I'm not entirely disagreeing with my father, something is really off with me. And for this same reason, I'm now standing in the middle of the council room filled with elders again, being interrogated and judged.
"I need to go back to school, I need to go back. I didn't tell him I was leaving, he must be worried." I kept telling anyone who cared to listen, but they didn't care.
"He's there." Elder Quemilia of Viduela commented. "He's calling to her, and that's why she's restless." She stated.
"But she's not being this way because of the Senior Elder. This is all for that boy. Look at her, she's acting like she's sired to that human." Another Elder commented.
"Sired? A human can't sire a werewolf. A human can't sire anything. She's sire to the Senior Elder..."
"But that boy, he's just a feeble human, yet! She wants to go to him." Elder Deval reminded.
"Unless he's not." Elder Fecklon voiced in, turning all eyes to himself. "Send her back. And this time, I'll go there myself. I want to confirm that that human boy is nothing but a mere human boy." He ordered.
And as instructed by the Alpha of Viduela, I was taken back to campus after almost two weeks of captivity.
I didn't even return to my dorm but straightway went to Nicholas. My heart was literally beating in my ears as I tried catching my breath from the excitement of seeing him again.
Slowly, I knocked on the door instantly getting a response from inside. It felt like I have been waiting a millennium but finally, he opened the door and I could see his face again.
The surprise in his eyes when he saw me, this feeling is definitely mutual. "Cece? you're here? You're back." He said excitedly. "God! I've missed you." He states, hugging me tightly.
The moment I fell into his arms, I felt peaceful and still again. The restless storm that was brewing in my heart immediately vanished as he took me into his embrace.
"Where have you been? I've searched everywhere, looking for you. What happened? We had plans and then you... You suddenly disappeared. No one knew where you were. And you weren't picking my calls. I was so worried. Are you okay? Are you hurt?" He asked pulling away as he searched my body for confirmation.
"I'm fine Nicholas. I'm okay. Let's go inside." I suggested knowing that there were so many eyes on us right now even though the hallway seemed dead silent.
"Where's Luke?" I asked casually as we stepped in, closing the door behind us.
"He has gone home. Almost everybody has." He said sitting on the couch as I sat next to him, resting on his broad shoulders.
"But you haven't."
"How can I? I was worried sick about you." He replied kissing my head. "So where were you?" He asked.
I wanted to lie, but my heart won't let me. "I can't give you the details but I went back home. I told them about our plans for the semester break and they refused. So, I threw a lot of tantrums and wala! I came back." I demonstrated
"For me?" He teased.
"For you." I replied, getting a quick kiss on the lips.
We stared at each other smiling, when he started moving closer. "Is he about to kiss me? Like kiss kiss me? This could lead somewhere, I'm excited!!" My thoughts ran through my head as he pulled even closer to me, moving his eyes from my eyes to my lips, as if trying to get my consent.
"Can I kiss you?" He whispered with our faces just inches away.
"Yes." The word didn't drop before he swallowed my lips whole. This kiss was different from the first innocent kiss we had. This time, I could read him like an open book. He was full of emotion, longing, love and lust.
Shortly after, my back rested on the couch as he climbed ontop of me, kissing my neck. I tilted, giving him more access as our bodies moved in sync.
I let out soft moans as his teeth ran through my shoulder, planting kisses all the way to my shoulder blade. I became irresistibly turned on. Immediately undoing his belt.
This is happening. It's really happening right here on this couch. My body was overwhelmed with love and passion. His hands went underneath my blouse when suddenly, we were interrupted by a knock on the door.
"Cecelia!" Kalib called out making Nicholas turn to the direction of the door.
"Don't pay attention to him, he'll leave eventually." I stated drawing Nicholas back for a kiss.
"Cecelia!!" Kalib thundered more.
"You know what? Maybe we should stop for now. We'll pick up later?" He teased as he got off me, adjusting his clothes. Kalib is so dead. Why would he knock at a crucial time like this? Is he mad?
"Cecelia!!!" Kalib called out for the third time.
"I'm coming!!" I yelled back before going to open the door.
"Let's go." He instructed, glaring. Jealous much?
"Bye Nicholas, I'll call you later."
"Alright, bye." He replied.
Kalib didn't waste time dragging me out of there..
"Why did you do that?" I asked as we walked down the stairs.
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"Why did you knock on the door?" I stated clearly
"Because you were inside for so long, I got worried he might have hurt you."
"Liar! You have heightened sense of hearing, you knew what was going on inside. Why did you interrupt?" I asked again.
"Let's just go" He replied trying to not engage in the conversation
"Kalib. There's nothing between us anymore, so you can't just act like you're jealous."
"I am jealous!" He finally admits. "Cecelia I am jealous. Up until few months ago, you were mine. And then all of a sudden, some ancient werewolf made a claim on you, pushing me aside. And before I could swallow that, you're with some human boy doing God knows what.
If the Senior Elder doesn't mind you being with other guys, why not just return to me? We were good together. And I don't know if you know this, but I still love you Cecelia." Kalib explained angrily.
"I know. I know you still love me Kalib, but I love Nicholas."
"But why!!!" He yelled "What do you see in that stupid human?"
"Everything. Everything life has to offer." I retorted. "Can we drop this topic now?"
"Fine! The Elders are waiting. Let's go." He said leading the way.
•••
He took me to some seven star hotel where the Elders were all seated, waiting for me.
"Make him drink this. He must drink a lot of it." Elder Mohvet of Kiland instructed the moment I sat down. I took the substance from him, taking a little sip and spitting it out immediately.
"Wolfsbane?!" I exclaimed immediately. "Why?"
"The Senior Elder is tricky and powerful. But no werewolf can withstand wolfsbane, not even a Senior Elder and I want to watch as that boy gulps it all down." Elder Fecklon explained.
"But wolfsbane can weaken a werewolf up to the point of death." I said worried.
"Then it's a good thing that he's just a human boy, right?" Elder Malachi of Kiland added.
That's true, he's just a human boy. But what if he's not? If he's a werewolf just like us, the wolfsbane would weaken him and he'll be interrogated and then killed by the Elders.
Worse, what if he turns out to be the Senior Elder, it means my feelings for him weren't real. It was all because of the sire bond. And it also means he has been lying to me for months.
But I know he's a human, The tests all came out clean, and so I believe he is human. But why am I afraid? Why does a part of me imagine the worse?
I have always thought Nicholas and I won't work out because he's a human. But right now, there's nothing I wish more desperately than for him to be just a mere human boy.
