Eva felt that this stroke of luck was a gift from above, and she wasn't going to miss any opportunity to indulge in life's pleasures! Having just finished her meal, she was now enjoying a fish spa for her feet, with a beautiful woman massaging her back. Only now did she realize how delightful it was to be wealthy.
Eva naturally ordered Josh, "Josh, change the channel for me. I want to watch 'Tom and Jerry'. After changing the channel, pour me a glass of juice."
Josh, who spent the night on the sofa and woke up with a sore back, still had to serve Eva. No one had ever dared to order him around like this before.
He cast a resentful glance at Eva but obediently changed the channel and brought her the juice.
The woman massaging Eva's back coughed in excitement, seeing her dare to boss Josh around like that.
"Hot milk with honey is great for soothing a sore throat." Eva said considerately.
After her massage, Eva learned that the hotel offered beauty and hair services exclusively for women. She decided to get a new hairstyle but couldn't make up her mind even after flipping through the hairstyle magazines.
"Josh, come over and help me decide. Which one should I go for?" Without lifting her head, Eva beckoned Josh over with two fingers.
Josh, having lost patience with Eva who had spent half an hour flipping through magazines, pointed randomly at one and said, "How about this one?"
"No, it makes me look old."
Josh pointed to another.
"Doesn't suit my face shape."
Another one.
"Everyone has that style, it's so unoriginal."
A wave of speechlessness washed over Josh.
Josh clenched his fists and remained silent, fearing that he might throw her out the next moment.
"Forget it, I won't change it after all, I'll go to work out instead." Eva said and closed the magazine.
Josh liked this suggestion. He desperately needed to hit a punching bag to vent his emotions.
In fact, Josh was too naive to think Eva would let him off.
What a joke it was.
While running on the treadmill, she asked Josh, who stood beside her, which running posture looked better.
After a while, Eva whispered to him, "There's a muscular guy at my two o'clock. Keep an eye on him and see if he's sneaking glances at me."
Every cell beneath Josh's stern face trembled, as if it was ready to explode because of his surging emotions.
"Josh, don't always think looking stern is cool. You'll end up with facial paralysis if you keep it up."
Later, Eva looked indignant. "See that girl with the purple headband on the right? Go ask her where she got her breast augmentation."
A hundred thoughts of killing her raced through Josh's mind.
By evening, Eva went to soak in the hot springs and watch a movie, finally giving Josh a break. She graciously allowed him to report back to the sofa by nine o'clock.
Josh stood by the office's floor-to-ceiling window, swirling a wine glass in his hand and overlooking the dazzling street scene below. His eyes darkened, and he made a silent vow that once this ordeal was over, he would make sure Eva faced his wrath.
The next morning, Josh was awakened by his phone ringing. Groggy, he groped for the phone on the coffee table and accidentally fell off the sofa.
Annoyed, he answered the call, "What's up?"
Albin's urgent voice came through, "Josh, there's a guest at the hotel having a heart attack. Our hotel's cardiologist isn't here, and we've called an ambulance, but the situation is critical."
"Got it, I'm on my way."
Just as one problem was resolved, another arose. Josh was about to leave when he remembered he had to inform Eva. Looking up, he saw her standing on the stairs, hair disheveled and eyes full of grievance, staring at him.
Josh instinctively took a step back. Did she say she was afraid of ghosts? Wasn't she scarier?
"Don't you know how to set your phone to vibrate?" Her tone was like scolding a subordinate.
Suppressing his irritation, Josh replied, "Miss Stephens, I'm very sorry, but a guest is having a heart attack, and I need to check on them."
"What? Go quickly!" Eva suddenly became alert, not even bothering to change her clothes as she prepared to go with him.
Her unusual behavior puzzled Josh until he saw Eva's professional first aid measures. Only then did he realize she wasn't as simple as she seemed.
She gently patted the patient's cheek, asked for olive oil to be dripped on the patient's tongue, and then performed CPR. After a while, the patient slowly recovered.
Eva sighed with relief, wiping the sweat from her forehead with the back of her hand.
Josh watched her reassuring smile as she advised the patient on precautions, her eyes sparkling and her voice gentle, like an angel.
The iron-hard string in his heart seemed to be softly touched.
After everything was done, Eva turned to meet Josh's deep gaze, suddenly flustered. "Oh, um... I've encountered this situation before, so..."
"Let me treat you to a meal, as a thank you." Josh said lightly.
Eva was taken aback. "Hmm? I've already enjoyed the hospitality of your hotel."
Realizing she wasn't as shameless as he thought, Josh continued, "Not at this hotel, let's go out."
Eva looked at him like a docile cat, then nodded woodenly.
