Chapter 2 THE SHOCKING TRUTH

CHAPTER TWO

I am scared that I am not the girl people know, I am not the bright shiny star people suspect, I am more of the girl no one notices or pays attention to, like I am invisible.

People see me as a star, a shiny star that always brings joy around her, that is always happy, but I am not. It's more like the opposite.

I am Melanie Wane the dumbest, saddest, weak person ever. Before now I always felt Incomplete like there was a part of me that was locked away, sealed deep inside me, but today I don't feel like that anymore, I feel stronger, more powerful, I feel in control like I am unstoppable.

" Melanie, get down here!!" Mom yells, snapping me back to reality. I stare at myself in the mirror, I look tough. Grabbing my school bag from beside me, I head out of my room, going down the stairs like I own the world.

" Good morning mom." my voice is cold, and harsh unlike me.

" Morning baby, are you okay?" she asks, concern itched all over her face.

" I am great, mom. Never been better." I am not okay. I can feel it, something strange is going on inside me. I can feel my body changing like a part of me is growing, a part I never knew existed.

This morning while looking at myself in the mirror I noticed my eyes got bigger, my shoulders broader, my teeth looked sharper, and whiter even longer, I look scarier.

" Melanie, what's wrong?" Alex, my step dad asks.

" Did you just growl at me?" Alex asked, making me frown. I didn't do that did I?

"Happy birthday to you sis" Julian, my little brother yells. He jumps on me from behind, making me giggle.

"Happy birthday to you too" I squeak.

Julian, and I both have the same birthday. But, I am older than him with two years, I am turning eighteen while Julian turns sixteen today.

" Well, you both are gonna be late if you don't move your butts out now, shoooooh, and happy birthday to you both. I love you guys so much." she says using her hand in demonstrating.

" Ewwww mom no L words we already agreed on that" I say with a pout, yeah I am not a fan of saying I love you to anyone and most definitely not to my mom, eww that's just gross.

" I love you mom," Julian says. Rolling my eyes, I give him a small knock as we walk out of the house.

"Ouch, what's that for?" he asked, blinking childishly, oh I forgot he is a child.

" Stop making me seem like a bad kid" I warn.

"But you are a bad kid, who doesn't tell their mom the love word?" he asks like it's impossible.

" Oh um hello, my name is Melanie. I am your sister. Nice to meet you too." I say sarcastically while holding my hand out for a handshake.

"Go away, you are just a weirdo." he murmurs.

"Why, thank you little boy. " I say, smirking.

"We are late, walk faster" Julian murmurs, we don't take the bus because there are so many mean kids there.

Julian's school is just a block away while I have to walk for about an hour before getting to my school. Sometimes I run after Julian gets to his school, and yes I still prefer it than to take the bus. That's just how mean those kids can be.

Today seems like a good day, but I still feel like something weird is going to happen.

"Yeah like being a pathetic victim of a bully" a voice suddenly says. I look around, but no one seems to care about my existence, so who freaking said that?

Well I am not waiting to find out, I look around just noticing that Julian already got to his school.

8:25am. Shit, and class starts by 8:30. I am going to be late. I take off in a dead run, looking around I notice everywhere is slow like they are all moving really slowly, I stop. The person beside me jumps in fear.

"How did you get here?" she asks, holding her chest while walking away giving me the ' such a freak look'

"Huh I ran, hello like a normal human duh." I am irritated, the guts of her damn

Ring!!!!!!!!!!!

What the fuck? When did I get to school? I looked around really confused.

8:26 am, How the hell did that happen? I was at Julian school a minute ago, and now I am here.

"Lookie Lookie who we have here" the familiar voice of my bully snaps me out of my thoughts.

Sabrina Wane, my worst nightmare, she bullies and torments my life. Yea I am a victim of bullying and it's horrible. I can stand Sabrina, but there are three while I am just one. It's not a fair fight.

They call themselves the SMS Girls.

I dislike them a lot, they make school a nightmare for me.

" Aahhh!!!" I scream, my cheek burns from the slap Sabrina just gave me, my eyes water.

" How dare you not reply to me?" she screams like the maniac that she is.

"What do you want me to say?" I ask meekly only to receive another ear splitting slap, tears run down my eyes.

" Don't you dare talk back at me" she yells again by now students begins to gather, some laughing while some taking pictures as usual.

" But....." she didn't let me finish before slapping me again.

I fell to the ground crying hard as she and her gang pounced on me. What I have done to her this morning is still unknown to me.

"Weak, pathetic loser," I hear the same voice again and this time I agree.

" Sabrina, that's enough." a deep voice roars angrily.

" Oh please leave me, let me deal with this bitch." Sabrina hollers still kicking and punching me not minding who said it.

"Aaaaaaah!!!" she screams as someone drags her hair then pushes her to the floor.

" Oh my God!!!!"

" He defended her."

" Oh, Bion my love,"

" I am so jealous of her."

"I wish I were the one."

Students made different comments making me wonder who saved or rather defended me, I looked up only to get the shock of my life. It was Bion Anaxagoras the most handsome, strongest and richest guy in the whole of Desire Hills High School.

"Oh my gosh, I can't believe this" I murmur, shocked to my bones.

" I said that's enough" he yells louder this time.

What the hell, he just defended me, why? Everyone was pointing at me as I run to the restroom

I must be crazy, did that really happen?

"Oh my God, what's going on? He has never done that before so why?" I ask my reflection in the mirror. I am confused as to why he did that? I was so lost in thought I didn't know when someone entered.

"Talking to yourself is lame just ask me instead. " a voice startled me. I spun around quickly.

Bion Anaxagoras.

"Fuck, are you crazy? This is a female toilet." I yell.

"So?" he asked his face scrunched up, I tense all of a sudden this is Bion, Bion fucking Anaxagoras.

He looks hot as usual, dressed in his signature blue jeans, white see through singlet covered with a leather jacket. His hair is tousled like he ran his hair through it, his green eyes look mesmerising.

"Nothing, but why?" I ask, the words choke in my mouth. I clear my throat.

Act normal you idiot.

"Why what?" he replies, a sly smirk playing on his lips.

" Why defend me? We have been in this school for years now, not once have you tried to defend me so why? Why do it now?" I ask in tears, he walks to me. He wipes my tears with is thumb.

"Because you are my mate" he growls.

" What ? How do you mean mate? If I am correct only supernatural use that word, so please what do you mean?" I whisper yell

" Oh you know about the supernatural?" he asks, his smirk growing.

"Yeah, wolves, vampires, witches, those sorts of things we read in books, and movies that are common everywhere, but doesn't make it real okay?" I reply, almost yelling.

I have read a number of supernatural books, watched lots of movies too, but I don't think they are real, right?

" Oh, they are real alright." he whispers.

I need to stop thinking aloud.

" They are real, and you are one of them," he adds.

Shock sizzles through me like an earthquake, how is that possible? I am just a normal girl with so many self issues. I have no power, what is he saying?

" I think you are mistaken" I shake my head, backing away from the sink.

"Hey, calm down okay? let's talk"

" No, I don't want to calm down," I yell at him.

"How can I be supernatural, I am just---me." I say, looking confused.

What the hell am I even saying? Stuff like that doesn't exist.

"I don't know what you are playing at, but there is nothing like Werewolves or shit like that. Go find someone else to bother." I huff in annoyance.

" Stay the hell away from me. I don't believe you" I yell when he tries to move closer to me.

It can't be true. What a sick joke. I need to head to class, I don't have this time. I turn pushing him aside. I try to run out.

It happened so fast, I was trying to get out of the restroom. The next thing I remember, he grabs my hand, and pulls me back. I turn only to get the shock of my life.

"OH MY GOD!!!!!!!" I scream so loud.
