Chapter 3 (Two sides of love)

"Well, I didn't say anything about getting you somewhere private, but if you wanna go, I mean, we can........"

Emily pulled him away gently. "Don't talk to me, just away," she said and went to the restroom.

When she returned from the restroom, she saw Kate, together at the VIP table, Kate saw her and waved her hand beckoning her to come over and sit with them, Emily was happy with the new arrangement but either way, she went to sit with them

"Here you go, sit down, Bob said drawing a seat for her, Emily sat down as Bob poured champagne into the glass and handed it over to her

"Here you go, Emily, don't be shy," he said, smiling... Emily had a surprised look on her face and immediately turned to Kate and said.

"Guess I need not introduce myself anymore, Kate you already did the introduction for me," Emily said while sipping her glass of champagne

"Come on, girl, it is no big deal," She said to Emily while smiling.

Just then, Benjamin signaled that it was time to get going; they stood up while walking out from the club, Bob said to Emily.

"So, how are you going home tonight, Emily? She ignored him and didn't say anything.

When they came Benjamin offered to give them a lift but Emily rejected the idea on the account that they would go home on their own

"Hey Kate, you know you should not be seen with someone like your friend; she's boring," he said in a joking manner while they all laughed it off except Emily, whose facial expression indicated the joke didn't sit well with her.

"Emily is late, I'm sure is gonna be hard, finding our way home let's allow them to give us a lift," Kate said trying to persuade her friend, she agreed and they all entered the car and drove off, in few minutes they stopped at Emily's apartment she got down thanked Benjamin and waved goodbye to her friend and inside deliberately ignoring Bob, who smiled while watching Emily makes her way inside her house.

WALTER'S MANSION

Bob enters his house, and he sees his blind mom is still awake and is seated in the sitting room; he goes towards her and lands a soft kiss on her cheeks.

"HeyMomm, how are you doing," he said

His mom took his right hand and kissed it like she always does "I felt I could wait up for you"

Bob smiled at her; she and his seven-year-old daughter, Izzy, were all he had left after his wife left him three months after giving birth to their daughter.

He was devastated being left by the only woman he ever loved and that too with a baby, he fought hard to fill every vogue in his daughter's life, a perfect son to his blind mom and a ruthless man to the rest of the world and a big-time player to women as he believed that the only side of love they were interested in was luxury and wealth, so he gave them what they needed slept with them and blocks them from his life.

"You know I'm always late mom, come lemme take you to your room" he gently takes her hand and takes her inside her room "There you go Mom," he said while pulling the bracket over her, he leaves her room and enters his daughter's room, there she was sleeping like an angel, his strength the only female he would give up anything to see her happy.

"Goodnight, my gem," he said softly, placed a gentle kiss on her cheek, and left for his room.

NEXT MORNING.........

Bob walks downstairs with his eyes fixed on his cell phone as the strong fragrance of his perfume fills the sitting room. His mother and daughter are having breakfast at the dining table, and as soon as she sees him, she abandons her food and runs to him.

"Good morning, Daddy," she said with her little face full of smiles"Good morning, my gem, how are you?"

Bob said while picking her up and placing a slight kiss on her cheeks; he put her down and headed to the dining table and greeted his mom. He helped Izzy sit down, and they enjoyed breakfast in silence but in a happy mood.

Emily enters her car to go to work and tries to start the engine but there seems to be a problem with the car as she's unable to get it to start, she frowns at the situation, looks at her wristwatch, and groans when she realizes she was already running late

"I wonder how bad today's gonna be since I'm already having a bad morning" she soliloquizes and comes down from the car, walking down the road to see if she could find a cab or something.

Bob packs In Front of Izzy's school as her teacher comes over and helps her get out of the car like she always does, but this time, she doesn't escort her inside. She stays back as she watches her go inside while waving and smiling to her dad.

"Mr Walter, do you have time to spare, I would love to talk to you about something please," she said while having a concerned look on her face

" Of course I do; I hope everything is fine," he said in a worried and curious tone.

" Well sir, Izzy seems not to be learning fine like her other classmates, don't get me wrong I'm not trying to be little her but I feel it would be best to help her get extra attention with her studies at home, you see in the school we follow roles of studies that's why I decided to let you know Sir," The teacher said in a calm tone as not to be misunderstood by Bob but he assured her he will sort things out for Izzy, he thanked her and left.

Bob sees Emily standing on the road looking worried.
