Chapter 4 MY SAVIOUR.

ROSELINE'S POV

The dazzling lights of the sun reflected on my face, causing me to shield my eyes from the damaging rays.

As I stood up, I felt like a newborn baby, my strength completely restored. I checked my body to see if there was any sensation of being touched, but to my surprise, I was basking strongly; could it have been the moon goddess? I quickly noticed my surroundings; it was on the road, but it was as sparse as an empty football pitch.

The men actually carried me to the road keeping me where I would find someone to help me and take me from here.

I prayed that I would not fall into the wrong hands because I was new to the human environment. Humans would ultimately murder me if they discovered I was a werewolf. I walked along a barren road, relying solely on the billboard's directions for guidance. As I walked, time seemed to stretch indefinitely, and the lack of passing automobiles exacerbated my sensation of solitude.

Just when I was about to give up and wander indefinitely, a car appeared on the road. I raised my hand, waving it in a frantic attempt to flag down the driver.

But as the car drew closer, I felt a familiar sense of despair creeping in. I hung my head in defeat, whispering a bleak truth to myself: "I have no friends here. Why would a stranger bother to help me?"

But the car eventually stopped and was reversing towards my direction, I hoped I could trust the person.

"Need a ride, come on, hop in," he said with a friendly smile. "Where are you headed? I'm going to town." He asked.

I slid into the passenger seat and closed the door behind me, enveloped by the sweet, subtle scent of his car. I remained silent, unsure of how to respond. I couldn't very well admit that I had no destination in mind, that I was just a lost soul trying to escape the woods.

He chuckled and put the car in gear. "Hmm, you don't want to talk, huh? You're the quiet type, I see." As he accelerated, I felt a sense of liberation wash over me. For a moment, I'd thought I wouldn't make it out of the woods alive.

As the scent of the bushes gave way to the familiar smells of the road, I caught sight of other cars whizzing by. Feeling a sense of safety wash over me, I let my weary head fall against the window, and before I knew it, I drifted into a deep, dreamless sleep.

I no longer cared where the man was headed. A strange sense of trust had settled over me, and I felt an unshakeable conviction that I was in good hands. The rhythmic hum of the engine and the gentle rocking of the car lulled me into a state of deep relaxation, and I let go of all my worries, surrendering to the unknown.

"Hey, wake up!" The man patted me on my shoulder trying to get me up for my deep sleep.

"This is my stop, my house is just a few blocks down the street, you can take a bus to your destination" He added, as he pressed the switch to unlock the door.

I pushed open the door and bowed my head in a silent gesture of thanks. Without a word, I slammed the door shut behind me, deliberately cutting off any further interaction.

I stood there, watching as he drove away, his car fading into the distance. The silence was a welcome relief, and I breathed a quiet sigh of gratitude for the safe haven of solitude. I had nowhere to go, I was in a new town, I sat at the bus stop with people dropping and going in, I sat till I was feeling sleepy, I laid there, I jolted awake, disoriented and terrified, surrounded by the stench of decay and desperation. Two homeless men loomed over me, their eyes gleaming with a sinister intent. "I will go first while you hold her," one of the men said, his words sinking in my head.

"What...what are you doing?" I stuttered, my voice trembling with fear. One of the men clamped a filthy hand over my mouth, silencing my cry for help. The other man had already undone his belt, his pants sagging open in a grotesque threat.

Panic set in as I realized the horrifying reality of my situation. I struggled to break free, but my limbs feel heavy and unresponsive, as if paralyzed by fear.

As I struggled with the men, "Get you filthy hands of her" I heard the voice of a strong man approached the kicking the man on top of me out,

He gave both men the beating of their life, they ran away, I sat with my hands wrapped around my legs, shaking in fear.

It was the same man who gave me a ride to this place. "Don't tell me you have no place to go. Are you lost or something?" he asked with curiosity in his eyes.

I replied firmly,"Yes I was a lost girl who have nowhere to go"

"Ohh so you can talk" he was stunned at the way my voice sounded, strange to him.

"You don't sound like you are from here, get in my car let me take you somewhere warm, it's actually cold out here. Besides, my name is Werner" he said, obviously waiting to hear my own name.

"Rose," I uttered.

We soon arrived at a hotel, as we got in he was given a key to a room, I followed suit like I knew where we were heading too.

"You can stay here for the night, it's cold and risky to stay outdoors Rose" He handed me the keys to the room.

Werner's voice was low and kind as he spoke: "I've arranged for some fresh clothes and food to be delivered to you. "You must be exhausted." I was taken aback by his kindness, wondering why this stranger would go out of his way to assist me, someone he hardly knew.

When I gazed into his eyes, I saw warmth and compassion that moved my heart. "Thank you so much, Mr. Werner," I said, my voice overflowing with genuine appreciation. "Your kindness means a lot to me."

Werner gave a sweet grin and nodded before turning to go. "Good night," he whispered, his voice fading into the distance as he went into the darkness.
