Chapter 3 Getting used to us

Paul woke up feeling bored. After 3 weeks he had healed a lot. He was able to do most things on his own. Sure his agent didn't want him making the news. But he regretted not getting to know his wife. He knew from her scent that she liked flowery scents. She wasn't a girly girl either. Which he liked. She had a fabulous looking body he wanted to feel more of. He noticed her checking him through the night. She typically spent mornings cleaning rooms and getting thing done. Certain days of the week she spent extended time out. He hobbled his way to the front to look at pictures and brochures.

He lost himself in the material too. He was deeply reading a proposal she was editing to look right so they could acquire money for a scientific dig site to unearth a mass pit grave to identify and provide appropriate burial of those buried there. They had some names they were looking for in that mound too. Lola kept mentioning a Sarah who was a full time resident at the Inn looking into it being her close relatives were buried. But that made no sense as he and Lola were the only full time residents. Could his wife gave a similar gift as his grandmother the family thought was crazy?

He found the houses history book. Seeing the time he began to cook dinner of stew and drop bisquits. Then began reading the books he had borrowed. The history was very rich. Everything stayed in the same family multiple generations and a couple wars scarred the grounds and families.

Multiple verifiable ghosts were on the grounds and throughout the city. He looked up to check the stew and biscuits. They would be done in ten minutes. He went to grab a glass of ice water. What he saw made him drop the glass making it shatter.

There in front of him was a neatly dressed woman that could've been a copy of ma Ingalls from books his sister loved reading. A pioneer woman in this century. Must be a ghost. He thought back to his exploring. She was Sarah.

"Hi Sarah... my name is Paul nice to meet you." He sat in the chair and awkwardly began cleaning the mess best he could.

"Lola your husband had a fright and needs help with cleaning." She didn't leave just sat watching g over him.

"Why didn't you tell me you needed water Paul?" She got him into the recliner he liked.

"Feeling useless and bored wanted to payback the help you have been giving me." He cupped her face with his hand.

"Our marriage might be a sham. But it's only fitting i help my husband when he needs the help." She replied.

"What if I wanted more than a sham marriage. Like wanting to share the same bed. Love each other and create beautiful babies together. I have started seeing things differently recently. Hell I can even communicate with and see ghosts."

She spooned out dinner and went to him. Helping him settle a bit into his chair.

She was stunned when he pulled her onto his lap and began kissing on her neck. He nibbled so seductively that she began feeling a bit of wetness ooze out of her pussy and she let out a low moan of pleasure.

Both forgot dinner and he followed her to her room. The first time hurt but she did her best to hide the pain. The love they shared was fast and frantic. When they were done he held her in his good arm. He had over done it because he needed her bad. His leg now hurt like a mother fucker now though it was a majority of the way healed. He went to get up to go grab the long cooled dinner, something to drink and some pain medication. Lola must've seen him since as she told him to stay put.

This was a change in Paul she never would have thought possible. She went to the storage closet and grabbed a spare hotel cart and 2 trays. She then returned to the apartment and reheated the meal Paul had made.

"He also needs pain medication." Sarah said after she appeared.

"Thanks Sarah." She said waving the stew in front of Sarah's ghostly form.

"Could use some herbs. But pretty good for a man." With that she left the room.

She grabbed the last 2 pain pills. She would have to make a trip to town. She brought the cart the bedroom. Paul was asleep after the long day. She took her dinner to her desk. She didn't want to wake him so she would eat and get some work done. She left his plate under a dome and put the heater element on low. That way his meal would stay warm. She set the medicine and drink beside him. She turned her laptop on and began some work. She had set up her computer desk so the light faced away from the bed.

She looked at her email for bookings and tours. It was a holiday weekend so they would be booked. Unfortunately she had to turn away 4 reservations. A potential of $800 per night. They were very short staffed as 4 front of house employees were out due to illness. And 2 cook staff were also out. This place was very hectic when they had full staff. It was pure chaos when they were short staffed.

They had a list of temp employees she could call. It was 7, still in the accepted time to call people. She jotted a note for Paul letting him know some hotel things came up she had to deal with. She called every number she had with no luck.

She texted Rachel, who said she could help in kitchen over weekend and help the next day to set up rooms. That still meant Lola had to put in extra hours. The wing her apartment was in hadn't had any bookings due to Paul being there. This weekend they couldn't do that. She grabbed fresh linen and cleaning supplies and began on the rooms off reception. She opened all 6 rooms at once. It was easier to do the same thing in each room until she was done. She ended up done at 10. Paul had been watching her from her apartment doorway for a hour.

"Love are you coming to bed?" He asked pleasingly.

"Yup let me put this cart away Paul."

she let out a huge yawn.

"Point the way. I will put it back, you shower and meet me in bed." He said then gave her a slow passionate kiss.
