Chapter 8 Abducted

Serena

"I..." My eyes widened at the sight of his eyes, and I nearly jumped in fright. But I quickly noticed something was wrong his eyes... weren't moving at all, they just stared into space.

Jeez, I thought he'd woken up for a moment there I thought, and I pressed a hand above my racing heart.

I slowly approached him, making all sorts of gestures to catch his attention but like stone, he didn't move an inch. He remained motionless.

A lump formed in my throat as I stared at him, this was the man who I was supposed to get married to? The thought filled me with disbelief, my breaths became shaky and my body trembled with quiet sobs.

I couldn't bear to stay in the room any longer, the weight of the situation crashing down on me. I rushed out of the room, tears streaming down my face. I felt like a dagger had been stabbed in my chest, a few hours ago I'd been happily thinking about how I'd get married to Derek.

And now? Now I was to marry someone in a vegetable-like state, spasms of pain wrecked into me at the thought. I felt like fate was playing tricks on me.

The sound of footsteps snapped me out of my despair and I looked up to see the other guard who'd driven me here. He approached with giant strides, his eyes flickered with a slight emotion... Was it unease?

"You've seen the Alpha?" he stopped right before me, his voice was low and quiet.

"I..." I coughed, clearing my throat. I nodded, "Yes I have," I gestured to the room. "He's inside."

The guard nodded, he made to walk past me when the sound of footsteps echoed again and he froze.

"Come with me," he hissed, he grabbed my hand in a death grip. "Now."

"What..." My eyes widened in shock and fear gripped me. "What's going on?" I tried to struggle but his grip became tighter. I bit back a wince as his grip stung me, "You're hurting me."

"If you don't want to get married to that vegetable you'll come with me," the guard's words made me freeze.

"Wait..." My eyes widened as his words hit me. "You're not a guard here," my heart skipped a beat. "Who are you?" I felt the hair at the nape of my neck rise as he dragged me away. Away from the approaching footsteps.

"Let me..." I wanted to scream but he covered my mouth with his hands. "Damn it," he cursed under his breath. " I can get you away from here," he whispered harshly, his words making me freeze again. "Don't you want to get away from here, I can get you away from here. Do you want to get married to him?"

I paused slightly, his words striking a cord but I nodded my head, tears glistening in my eyes. Vegetable he might've been but he was the only one that could help my family.

I was still shaking my head when the guard's hands covered my nose, pressing a damp piece of cloth over it. Oh no! An overpowering scent filled my nose suddenly and I felt my consciousness waver as a sudden weakness overpowered me.

It felt like I was falling into a deep abyss, the darkness enveloping me completely.

I didn't know how long I was unconscious when I was jerked and jerked back into consciousness. I felt a dull ache at the back of my head and my chest felt heavy.

Where was I? I winced as the bright lights stung my eyes, forcing me to blink as I tried to adjust.

"Hahaha," laughter pierced the air suddenly. "You're back so soon," a mocking voice rang out and I felt my insides freeze. I knew that voice. My heart stopped when I finally opened my eyes, staring at the figure a few meters away. Derek.

He held a bottle of bourbon in his hand as he stared at me, a triumphant smile on his lips.

"How..." I broke off, my tongues tangled in knots. I couldn't speak, couldn't find the words to guess what had just happened. The shock of everything jolted into me, a moment ago I was at the mansion and suddenly I was here, in this dreadful place. The quick turn of events left me at a loss.

My gaze brushed over the two men standing behind him, one was the guard who'd taken me and the other was a familiar face. He was Cynthia's cousin.

He... and others used to be Dad's loyal servants, but now they had taken sides against us. "How did I get here?" I whispered, my voice hoarse.

"You want to know?" his lips curled into a smirk. "I remember telling you about how I was going to bring about change, well guess what..." he raised the bourbon. "I wanted you to watch from the front seat.

My heart skipped a beat as I stared into his eyes, he had a crazed look about him. He was nothing like the Derek I thought I knew.

"What do you want with me?" I tried hard to keep my voice from shaking.

"I told you you belonged to me," Derek chuckled, sipping from the bottle of booze he was holding. His eyes narrowed dangerously, he had a glassy look in his eye.

"I offered to you a chance to be my mistress. Do you know the number of women out there who want to spend a night with me now that I'm Alpha?" Derek paused. I could barely breathe, the air heavy with tension.

"Derek I..." I wanted to speak but he cut me off.

"You rejected me," he snapped, his eyes reddened with rage. "Over what Serena?" his thunderous voice echoed in the surroundings. "That log of wood lying there in the Crimson Pack's Mansion?"

Now I confirmed, he knew about Susan's plan.

"But it's fine," Derek's voice lowered suddenly, and his eyes flashed with a dangerous light. "You're useful to me," he chuckled. He got up to his feet and my eyes followed him as he walked slowly around me.

"We're going to have some fun, Serena," Derek licked his lips slowly. "Real good fun."

Oh no! My heart stopped in my chest as I stared at him, the implications of his words hit me. This couldn't be happening.
