Chapter 4 Getting into a routine

Paul watched his lovely wife darting around like mad. She went room to room to room getting rooms ready before she could fall asleep in bed after he kissed and fondled her. Knowing that was all they both had the energy for. She slept curled like a content kitten in his arms. Until her alarm went off at 4am how did this woman do it?

She to shower, while he cooked them a nice breakfast. While they are they chatted and he noticed she was making lists. Once he read them he understood a great deal was needed in town for his recuperation and a lot for the hotel.

He took a sip of coffee and asked. "How about I do the errands then when I get back I will help out. I am mainly healed up. Doctors say have maybe 2 weeks left to go. I am feeling bored and restless in the apartment. Let me help while I am here."

"Will that make your manager upset? He seems to think we aren't fit together." She said taking their empty dishes to the sink.

"I was wrong in my viewpoints when we married. Now I don't care who knows about our marriage. In fact I am making some calls today to void and make it so you needn't worry about those forms. As far as anyone knows I am here on a respite getting some time with my wife."

"Well in that case here are the lists. I always make sure which stores carry which items. Every list has the things we need and in what aroma's, tastes, design etc. now in the cases of stores 1-3 they're nice and already have everything placed in totes waiting paid for. Each of those are also low cost places. In the case of the last 2 there is the grocery store and linen spot. Those can be quite hefty so bring me back the receipts and I will make sure your paid back in full. I use the SUV going to town. It's quirky and as I drive it most I have a detailed book in there that will guide you shall any trouble arises. In the way back I keep a decent amount if parts and tools. If you get super stuck there is a ghost out there almost everywhere. If you see one and need additional help tell one of them they will get word back to us quickly."

She handed him the list and keys then took him in a deep kiss

"be back soon as I can. I have a few stops of my own so might be a bit later. Love you baby.

He put on a hoody, ball cap and sunglasses. The vehicle was old and in need of replacement. The Hotels stops were quick and easy. She gave detailed instructions on everything. He stopped at a cafe for a Americano and was helped in locating a jewelry store, flower shop and chocolate shop. All were on the way home. He chose a couple boxes of treats for his wife and their friends. He also picked out 4 different treats to put on the check in counter and 2 boxes of 300 mints each to place on guest pillows. Next he grabbed flowers for the apartment. Then re remembered the flowers he read that the ghosts liked he ordered a bouquet of each of those and some hydrangea for the front desk. His final stop was for 2 wedding rings. He spotted a set he liked instantly a simple yet pretty ring which looked antique but had been added to with diamonds. The original was a basic golden band with 3 garnet stones. He inquired the original ownership and found that Sarah, Rachel's great Grandmother was the original owner. After the war that revenged the area people looted the place. These owner had just gotten them in along with some other original heirlooms.

"Is there a way to make a dublicate set of the wedding bands. I know the Hotel and its staff very well and would love to see these irreplaceable artifacts back where they rightly belong. I will buy the lot if you could give me a date for the rings to be picked up."

"You're in luck. Had a couple who wanted a similar style but they backed out. A few tweaks and I can have them done in 15 minutes. Check first though."

Paul wrote out the check. Then made his calls. Mainly a long one to his agent. Letting him know how things were about to change. The man wasn't impressed but understood. He let Paul know he needed to be back to Nashville in 2 months to cut his next record and a mini tour that would be a mere 5 stops to make sure he was back to green.

"I can write a few new songs here is my guitar, vehicle and paper and pens are brought up."

"Consider it done." He was at ease now.

"Here you go sir. Let me help you bring these out." A few minutes later he was back at the hotel. Lola came rushing over to help him.

"I found an amazing contribution to this place and I thing Sarah and family will be over joyed when they see it By the way let me see your hand. He slipped on the replica ring that had been done in aquamarine rather than garnet. He slipped his own ring on his hand. Let's get these good gifts inside.

Sarah was there like a magnet when he called the house ghosts by name.

"Oh I never thought I would ever See the family jewels again. My the wedding bands. We had wanted to add those but never did. And the elegant porcelain and gold embroidered napkin holders and the box holding the utensil set my Richard had special for me to mark 20 years of love. We must put these in a special Presentation box. Say does the old Carriage house still have my Rich's Corner cabinet he made before he left? That would fit perfectly if only I had a nice bouquet to place on top like in the picture."

"I am ahead of you there grabbed you and your daughter's favorite bouquets." He said happy as a kid who just gave the best gift in the world.
