. She was about to begin before someone barged into the room.

"What are you still doing? My father told me to come check on her. "Why haven't you even started yet?" the man asked.

"Sir, I am genuinely sorry I will be fast now. "Sir, I appreciate your patience with this," the designer said.

"You better be, but you should be careful to avoid painting her like a ghost," he said and smiled. From the way the designer talked to him, I think he is a member of the family and, possibly, his only son. I didn't get any chance to introduce myself to him before he left.

"Who was that?" I asked.

"Oh, you haven't been introduced to him. Let me say he is your step-brother. He is the only son of Mr. Sparks," she said.

"Wow, I thought as much as my step-brother. Well, he's not bad at being one. "I just pray he appreciates me", I said.

"Well ma,"

"Ahh, stop, okay am Elena" I said.

"Okay, I intend to tell you that he is really a good and caring man. He has no problem when it comes to loving. "It would be a lovely thing. "I'd think you could both get to know each other well," she said.

"Do you think so?"

"Well, I have lived with him for years now.I think you will love it when you get closer to him," she said.

"I pray so" I said.

"I'm done now. "You can go out in your dress," she said.
