Chapter 8

"What.."

"Hmmm? Are you coming?" I swallowed hard when his breath hit the back of my ear, oh god. I can't breathe!

"What.. You smell like sweat.. me," I said, stumbling over my words. I'm not used to him being so close, especially since he was behind me, holding me. I didn't notice anything around us, all I felt was his presence and the loud beating of my heart.

I gasped when his nose touched my neck like he was smelling it...

"Not really." I felt my cheeks flush from what he said. I wanted to disappear into the ground because of what he did. He smelled me? Seriously?

"W..What?" It slipped out of my mouth suddenly, his soft laugh vibrated in my ear, and that was the only relief when he let go of my waist and stepped away from me.

"Shall we?" He said with a smile and took my hand before pulling me away. I just went along because I had no choice. Could I resist this handsome guy?

Of course not.

I'll just apologize to Harris later.

"Let's stop by my condo first," he said as we walked. I just smiled and agreed. I wondered what his condo looked like.

We walked for a bit, and soon we arrived in front of the building where his condo unit was located. The place was very close to mine-only two buildings apart.

"Good morning, sir.." The guard greeted him with a smile, and he just nodded. The guard looked at me and seemed a bit surprised but managed to smile and greet me too.

"Good morning too, ma'am," I nodded and smiled back.

"Morning.."

When we reached his unit, he let go of my hand to enter the password. I felt a little disappointed that he let go; it was a shame. He opened his suite and invited me in, and I almost dropped my jaw when I stepped inside. Without thinking, I walked straight toward the living room of his unit.

"I will change, just a moment.." I couldn't speak after what he said and just stared at the room. There was a flat-screen TV in the middle with a black sofa surrounding it, and a glass table in front. Below the TV were a DVD player and some CDs that he probably watched.

I sat on the black sofa and looked at the magazines there; they were all about food or different places to visit in other countries. I smiled while browsing through his magazines, it's too good to think that there were no men's magazines here. The thought of him reading a men's magazine here makes me sick.

I don't know why, but it annoys me to think that he would read something like that... Of course, it's normal for women to be involved in magazines that show almost no clothes.

I grimaced, geez. I don't want to think about him reading stuff like that. It frustrates me.

"You're ruining my magazine, Leigh.." I straightened up when I realized I had crumpled a page of the magazine without noticing. Was I too caught up in my feelings?

"Oh, sorry.." I said without looking at him as I fixed the magazine and put it back under his table. How embarrassing! I ruined something!

"Are we leaving now?" I stood up and turned, and I froze when I saw him. He was wearing a gray shirt and khaki pants.

"Let's go?" I blinked and bit my lip. He ran his hand through his hair, and I swallowed because he looked so hot doing that. Oh God, why did he get all the good looks when he was made?

"Leigh?" He snapped his fingers in front of me, and that's when I came back to reality.

"Huh?" I asked him, still dazed by how handsome he was, so I couldn't think straight.

"Let's go..." I gasped when he held my arm, and my mouth dropped open.

"Really? Are we leaving?" I said with a serious face while looking him over, he looked like a Greek god, really handsome with stubble on his chin and his lips slightly parted as he looked at me.

He nodded, and I bit my lip. I looked at him, so handsome and fresh while I felt like a mess, like a wet chick.

"I don't want to..." I shook my head and stepped back from what he said. He frowned and stared at me.

"Why?" He asked, surprised. I looked away and smiled awkwardly.

"Look at you, you look like..." I paused. "Handsome..." He was momentarily stunned but then laughed loudly, and I felt my cheeks heat up when I realized what I said.

Cailegh, can't you keep your thoughts quiet? Do you have to shout them out?

"I...I mean, you look like a person..." I covered up. I looked at him as he had one hand in his pocket but still couldn't wipe the smile off his face. "And me? Never mind."

"No, you look good..." He moved closer to me and held my arm. "Hey, look at me." Shyly, I raised my eyes to meet his.

"You look good, okay? Come on. Let's go on a date." I gasped and processed what he said. Did I hear it right?

"W-What?" My body tensed at his words.

"No repeating for the deaf, come on..." He took my hand, and before I could resist, he led me to his car. He opened the door for me, and I quickly got in while checking how I looked.

I was just wearing a plain white shirt, sweatpants, and running shoes. It looked like I was going jogging while he was dressed nicely and looked super handsome even in simple clothes. He got in after me, and as soon as he did, I smelled his really nice cologne.

"Buckle up, please..." I quickly found the seatbelt and adjusted it around me. He glanced at me for a moment before starting the car to leave; he put on aviator sunglasses and whistled while driving. I wanted to laugh at what he did, it felt like I'd faint from daydreaming in front of him.

Gosh, why is he so handsome?!

He parked in front of a restaurant shortly after and quickly got out. Before I could open the door myself, he beat me to it, he helped me down, and my smile didn't fade while we walked together. Once we entered, embarrassment hit me hard-seriously? I looked like a mess going into such an upscale restaurant?

"Trav..." I said softly as I held onto his arm. All eyes were on us now because of how I looked.

"Hmm?" He glanced at me while wrapping his arm around my waist.

"Can we go somewhere else? Please... I'm embarrassed." He stopped walking and held my hand, my world stopped when he squeezed it and smiled at me. "Don't be shy, okay? You look lovely even in your jogging clothes." He said sweetly as he led me to sit down and called a waiter to order.
