Chapter 5 THE JOB.

ROSELINE'S POV

I went into the room, I was so tired that I didn't have time to close or even look at the surroundings.

I fell on the bed, like a tree. Trying to recover from a horrible experience I had while in the woods. It had been almost a week since I had a roof over my head.

I usually found refuge behind a tree as I made my way out of the woods. But my mind was tormented by repeated nightmares of Logan finally recognizing me as his true Luna.

As I awoke from a deep slumber, I was interrupted by "Knock, knock, room service" sounds. I rose up to respond to the knock on the door.

"Good morning, madam, there's a delivery for you," the room service grinned as she entered the room with a tray of what appeared to be breakfast.

"Good morning," I said.

She stepped in and placed the tray of food on the side table. "A man with the name Mr werner, asked me to bring you breakfast, and here are some clothes for you to change too,

"Thank you, is that all" I asked.

She deep her hand into her apron, bringing out a lot of cash" he specially instructed me to give you this. "If you need anything don't hesitate to call," she added as she made her way out.

I gasped, surprised at the big amount of money on the tray. "Wow, this is a lot of money," I said, my eyes widening in amazement. Given my recent relationship with Logan, I didn't expect to meet an intriguing and generous stranger, particularly a male. My guard was still up, and I couldn't help but wonder what motivations drove this extravagant gesture.

*******

"Here are the dos and don'ts for working in this shop" Madam Linda said, instructively.

"So you can start when you are done reading it and you sign the undertaking, immediately" she said in her commanding tone.

It has been 4 months since I left the hotel, the money Wener gave me was enough for me to get an apartment. I was already getting used to human space, I soon discovered that it was not much different for the werewolf world.

I came into madam Linda's restaurant, in search of a job, of course I couldn't sit at home knowing, I now have bills to pay. After finalizing the paperwork in her office, I changed into the shop's uniform, feeling a mix of nerves and uncertainty. Serving customers was uncharted territory for me, and it showed.

The day was a disaster from start to finish. I struggled to meet customers' expectations, stumbled repeatedly, and spilled drinks everywhere. Luckily, Madam Linda wasn't around to witness my falls.

My coworker Susan became my lifeline, offering words of encouragement and support whenever I faltered. Her kindness and guidance helped me, even when I felt like giving up.

It was already a week into the job. "Hey, Susan I greeted her as she was busy setting the drinks in the fridge. I had already become used to Susans presence, as she was the only one my spirit, could resonate with, throughout my stay here,

"Welcome, you are a bit late," she said. "Yea, I overslept," I admitted, dropping my bag and heading to change into my uniform. Customers were already pouring in, eager to start their day.

But beneath my calm exterior, old wounds still lingered. Memories of Logan's betrayal and my subsequent banishment had begun to resurface, haunting my dreams and leaving a fresh ache within me each morning.

The pain was overwhelming, and every encounter with someone who resembled him filled me with a primal urge to lash out. I longed to erase the past and start anew in this town, but it seemed impossible.

Every blonde woman I saw was a painful reminder of Scarlett, and the memories I desperately sought to forget continued to taunt me, refusing to be silenced.

"Table 5 needs you," Susan said, handing me a tray. "What's the order?" I asked, scanning the tray's contents. "A cappuccino coffee, right away," Susan replied.

As I approached table 5, my heart skipped a beat. Sitting there, looking more handsome than I'd ever seen him, was Werner. I felt a surge of shock and wonder. Was I seeing things?

Before leaving the hotel, I'd tried to get his contact information, but it seemed he'd left no trace. I'd returned to the hotel daily, hoping to run into him and express my gratitude properly, but he'd vanished.

Now, here he was, sitting in my workplace, as if by fate. I couldn't help but wonder how he'd found me here

I stood there, frozen in surprise, the tray trembling slightly in my hands. Werner looked up, our eyes meeting, and a warm smile spread across his face.

"Hello again," he said, his voice low and smooth.

I felt a blush rise to my cheeks as I struggled to compose myself. "H-hi," I stuttered, trying to sound casual despite the turmoil inside.

I set the tray down, trying not to spill the coffee, and handed it to him. "Your cappuccino, sir," I said, attempting a professional tone.

Werner took the cup, his fingers brushing against mine, sending a spark of electricity through me. "Thank you," he said, his eyes locked on mine, filled with a warmth that made my heart skip a beat."Rose, if I'm right," he said, his eyes sparkling with warmth. "Where have you been? I've tried looking for you since I left the hotel."

I felt a surge of surprise and gratitude. "I owe you a lot, Mr. Werner," I said, holding the tray tightly with both hands on my lap.

"Yes, I wasn't in town," I explained. "And now, I work here. That's nice," he said, smiling.

"Do you know what? When do you finish work, so I can come pick you up and take you somewhere cool to talk?" he suggested, his eyes crinkling at the corners.

I felt a flutter in my chest. "That would be fine. I close by 6 o'clock."

Just then, Susan called out, "Madam Linda needs you, Rose!" I bowed my head slightly and excused myself, leaving Werner's table to answer the call.
