Chapter 5 Fifth

CHAPTER 5

This question asked by Andrew kept both Amelia and Edward quite for a while.

" Now what will you say?" Andrew said as he looked at Edward.

" He'll tell you to go to hell!" Amelia replied

" I did not hear it from him tho"

Amelia looked at Edward, he looked at her back and slowly looked at Andrew.

" I'll tell you to go to hell!" he replied

" I must say, that decision seemed like it was influenced. But do not forget, the night will come and go but the money could change your lifetime! Now think if it, consider it carefully."

" We are positive okay?" Edward replied

" Well you have answered my question and proved your point, there is limit to what money can buy. It's late now but just as I hate to admit it I have a meeting I have to attend to. Do you mind a dance before I go, I mean with Edward's permission of course".

Edward moved closer to Amelia and wrapped his arm around her waist.

"I think it's best if you head on to your meeting. You don't want to miss your next billion." Edward replied

" It's understandable, I mean if I had her I would never let her leave my sight. Do have a good night and still consider my offer ".

Andrew left them alone and went back to his room. Amelia hugged Edward and he gave her a forehead kiss.

" Let us go to our room" he said

They got to their room and we're exhausted after having a long day. They both got changed and laid down in bed to sleep but they both found it difficult to sleep.

The words kept on ringing a bell in Edward's mind. He could not stop thinking about the fact that he has the chance to get more than he needed to complete his building.

Just as the thoughts kept coming it, he received a text message. Edward had just been fired from his workplace. Productivity wasn't so balanced so they had to cut off some of their workers and he was included.

This bothered Edward a lot and when he turned over to check on Amelia he noticed she was also awake.

"Why are you not asleep?" He asked.

" I just can't sleep"

" I've lost my job Amelia."

Amelia sat up straight with look of pity in her eyes. She knew at this point it was going to affect them both because if they both don't have a source of income and their new house will be used as a collateral which means they could loose the house too.

" We have to come up with another way to get money and fast!" Edward said

" But what other choice do we have, the poker game was a total failure!"

Edward paused and looked at Amelia. She did not like the look she was receiving from Edward hoping he would not say what was in his mind.

"Edward don't sa..."

" We have to accept the offer from Andrew" Edward interrupted

Amelia immediately stood up from the bed in anger

"Are you telling me you will let that man sleep with your wife just because of money Edward???"

" Amelia this is for our own good. What other choice do we have? It's our only hope"

"Our only hope to sell me off to a rich man"

" I am not selling you of Amelia, it is just for one night"

" I really can't believe you're saying all this right now" she said as she sat on the chair having a slight headache.

Edward stood up from the bed and went to meet Amelia. He knelt down in front of her holding her hands and raising her head up

" Amelia, I need you to understand what I'm saying. This money could do a lot for us. Imagine we get the money and we are able to build our house finish and win the contest. That is another benefit from this offer Amelia".

Amelia looked at Edward in the eyes

" Will you still love me even after?"

" I've always loved you, I still love you and I will forever love you Amelia!"

He stood up and raised Amelia up from the chair while hugging her

" If you do this, I'll forever love you Amelia. I promise".

Amelia agreed and they both went back to bed. Edward was able to sleep peacefully but Amelia still found it disturbing. It was the next morning and Edward was the first to wake up.

" Amelia, Amelia wake up!"

She woke up and saw Edward has taken him bath and dressed up already

" I have had the water warmed up for you already, just take your bath and dress up so we can meet with Andrew"

She stood up and did as Edward said. When she was getting dressed she heard Edward having a conversation with Eugene requesting for him to be his solicitor Incase Andrew wants to go back on his words.

He got off the phone and asked if she was ready.

" Yes I am"

They left the room and proceeded to Andrew's firm. Once Andrew was told that they were the ones who wanted to see him, he immediately left all he was doing so he could invite them into his office.

" You may see him now" the receptionist told them

They looked at each other, stood up and proceeded to his office.

" It seems you gave a thought to the offer I made last night now didn't you?" Andrew asked

" We both decided to take the offer only because of our financial needs, it's just a night, it's not like you will own her from that night." Edward replied

" We shall see about that then" Andrew said

Amelia was majorly quite trying to understand the fact that her husband was trying to make money off her. Just as they were talking, Eugene's call came in and he stepped out of the office to receive the call.

He was facing the other side of the office when Amelia came out of the office to meet him only for her to here Edward ending the conversation with

"Once it's done I will have the money all to myself"
