Chapter 7 Fighting A Lost Battle

I blinked furiously like a faulty bulb. It was like he had read my mind.

"Is that all?" Chase glanced at me before he fastened the ropes of his robe. I couldn't tell if he was irritated or just indifferent.

"Yes... I mean no" I whispered. He had left me with no choice but to use this way. Kelsi said this always worked if you wanted your mate to reject you. And so I hit him where it hurts the most. He didn't even look at me as he tried to pour himself one more glass of liquor. The words of the maid rang clear to me again. 'He drank because of me'

That got me confused. Why would he do that? I mean if I gave him trouble why he kept me here or even mark me. He had made me his mate even without the permission from the moon goddess.

I cleared my throat and looked around. I can't look him in the face and say this. "You have to reject me because I can't live with a hybrid beastly-"

In an instant I saw myself flying across the room and my back hurt. "Arrghh!" I yelped. Chase grabbed me by the neck and pressed.

"What. Did. You. Say." He gritted. His eyes all darkened. He was incredibly fast.

"N... N... nothing" I said whist struggling for air. Hr. still held my throat tight and I felt like I was turning blue.

"That was what I thought" he said in gritted teeth. He really looked like hybrid as he glared at me. Scary. Very scary. No wonder they called him that. No wonder he freaked out when I said that. Why didn't Kelsi warn me ahead of time? Telling me to say that was like a death sentence.

I was ready to give up. He was going to squeeze the life out of me. Then suddenly he stopped and freed me. I coughed violently into the crook of my elbow. My heart raced and my eyes watered. Literally I saw my life flash before me. Wheezing and trying to catch my breath, I turned to find him glaring at me. He was quiet and watched like an animal waiting to strike. He took one step towards me and I crawled back. He didn't again and I crawled back. My heart beat raced and my eyes went wide. What was he planning to do?

"Stay back!" I yelled.

"This is my room" he said and kept advancing towards me.

"Somebody help!" I screamed and almost immediately the door to his room opened. I turned to see my savior only to find out it 'a beta.

"Your highness, the lords are waiting" he said. Chase slowly took his eyes away from me and stared at his beta.

"Take her away and lock her up somewhere" he barked before he walked to his bed. Before I could say Jack, Two husky looking men, yanked me up.

"Arghh!" my back still hurt. "Wait where are you taking me? Wait! Wait" they carried me like I was some furniture that needed moving. None of them even said a word.

"Hello? Please guys we can talk this out. It doesn't have to be the dungeon" I pleaded but it all fell on deaf ears. But then I turned when I saw somewhere familiar. Then I realized they were taking me to my room. When I they got in, they put in the room and just before they locked the door, it clicked. I ran frantically to the door and tried to open it.

"Wait don't lock me in please" I begged. What I could hear was my door been bolted from the outside. I hit and clawed on the door, begging for it to be opened but nothing happened. All I could hear was crickets. Finally when I had exhausted myself, I sat. They would have to open this door because what will they tell Chamberlin, when he comes to find me. I sat on the bed and later on, I curled myself like a kitten and slept.

The first person I saw when I opened my eyes as a maid.

"Rise and shine Miss. Arya" she smiled like she didn't know I had been locked up. "Today is the moon stone sharing day for young werewolves. Chamberlin's name is on the list" and that was all I needed to rise from bed. I picked up my clothes and ran into the bathroom. I bathed in double time and jumped into my clothes.

"Have they started the ceremony" I asked the maid. She shook her head and checked the time.

"But any moment now, they would" she said. Other maids joined her in helping me get ready.

She and other maids fixed me up. My hair and makeup. When I looked in the mirror I almost had a whiplash.

"What? Why is my hair in this up do... like... like a Luna" I blinked.

They dared at the floor. "Tell me!" I yelled.

"It's the chief palace keeper" one said. She asked us to dress you like a royal"

"What?" I began taking them off. "Treat me like an Idiot and expect me to be your Luna" I said in gritted teeth. They grabbed my hands as I tried to scatter the hair.

"Please Miss Arya, if you don't wear that, we will be lashed" they begged. I looked at their worn out, tired looking faces and agreed. I let them finish what they started and then we were through. When we got to the hall, they had already began. I tried to take a seat somewhere else and a guard directed me that my seat was beside chase. I vehemently refused. I wasn't sitting beside that monster.

Few minutes later, the moonstones were shared and my son ran into my hands bearing his moon stone.

"Mum finally" he said and I hugged him. I took a look at the stone and froze. Something was written on it. Which was not meant to. The only people that had something written on their moon stone was royals.

When I read further, my world was flipped upside down. It was written, mother: Arya Lincoln. Father: Chase King. I grabbed Chamberlin and stormed off to Chase in his study. He was going to explain what nonsense was written here. I don't care if he strangles me to death.
