Chapter 4 Strange feeling

Ivy limped her way back to the sore room, she called hers and her daughter's room. The sight he was presented with horrified her. For the moment, she forgot the pain she was in as she ran to her daughter's figure that lay on the floor in her own pool of blood.

"No! Lilly..." She called out and ran to her as tears streamed down her face. She fell on her knees and lifted Lilly up. "Wh- what happened to you? Who did this to you?" She asked in panic.

Lilly coughed weakly. Her lips were dry from dehydration. "It was Beta Bernard. When he kicked me." Lilly managed to say.

Ivy picked her daughter up and took her to the mattress they used to sleep on. She laid her on it. She watched her daughter with pity. As she couldn't heal her at the moment because of the harsh punishment she went through.

When Beta Bernard was punishing Ivy in the punishment room, he began with whiplash on her back. It resulted in her back tearing open. She immediately healed herself when he stopped.

But she immediately regretted that. Because it really pissed him off that she was healing herself. So he injected her with a mixture of wolfsbane and melted silver. The combination was quite poisonous to both her and her wolf. It would make both of them weak for the time it circulates in their system, which is like five hours. They will also hinder her from healing herself for the said hours.

After that, he made use of a silver knife to carve out some words on her back. She was in so much pain that she couldn't cry anymore. All her body did was shiver throughout the torture process. But when she saw Lilly in the state she was in, she forgot all her own pain and focused on the little girl.

After laying her on the bed, Lilly began to cough out blood. She looked weak and pale at the same time.

Ivy raised Lilly's washed out shirt. She saw the big round bruise on the side of her stomach.

'How dare he touch our cub? I am going to end him.' Rieka said angrily.

'Calm down, Rieka. Lilly needs help now and we cannot heal her. What are we going to do now?' Ivy asked her wolf in silence. She was still looking at Lilly with pitiful eyes while Rieka went silent, probably thinking of a way out.

Ever since Lilly began to shift, she had become weak. Most of the time she was less active and more observant. The situation she and her mother found themselves in also didn't help the situation. It played a huge role in making her play less and just sit and watch.

'I think I got what to do.' Rieka interrupted Ivy's thoughts. 'Tell her to try and communicate with her wolf and tell her to heal them. I think that would help.' She added.

'Let's try it. I really hope it works.' Ivy nodded and began to smooth Lilly's straight black hair. They had the same colour of hair as her mother and blue eyes as well.

"Baby, I need you to do something." Ivy said to her with a smile.

"Mommy, I am feeling so sleepy. Am I going to die?" Lilly asked as her mother helped her into a sitting position.

"No, baby. You are not going to die. I need you to talk to your wolf, Tala. Tell her to try and heal you. I know you both are weak right now. But I need you to try." Ivy said.

Lilly was silent for a while but she eventually nodded gently. "Okay, mommy." She said,

Ivy raised Lilly's shirt and watched

She saw how the big red bruise began to disappear gradually until it was completely gone.

Ivy was so happy. "You did it. You and Tala did great." She said happily and gave Lilly a hug. She separated the hug. "Now, cough, let me see if the blood is still coming out."

Lilly did as she was told. Nothing came out.

Ivy hugged her again. "You see, you are alright now. You are not going to die."

Lilly nodded with a smile. "Mommy, I am hungry." She said,

"Ok, baby. Get some rest now. I will come back later with something for you to eat." Ivy promised.

She was expected to go and prepare dinner for the pack. Beta Bernard hand instructed her before leaving her in a half dead condition in the torture room. She came to check on Lilly before she would go to the kitchen. Knowing Lilly is now doing ok, she can go and begin the work. When she is done, she will sneak some for Lilly to have something to eat.

**Few hours later**

"Hey, baby.... Wake up. I brought food." Ivy said in a low voice as she tried to wake Lilly up. Even though the store room they live in is far from other rooms and no one would hear their voices easily.

"Hmmm." Lilly hummed as she turned to the other side, not wanting to be disturbed in her sleep.

"I got you some bread and soup." Ivy announced with a smile.

Hearing what her mother said, Lilly abruptly got up from her sleep. Seeing the food with her mother, a smile spread on her face. She quickly sat up and was ready to eat.

Ivy tiptoed from the kitchen as she found her way back to the store she sleeps in with her daughter. She was glad that she finished preparing dinner without getting into any trouble. Only a few insults from the members of the pack and warnings to not get any of her blood into the meal. Since she was still covered in open wounds she couldn't heal herself.

Beta Bernard instructed her to always be by the side of his mate to attend to her needs. When she was done cooking, she went to attend to Zora's needs. But Zora said she was stinking up the whole room and sent her away.

Ivy couldn't be more thankful. She was able to take some bread and soup with her. Both her and Lilly say to eat something. It has been a while since they had something decent to eat. The last piece of bread Ivy was able to get was hardly enough for lilly. So she gave the little girl the whole thing to eat.

After their meal, Lilly finally went back to sleep. While Ivy lay next to her. She watched till her daughter fell into a deep slumber. She was about to sleep too when she had a very strange feeling in her guts and stomach. So did her wolf, Rieka. She had a mixed feeling of anger and anxiety.

Ivy sat up on the bed to talk with her wolf.

'Rieka, is something bothering you?'

'I have a really strange feeling. I feel something

is about to happen.' Rieka answered.
