Chapter 4 THE PRANK WAR

Maya thought she had seen the last of Alex's mischief, but she was wrong. As she walked into school on Monday morning, she noticed that her locker had been decorated with colorful sticky notes and a sign that read "The Queen of rejection"

Maya couldn't help but smile as she ripped off the notes and sign. She knew exactly who was responsible for the prank.

Throughout the day, Maya found herself looking over her shoulder, waiting for Alex's next move. She didn't have to wait long.

As she sat in class, Maya felt a gentle tap on her shoulder. She turned around to see Alex holding a whoopee cushion, trying to stifle a grin.

Maya rolled her eyes, laughing. "Really, Alex?"

Alex shrugged. "Hey, someone's got to keep things interesting around here."

Alex held up his hands in mock innocence. "Who, me? Plan something? Never."

Maya raised an eyebrow. "Save it, Alex."
