Chapter 6 A LEADER HAS BEEN FOUND

General

After all these years the heir and successor has been seen and we were finally going to retrieve him not until we saw a blood-bath all over the road to our destination, quite irritable and unpleasant to the eyes, flies humming and birds feeding over the decaying bodies on the ground. The bodies looked like they have been like this for a week. This bodies weren't just any bodies, they were demon bodies.

"Hold it, nobody moves. Something unnatural happened here something of the supernatural," I said, lifting my fist in the air, a silent gesture tellng them to stop.

"If you step on this decaying bodies, your soul will be forever trapped with the soul of whatever demon you step on in hell." I said, explaining even more.

"Commander what do you think might have happened here? Do you think an army slew this demons?" a soldier asked.

I smiled at his question and the smile turned into a loud laugh. There's only thing that could have possibly happened.

"Commander what's so funny?" my assistant commandant asked.

"Because this was no army, but a five-star general. A LEADER HAS BEEN FOUND!!!!" I replied all smiling.

"I don't understand, what do you mean, there has never been a five-star general ever since the death of lord Adline." The assistant commandant said looking confused after hearing what I had just told him.

"What's going on? What do you mean Commander?" They all started asking.

Just as I was trying to pacify them, my eyes caught sight of someone who was moving amongst the dead demons laying on the floor.

The person was trying to stand up over and over again and keeps on falling back. I squinted my eyes to see who it was, it looked so much like lionel. He finally stood up looking towards our direction using my arm to block the sun ray that was probably almost blinding for him.

He started walking towards our direction, looking all around himself, he look confused. He was probably wondering what happened, I mean he doesn't even know what powers he possess inside, so I understand how confused he must be.

I had questions, How did he get here? How did he release such power, capable enough to slay more than a thousand demons? A lot of questions running wild in my mind.

"Commander, there's a survivor demon should we kill it or rather capture it for the witch doctor Amelia." one the soldiers said pointing a gun at Lionel

"Hold your fire soldier!!!!!!!!! You shoot and I'll shoot your ass down" I shouted.

"But commander the demon it's coming at us, it's going to rip out our limbs, we must take action now!" the assistant commandant said.

"You dare talk against my authority and command?" I asked, shouting furiously......

The soldiers quivered and lowered their head down at the deadly glare I was shooting at them. I was not one to be talked to anyhow, but I can also be most compassionate soul ever.

"One thing you don't know is that demons go in the direction of power, and that survivor you see, is the power" I said after calming my nerves down.

I turned to look at him as he continued walking towards us. It was no doubt Lord Adline's son. How he's still standing right now, it's a miracle.

"It's a human!" one of the soldier shouted out loudly, pointing at Lionel as the rest of the soldiers gasped in surprised.

"Please he....help....meee....." he stuttered falling to the ground.

I lunged forward and caught him before he fell to the ground. I placed his head on my armored thighs as a pillow for his head.

"I.....know.....you........but.....I don't remember........" he stuttered even more. He was more than weak.

"Rest! My leader we'll take care of you"

"Lord Adline needs help," he said, gasping for breath.

"What do you mean Lord Adline needs help? We haven't heard from him for a very long time now, he's probably dead," I said, wondering what he meant by Lord Adline needs help.

"Who are you?" He asked, furrowing his brows.

"Those eyes... those blue eyes..." he trailed off, looking straight into my eyes.

"Nai-nai?........." he said, looking keenly into my eyes as though he was trying to study it.

I smiled at him with the most sweetest smile ever. He recognized me without the cloak, it felt good to know that he recognized me.

"Yes lord Lionel" I answered him and watched him pass out again. He has probably being starving for days and even weak after using such immense amount of power.

I turned back to look at the confused soldiers who were, looking amongst themselves and then turned back to look at Lionel.

"Our commander, a nai-nai?"

"The commander called the young lad a lord? She has never called anyone Lord ever since the death of lord Adline."

"Something isn't adding up, our commander??, there's something our commander isn't telling us, something dubious." the soldiers continued murmuring amongst themselves.

'This must be the child the commander has been looking for all this while'

I scoffed.

"You know, if you're going to murmur or rather whisper like that you should learn it more, I could hear everything," I said.

"Anyways," I paused.

"I know all of your thoughts, and I'm telling you right here, right now that he is the future of our tribe, our leader and the successor of Lord Adline"

The soldiers gasped at the truth being revealed, they all knelt down on one knee and bowing down paying homage to Lionel.

"Long live Lord Lionel, leader of aristan, ruler of the tribe that's found in the valley of seven mountains and seven river," they all payed homage to Lionel who had already passed out.

"You should know that he's all passed out and didn't hear a word you've just said," I said, chuckling.

"You can all do that later, he needs help right now you can pay homage later.........you get me my horse now!" I ordered, one of the soldiers.

"How did he get here?" My assistant commandant asked, crouching down to our level.

"I don't know too, once he wakes I guess we will find out," I replied, gently rubbing his cheeks.

I carried Lionel on the horse and rode victoriously as the soldiers were hailing and cheering behind me.

For Twenty years this kingdom has been without a leader, except for me standing in place of authority.

I, Augusta, Commander of the northern army can say that I've been more than just a commander to just the soldiers, but also a mother to the soldiers and community at large. Putting whatever support I can put in place. And now there's no better time than to bring home a leader. Lord Lionel, successor and heir of Lord Adline.
