Chapter 3 Tempted by my mother, fell into her trap

BLAIR'S POV

I knew that deep within me I was madly in love with Ava. But whenever I thought about the fact that she couldn't bear a child, it made me want to stay away from her, especially since she kept lying to me.

Mom had run a test on her secretly and I found out that she was actually sterile. She couldn't conceive a child no matter what happened. How could she lie to me?

That day, Mom called me over to her house, but when I arrived there, I met Melbourne instead, and I was surprised. Since when was she and my mother close?

"Hey, Blair." She smiled at me as she waved and I waved back before taking a seat. Looking around, I realized that it was just the both of us in the house.

"I'm sorry, where's my Mom?" I asked and she looked around before shrugging as she took out her phone.

"She called me and asked me to come visit her but when I got here, there was no one here as well. Maybe we should wait for her a little bit." She suggested and I nodded in response as I took out my phone and began to scroll through my social media platforms.

"How's it going with Ava? Any good news?" She asked and I dropped my phone on the couch before letting out a sigh as I shook my head.

"She's hiding things from me. I found out recently that she's sterile." I replied and she let out a gasp of shock as she placed her hand over my mouth.

"She can't give birth?" She asked and I nodded in response. "And she didn't tell you about this? How long was she planning to hide it?" She added and I shrugged in disappointment.

"Having my child is one thing I've always looked forward to in my life and I believed that I would be able to get it with Ava. But how would I get it when she's unable to give birth? I'm beyond pissed right now." I expressed and she let out a soft sigh as she sat beside me to comfort me.

"It's not your fault. I don't want to be a homewrecker but why don't you try getting another lady pregnant for you? You and Ava can take care of the baby together. It's evident you really love her and don't want to leave her. So it's either you both adopt a kid or you get another lady pregnant." She suggested as she traced her fingers on my shoulders and I frowned at the suggestion she made.

"That would hurt Ava. Moreover, who would agree to have a baby with me without having access to the child? That's absurd." I replied when suddenly, her fingers were on my chin and she made me look at her.

"What if I agree to do that?"

"That's a bad idea, Melbourne. How would your sister feel? I can't do it. I'm not interested." I replied and she let out a defeated sigh as she moved away from me.

"She's the one who decided to hide her infertility from you. I am simply coming up with a solution that could help you and Ava. I wouldn't take responsibility for the child, once I give birth to the little one, the child is automatically yours. I just want to help my sister in every way that I can even though she harbors me." She replied sadly and my heart softened towards her.

"What if Ava isn't happy about it?" I asked and she approached me again as she gently caressed my face with her soft hands.

"Then she's an ungrateful wife. Everything you've done is for her to be happy. You deserve way better, Blair." She mumbled softly as she placed her lips on mine and I immediately pulled away.

"This isn't right... but..."

I pulled her closer and kissed her deeply while she climbed onto my lap as she ran her fingers through my hair.

It was right but it felt too good. She was wilder than I had expected and I found myself wanting more of her. I couldn't think straight and at that point, I didn't care about Ava's feelings anymore. Melbourne had everything I could have ever asked for and if she could give me a child, I'll make her mine.

After we finished our hours of fun and pleasure, Mom returned with a satisfied look on her face like she knew this was going to happen. When Melbourne left, I couldn't help the guilt that took over my every being at the realization of what I had just done.

I locked myself up in my room for hours while berating myself for falling into the temptations that my mother had set for me. I loved Ava and I never wanted to hurt her, but I had just cheated on her with her younger sister. If Melbourne eventually got pregnant, how would Ava feel?

There was a knock on my door but I refused to answer. The knocking didn't stop and I finally got off the bed to open the door. My Mom was standing by the doorside with a smile on her face as she made her way inside without waiting for my invitation.

"What do you want, mom?" I grumbled and she pulled me to sit with her as she smiled at me in happiness and satisfaction.

"I know what you did with Mel but I'm not angry about it." She started and I rolled my eyes at her hypocritical words.

"Like you didn't plan this, Mom. I know it's all your plan to separate Ava and me." I replied and she immediately feigned ignorance as she shook her head in denial.

"I didn't plan anything. Were you drugged or asleep when you slept with Mel? You were in your right senses and you enjoyed every bit of it. How is it my plan then? I know you're tired of Ava so I gave you Mel as a support. Imagine she gets pregnant for you, would people still laugh at you for being impotent?" She asked and I knew she was right.

She had set the trap and I willingly fell into it.

"You just need to make use of this opportunity. Keep Mel by your side. She's very useful for you. That's all the advice I can give to you as your mother. I'm proud of you, my boy." She said as she patted my back hard and then left the room, leaving me alone with my thoughts.

Am I really doing the right thing? It was all for Ava, right?
