CHAPTER 4

"Excuse me?" They both asked shockingly

" I do not mean it that way, I mean can you lend me your wife for the game?"

Edward looked at Amelia and wondered why he asked for her. The whole crowd was looking at them and Edward replied

" Of course"

The whole crowd applauded but Amelia didn't seen to want to go.

" Go Amelia" Edward whispered to her.

She then moved forward and went to meet Andrew.

" Thank you for coming" Andrew said

" I don't understand what exactly you want me to do for you" Amelia replied

" I noticed when you and your husband were playing your last bet, you told him to bet on black but Instead he went for red. So I assume you might be a lucky charm."

They proceed to the table and had their seat. Andrew handed over ten pieces of those $10,000 coins.

"Place a bet" he said

She was nervous and wasn't sure which one to pick. Everyone was looking at her. Edward gave her a smile and said "you can do this"

" I pick Black" she made the bet

The die was rolled and everyone's attention was on the die to know where it will stop.

" Black it is!" The man I'm charge exclaimed

Amelia was excited that she had just won $1 million for Andrew. While everyone was rejoicing she stood up and went to hug Edward.

"You did it!" He said

He hugged her and gave her a kiss

" Thank you for lending me your wife. If you do not mind I would love to make it up to both of you this evening " Andrew said

" That is not necessary" Amelia replied immediately

" Let's hear him out first* Edward said

" I'm having a dinner at my suite this night and would love for you both to attend. A room will be made available for you two immediately"

Edward agreed and Amelia did the same. Andrew left their sight and assigned a butler to attend to them. They were taken to the suite and had their own room.

"Wow" they both exclaimed as they entered the room. It was like a palace fit into one room. The bed was so big and the room had gold decorations. They felt like they never wanted to leave

Just as they were admiring the room, they heard a knock on the door. Edward went towards the door and opened it.

" A package for Mrs Amelia from Mr Andrew" said the man at the door.

"The dinner will start in 30 minutes"

Edward said thank you and closed the door

" Amelia, this is for you" said Edward

Amelia noticed who it was from and said she would have it opened up later. Edward insisted that she opened the package that moment.

When they opened the package, it was a black dress with red petals. The same dress Amelia was admiring in the store were Andrew saw her.

" It's a nice dress" Edward said as he looked at the cloth and found the price tag.

" $1,000!!!" Edward exclaimed

" Amelia this gown is worth $1,000!"

She really didn't have anything to say because she knew it was because Andrew saw her checking the dress that was why he sent it to her.

" It is indeed a lovely dress, let's get ready so we won't be late" she said.

They both got dressed and headed downstairs to the hall. A lot of people were there and the ladies were dressed in black gowns while the men were dressed in black suits. Unfortunately Edward wore a blue suit.

"Can I have everyone's attention? Andrew said while holiday a glass of champagne

Tonight, we have come together not only to celebrate the contract we just bagged but also to celebrate Mrs Amelia for winning $1 million dollars for me".

Everyone stared at Amelia while making an applause. She felt uncomfortable and at the same time enjoyed the praises she was receiving.

"Please everyone should serve and enjoy their selves tonight" he concluded.

"Let's get ourselves a table" Edward said to Amelia.

When they saw a vacant table they proceeded to have their seats and eat their meal. Just as they were eating, Andrew came.

" You two must be so in love with each other" he said

"There's nothing I will be able to do without my Amelia " Edward replied while holding her hands and giving her smile.

" I must say, you two seem rather young to be married. Or am I mistaken?"

They both felt uncomfortable as he made that statement. Amelia stood up and said

" I think I'll have myself play the snooker game"

Edward stood up and followed her to play the game. Andrew smirked and said

" I shall join you then"

They go to the table and Edward was prepping the balls.

"Where do you see yourself in 10 year" Andrew asked

" Well, I won't mind being a billionaire like yourself " Edward replied

"That's funny, I mean money is not everything."

" Are you saying you're not satisfied?"

" No one is satisfied "

" Well, I am" Amelia interrupted

Andrew looked up at her

" She mean it?" He asked Edward

" I hope so." He replied

" Well the, you may not have won in Vegas but you're a lucky man! I have money, security and businesses but you have something that I just don't have" Andrew said as he looked at Amelia

" I guess there is limit to what money can buy" Edward replied

" Not many!"

" Well some things are not for sale" Amelia said

" Such as?"

" Well you can't buy people "

" That is naive Amelia, I buy people everyday "

" In business, maybe but not when emotions are involved!"

" So you are saying you can't buy love uhn?"

" Yes you can't!"

" Is it Amelia, I'll say that's a little bit cliche now isn't it?"

" I think Amelia is right, you can't buy love. It is a genuine feeling" Edward said.

" Let's put it to the test now shall we?"

" A test?" Amelia asked

" Yes, a test. Since you both seem so sure that love cannot be bought, I would love to put a test to it. Unless if you know your theory might fail".

" It can't and it won't. Let's hear your test idea out" Amelia said

" Fine then, Suppose I offer you $2 million for one night with your wife, will you accept?"
