Chapter 5 FEELINGS AND SENTIMENT

Lionel

This was day two after leaving the village, I woke up feeling stressed and tensed. My back hurting so badly and the sunlight shining so bright that it was almost blinding. I looked to my side to see if Michael was awake already but, he wasn't there. I turn around to check if he was around and I saw him not too far off sitting on ground looking towards the direction of home.

"Michael!" I called from afar but no response

"Michael!..."I called again walking closer to him.

"Oh Lionel, Good morning " he said drying his face hurriedly, it's obvious that he has been crying.

"Is anything the matter? what's wrong? Your countenance looks pretty awful and you're awake early. Quite unusual of you" I said feeling really worried and rubbing my sleepy eyes.

Could he be missing home already? To early and late for that now.

"You know you can talk to me right?" I said, resting my hand on his shoulder.

He nodded in response. "I know,"

"It's just that..." he paused, looking straight at me.

"I couldn't sleep Lionel, I've never felt this way for a while now. Last time I felt this way was when my father had died."

"What are you feeling michael?" I asked, Curious to know more.

"I can't really explain it, this feeling, its deep and..." he paused again, unable to explain himself.

"My heart is heavy, and I'm lost for words to describe this feeling but just so you know, its an awful experience for me, this feeling its not a good one,"

"It's like it's gnawing at my throat,"

"So you've been going through this, all this while. Must have been a lot to handle. You know what Michael, we should be more open to ourselves, after all we've got only ourselves" I said holding the shoulder of Michael.

"That's true, and that's why I'm going to tell you this. Lionel I dreamt that my mother was dead it was terrifying, and I felt so angry in the dream, that I wanted to destroy everything in my path, destroy the village and those in it" he said, his countenance suddenly changing.

"Well Michael I think you're just missing your mom and scared of how the villagers will end up treating her and i totally get it" I said scoffing.

So that's what this feeling is all about? Him missing his mom that he hasn't seen for years? I knew I shouldn't have taken him along.

"You're not listening Lionel," he said, standing up. His voice laced with a tinge of anger.

"But I'm listening Michael," I said back at him.

"It's just like your dream, you said it felt real, and this feeling too is real," he said, trying to explain his voice still laced with the tinge of anger.

"Michael you told me my dream wasn't real and I was just overthinking it, what if that's what you're doing now, what if it's because we left that village that all these is happening to us right now? Huh?" I asked, stretching out my arm.

"No you don't understand lionel. This felt ominous, dark, evil that's what I felt" Michael said, acting a bit tensed up.

The winds started blowing. Blowing without direction, it was like as though the winds were clashing against themselves. For the first time in creation, the wind wasn't obeying it law of direction.

I turned to look at Michael he seemed terrified and angry so I held his hands and immediately the wind movement stopped and it began moving with direction, I knew this because I read books in the orphanage home so, I got to understand how the winds move and behave and also then I understood something even better.

"It's okay Michael at least you've got me" I said smiling, I didn't understand what Michael was saying about the ominous feeling, none of the things we've been feeling felt real.

"Want to know what I just understood now, when the wind was in disarray?" I asked him.

He looked at me confused with curiosity in his eyes.

"Yes sure" He replied looking at me with so much interest in whatever things I had to say.

"Yesterday you asked me if I knew where i was going, or what was the purpose of the journey." I paused, sighing out loud.

"If I'm being honest with you, I have no idea what I'm doing, but I just can't continue living in that pit-hole called a village,"

"I also understand that even the winds that keeps moving with no idea what's waiting for it at the other side of the earth it doesn't just stay in one place and doesn't fufill it's purpose but, nevertheless it keeps moving forward,"

"Although it was in disarray a while ago, but It didn't let it's disarray moment weigh it down. We've just got to keep moving forward maybe leaving the village was what we needed at this point of our lives". I said trying to comfort him and make him feel better.

"Yeah, you're right, I think leaving the village was what we needed," he said, nodding in agreement.

"But right now, I'm thinking that we have got to take shelter from that" Michael said pointing to a big unstable whirlwind coming toward their direction.

"Oh, dang it! Let's go,"

We both took to heels and hid within the bushes.

The whirlwind kept hovering over us for hours and it wouldn't stop and the most strangest of things happened.

The once scared and cry-baby Michael stepped out of the bushes. I never seen him worked up this much.

"Michael!!!!!! What do you think you're doing, get back in here now, it's safe in the bushes" I shouted

But he just stretched his hands towards me as a silent gesture telling me not to come any close.

"Michael, please come back!" I pleaded with him, hoping he would listen.

"What do you want from me universe, you took my father away and now I'm distant from my mother. No chance of me meeting her ever again or rather just want my life? Well you're not getting it without a fight," Michael shouted angrily swerving his arms to opposite direction.

"Michael what are you doing? Get back in here," I shouted loudly, as the howling of the wind was getting louder.

He stood still, unmoving from the spot.

Something unimaginable, something I never thought was possible was happening right before my very eyes, streaks of energy waves flowed out of Michael body, a very large amount that was competent enough to destroy the earth surface. The streaks of energy flowed out of his body fighting against the whirlwind. Dust rising, blurring my vision.

When everything had finally settled down I looked around the whirlwind was gone, the ground was burnt toast except for the spot where I was hiding and the spot where Michael was standing, everything happened so quickly. I ran to him quickly, he laid lifeless on the ground, I lifted him up and using my thigh as a pillow and put him on my arms.

"Oh my God.... Michael!!!!!!!!, please talk to me, wake up, Michael I can't lose you too not you please" I said tears flowing down my eyes.

I leaned down to him, turning my head to his chest to hear his heartbeat but I couldn't hear a thing.

"Michael please I beg you don't leave me all alone on this earth please wake up" I said still crying profusely.

"Michael??"

"Why! Why! Why! Why!!!!!!!!! Why do you have to take the one close as a family away from me why!!!!!" I screamed out loud looking to the sky, thunder and lightning responding to my screaming.

"No! No! No! This isn't happening"

I stood up on my feet angrily.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"I shouted at the top of my voice and the earth shook down to the core of the earth. I wasn't bothered by all that, I went down on my knees.

I'm twenty, an orphan with no relative and I was foolish and dumb to think I had a family somewhere, somehow and i was stupid enough to drag Michael into such foolishness.

How could I possibly think I had a purpose somewhat, I shouldn't be here or rather he shouldn't be here. If only I had listened to him, he wouldn't have died this way' I thought so hard within myself, holding my head with my two hands I think I'm about to go crazy. Then I heard a voice called out to me....

"Lionel!!!!!!..."

"Another voice in my head urgghhh. Leave me alone." I shouted angrily. The earth shook again. I wasn't concerned about the earth shaking.

"Lionel stop it. I'm over here, I'm not in your head, I'm here to help you and your friend so please would you stop shouting and wrecking havoc upon the earth." The strange person said.

I turned to see the person who spoke and I saw a personality in a long dark robe, the aura this person was releasing was intimidating. I have no idea if it's a man or woman but the aura flowing out of this person was intimidating. This person in question was tall, the identity was yet to be revealed.

"Who are you? and how do you know my name?, how did you even find me in this valley?"

"Is that what's important now or rather to save the life of your friend or instead to know who you truly are?"

My eyes flew wide open. Judging from the way this person was talking It seems to me that this person knows who I am, where I came from and probably know my parents.

I pondered for a while if I should trust him, Michael's life is at stake at the moment and I don't even know if he was dead or alive. I'm left with no option than to trust the stranger.

"So can you save my friend?" I asked, looking at the stranger. He nodded in response.

"And you know who I am?" I asked curious and at the same time trying to act tough, trying to show my intimidating power also, not like I had any.

The stranger scoffed.......

"You ask lots of questions young man, I'll help your friend and tell you who you really are but on one condition?"

"What condition?" I asked puzzled

"You will release my master from your imprisonment" the stranger said going on one knee.

Now things were getting really weird, I was really confused, what master was he talking about, well so long as he helps Michael' I thought within myself.

"Oka........y!" I replied reluctantly.

The stranger spat on his hand and stretched it towards me for a handshake, I shook his hand as it a tradition that's common in the area.

"Thank you lord Lionel Aldine from the tribe that's found in the valley of seven mountains and seven river, whose powers is compared to no other may you live forever,"

"What are you talking about?" I asked, looking at him.

"You're lord Adline's son," the stranger said.

I scoffed out of unbelief. "Lord Adline? Really? The character in a children's stories?" I asked, arching my brows.

He placed his hand on my chest and I got a vision, a very short vision that was more than enough to convince me.

I broke down immediately going down on my knees, so my father is the great Lord Adline. So many emotions and feelings kept rushing in and flooding my entire being that I was lost in the moment.

Is he joking with me? How is this even possible? Before I could ask him the next question I felt a loud thump on the back of my head I fainted immediately.

With my eyes closed I saw myself in a totally dark place, like I was imprisoned in my mind, I shouted and shouted every where was still dark. I sat down and was crying, I didn't understand what was happening to me.

Suddenly I saw the reflection of a light, I stood up and followed the light, I passed through the light and I entered into the valley of so many sunflowers, it was a beautiful sight it was like paradise. I looked around and saw no one, I looked around again and saw a man carrying a baby. I ran closer to the man, he was playing with his baby, I went round him to see his face, behold it was the man that was in that locket necklace and the baby was me.

"Hello! Hello!" I called out waving but he couldn't see or hear me

And then a woman appeared out of nowhere. A fair young and beautiful woman like she was in early thirties.

She has long brown hair, beautiful large almond shaped hazel eyes, her lips full and rosy with a cupid's bow shape that formed into a smile that was so beautiful. Her nose straight, delicate with a subtle bridge and also a well defined jawline, adding structure to her face. She was the most gorgeous thing I have ever seen.

"Adline darling you've got to go now, or you're going to be late." the beautiful woman said.

"But I just want to stay with my son that's all." he said removing the locket necklace and wearing it on the baby's neck.

Lord Adline was truly my father, how come there was no one to tell me about it.

In a split second everywhere changed, everywhere became a burnt valley, the house where they were living was burnt down. The man from afar of saw the valley and ran home and found no one at home, rather he found fragments of ashes. He screamed out loud and tore his clothes apart, a great immense amount of light came out of his chest to the sky, I could feel his anger, I myself felt so much anger boiling inside of me, I then realized I was in a vision.

Suddenly the man turned towards me.

"Help!!!!! Help me Lionel, help me son," lord Adline said in so much pain and grief and anger I could feel it all.

I'm going to find those who did this to my parents and I

I thought within myself and woke up out of that vision with so much anger and awareness that I am Lord Adline's son.

The light that came out of that man which is my father, Lord Adline, came out of me too and slew the demons that were around the landscape of where I was.

I killed thousands of demons with just one amount immense energy radiating out of me.

I stood with anger and rage in my eyes and I looked around, my eyes were like as an eagle, I could see every bit of the landscape and I couldn't find Michael, blood was trickling out of my eyes I was weak but tried to hold myself strong.

"That thing tricked me, I'll find you and kill you" I muttered underneath my breath. I was filled with rage the threatened to consume me.

"Dad, Michael, I'm coming to save you both. Because I'm the successor and heir of LORD ADLINE even if it takes me to bring down the whole earth" I said with my eyes filled with blood and I immediately fainted on the spot.
