Chapter 8 Speak

Angela's Point Of View

"Hi! Why? I told him what I wanted! College girls need money more than you think!" I sang and danced as I stirred the eggs I was frying.

I turned the fried scrambled eggs into a bowl and covered it. I proceeded to take another egg, two, before doing the necessary ritual and routines my eggs pass through in my hands.

"Gia!" I yelled from the kitchen.

"What? Don't you remember how to fry a egg again?" She yelled back from her room. She is far off, I'm safe.

"A egg!!!?" I yelled.

"What?" She responded.

"What's a egg? Is that what you were taught in school, English class?" I asked, yelling loud enough so she could hear me.

"I don't know, not like that will make the egg stop me from eating it," she responded.

I added some bell pepper, crayfish, onions, and some greens to my unscrambled eggs.

"This is perfect!" I uttered excitedly to myself. After transferring my egg to a plate, I added my bacon and hot dog to the pan.

"Aren't you done?" A voice startled me, I almost got hot oil on myself.

"Oh, my bloody lost! Do you want to kill me? What if I had succeeded in getting myself some hot oil, what would you have done?" I complained.

"Get some hot chocolate and watch as your skin heals itself," she said smiling.

"I don't blame you," I told her before putting away the bacon and hot dog from the stove.

"That would be so fascinating, wouldn't it?" She asked.

"I don't think so!" I yelled.

"Ha ha!" She laughed as she picked up our plate and proceeded to the dining area.

"The one with the big bacon is mine, right?" She asked and I eyed her in response.

"Can't I ask a simple question?" She questioned me from the dining room.

"No, you can't because it's a silly question," I said to her.

"Whatever! Just come to the table and let us eat," she called out.

"Yeah! Whatever!" I repeated before leaving the kitchen.

"Hmm, this is so tasty!" She declared after digging into her meal.

"Tasty? Delicious?" I asked her. She couldn't get enough of her plate.

"This is far better than delicious and that is why it is tasty!" She proclaimed.

"Not in my vocabulary, tasty is equal to okay but delicious is mouthwatering," I told her as seriously as possible.

"Whatever! This is delicious!" She admitted. " A bomb!" She yelled like she was just eating my food for the first time.

"Yeah! I know," I said proudly. "There is a reason why people can't afford to know me and that is because of my skills in the kitchen," I boasted with my head high up and shoulder-padded.

"You are so prideful!" She said before taking her last bite from the plate.

"Whatever! I am so prideful and you can't get enough of your meal," I answered her before clearing my plate.

"So don't you have a gig today?" She asked as she cleared the table.

"I haven't decided yet, I don't have the energy to decide yet. I have a bad feeling and besides, the reviews from yesterday's gig aren't pleasant in any way. Those reviews from previous gigs have flagged my account red, so I need to be extra careful with my next gig," I explained before jumping from the dining room onto the couch in front. Call some ladies uncultured, I am just the boss!

"Really? That's so bad! For someone who is so polished and not uncultured," she remarked before walking into the kitchen.

I turned the television into one of my favorite shows, 'Fashion Dreams'. I had missed some episodes due to some emergency gig I applied for.

"You are still on this show?" Georgia asked as she entered the sitting room. Exhausted, she slumped down onto the sofa.

"Why do you look so exhausted? You haven't done anything meaningful today?" I said to her.

"Really? Will you say that? Bathing took away all my energy!" She admitted shamefully.

"Pttf! Aren't you ashamed of what just came out of your mouth?" I questioned her but she just turned to the television, ignoring me.

"Why will a show like this be so expensive?" She asked, curiosity written all over her face.

"Yeah! Expensive in knowledge," I explained.

"What? I don't get it!" She stated.

"You have to have a lot of knowledge in fashion designing before you can apply and if your knowledge is rich enough you will be picked," I explained, not taking my eyes off the show.

"Ohh, I see why you won't take a rest and keep taking every available gig on the app," she said with so much concern. "Tell me about yesterday," she demanded.

"Not now, babe!" I yelled I don't want to lose any minute of this episode.

"Come on, you can use one stone to kill two birds!" She pleaded.

"No!"

"Please!"

"No, Georgia !"

"Please, Angela !" She continued, she wouldn't stop until I craved in and that would only disturb my show.

"Okay! Geez!" I surrendered.

"It was good until the evenings when different beings of the world started walking into the bar. I got into three different quarrels with my customers," I explained.

"Why?" She said in shock, I know she was feigning that.

"Why! One had the guts to bring in a girl old enough to be his granddaughter, the other had the effrontery to tell me I was a dirty witch because I had black nails on and because of him, five of his friends refused to pay for their drinks. And the last one, who shouldn't have been born, inappropriately touched me. Like how wasn't I supposed to react," I explained further to her, my entire being was shifted from the show to my bestie who was letting me relive yesterday's anger.

"Oh, my! The only stupid one is the last one, how dare he?" She bellowed.

"Only the last one?" I asked in surprise.

"Yeah!" She replied simply.

"Really? What? So the grandpa and the dirty witch curser aren't worth it?" I asked in confusion, what the heck was she saying?

"Of course, they aren't! The grandpa is wrong and so is the other guy but they aren't worth getting on your nerves for," she explained and I just stared at her in disbelief.

"Maybe you don't get me," I said before proceeding to tell her the full details.

"Oh shit! No, man! You should have just called the cops on him," she scolded. "So you didn't do anything about his drink?" She asked.

"Of course I did, I changed the drink after meeting a funny loner in the corner," I explained.

"I trained you too well," she boasted and I only gave her a look.

"Why were you saying that shit before?" I asked her.

"I thought..." she tried saying.

"Forget it," I interrupted her.

There was a vibration from my phone, a notification, a gig notification!
