Chapter 8 His Thought

Jackson's POV

A smile played on my lips as I wash my hands. Her expressions-defiance, stubborn and shocked, everything suits her well and made her even more beautiful.

After taking a shower, I entered my room and began putting on my night wears. I still don't understand my feelings towards her, the mate bond is the one controlling my emotions. But I need to find out about her motive, in accordance with what Madison had told me.

Not everyone could withstand an ill relationship all for love without having a motive. For many years at that.

The news about the throne rejecting her had spread across the pack like a wildfire. The maids and guards might have been gossiping about it close to her ears.

So I understand where her cocky attitudes was coming from. Also, I wanted to make her feel at ease. That way, she will open up to me and I'll be able to read her moves then.

All these years, I've successfully tried to avoid the mate bond but now, it was irresistible. I'll have to be around her, to see if she was working toward the prophecy or our bond.

If she wanted to carry out the task assigned to her by the moon goddess to execute me, she doesn't have to play the trick of making the throne reject her.

Her expression in the dungeon flashed through my mind, she doesn't look capable to do such things.

I thought of different possibilities of why the demolishment happened, Emily also occupying my thoughts. Not long after, I began to feel my wolf's presence.

He was upset that I was thinking low of our mate. If I don't stop thinking about her, he would take control of my body entirely.

I buried my face in my pillow, groaning to stop him from messing with my head.

But then, a thought crossed my mind. She had mentioned it many times that she was here to protect me, but from what?

Pondering about this, I was reminded of my dream. Agreeing to the fact that she was here to protect me, who could have stooped so low to make the throne reject her?

My head was begining to hurt, I rose up from the bed and decided to take another shower. All I have to do is try and be nice to her.

If she was here to execute me, I would love to see her try.

And that means that I'll have to be around her. I've lived for many centuries already, and if putting an end to my loveless-lonely life was a punishment.

I would accept that but I would love to see her do the job.

She claims to love, killing me won't be an easy task since she would definitely be hurt through the bond. I sighed deeply, rubbing my head as the water poured down on my head.

Getting out of the bathroom, my body was wet. Frown lines formed on my forehead when I heard a knock on the door. Moving closer, I sniffed the air and realized that it was Kiara.

Rolled my eyes and went to lay on the bed, I'm not in the right state of mind for her nagging.

"Jack, I know you're not asleep yet. Open the door right now!" She shouted.

She continued to bang the door, saying lotta curse words but I paid no attention to her.

The mistress title was for show, it annoys me she always tries to make it seem there are other things attached to it.

Then she kicked down the door.

I continued to lay on the bed without moving or reacting to her disturbance.

"Jack," she called, "Jackson!" Her voice was louder. I was praying on her behalf to the moon goddess for her not to touch me.

That would be my last straw.

"Jack, I'm talking to you!" She continued to scream.

It usually pisses her off whenever she wasn't getting the attention she wants so badly.

"You won't love to see me get mad at you. I need to speak with you, get up now!" She growled. I felt the bed deepened and I opened my eyes instantly.

She was about to touch me when I suddenly turned around, grabbed her wrist and flung her out of the bed.

Her back hitted the wall and I stood up from the bed.

"The next time you try this sh!t with me again, I swear on Alan's life that your two hands would pay for it Now, fvck out," I spat out coldly.

Her face was contoured with pain, she tried to restort but my expression wasn't smiling. I knew she was here because I went out with Emily.

"You hurt me because of her?" She wept pitifully, pointing her finger to her chest. I wasn't moved, only my hard glare on her as I watched her walked out of the room.

The room was naked since the door was brought down. I stood up from the bed before walking out of the room.

"Get the door fixed before tomorrow morning," I instructed the guards, heading towards Emily's room.
