Chapter 2 Decision

FLASH BACK: "You can't keep seeing them!" Lillian yells as she paces around the living room angrily. "Lily you know Kevin has been my best friend since high school , you don't expect me to stop being friends with him and Racheal just because Sofia stepped on your bag accidentally" I reasoned out she laughs hysterically and then points to the bag logo " A designer bag !" She yells again and throws the bag at me. " I got you that bag , I can get you another in a few weeks time." I said as I carefully approached her.

"Jake if you love me like you always claim you would stop being friends with Kevin and everyone involved with them." Lillian says through gritted teeth.

I sighed already getting slightly frustrated with her, "You're being ridiculous Lily." I stated angrily as I backed away from her. "Ridiculous?!" She screams at the top of her voice, "Yes Lillian." I raised my voice slightly. She goes silent staring at me in disbelieve and within seconds starts to cry. I went into panic mood and walked towards her to console her but she steps back to avoid me and wails out more, I hate when she does that its almost like I'm some sort of monster she has to get away from. "You just yelled at me Jake, You don't love me anymore right?" She cries out, it truly hurts me every time I see her crying . So I slowly walked to her again and gently pulled into my arms and stroked her hair softly. "Of cause you know that I love you so much Lillian." I replied in a soothing voice.

"Then why would you yell at me just because of Kevin?" She asked cries harder hitting my arm. "Okay, I'm sorry I'll never see them again so can you stop cry now? I am also sorry for raising my voice at you, and remember you're pregnant you can't be crying so hard you'll stress yourself and the baby." I apologize and accept her request to appease her. "Really?" She asked as she wipes her face cutely on my shirt, I hummed in reply and hugged her tightly.: END OF FLASH BACK.

"Jake my man you know you should count yourself lucky that you didn't keep that promise to your wife then, else you would be looking for another lawyer by now." Kevin stated as he puts down the divorce papers I asked him to draft on my way to his office after I left the house this morning. "So Racheal called and confirmed your suspicion, Lillian has indeed been cheating on you with Chad Atticus for about six months . They usually met at his pent house or his club. And her last girls weekend trip she was with Chad Atticus at his Lake house in Romania." Kevin explains, and joins me on the couch in his office. "Wow , she got all those information in less than two hours?" I asked a bit surprised but it did clear any doubt at this point. "Of cause, Racheal isn't the youngest head of detective department for nothing." Kevin stated gloating, he stares at me for moment. "But how did you know who it was? Because Racheal said Lillian didn't have his number saved as Chad but as Mickey's doctor and she was clever not to leave any text behind." Kevin asked curiously.

I can't just tell Kev that two years from now Lillian and her lover would kill me and I was than given a second chance to live that's how I'm back in time, he would think I'm crazy. I stayed silent and Kevin assured me that if I wasn't ready to talk that he would understand. "Thanks Kev." I tell him grateful for his support and understanding. The Atticus family is known to be one of the most sophisticated Aristocrats in America, they have wealth to last them for a thousand more generations. And that's why I want to divorce Lillian because I know she can't give up all the wealth and power to work things out with me. "Kevin, Mickey is just a year and one month old , I Just don't get it , didn't I love her enough? Didn't I give her every of her needs and wants? Was I a terrible husband?" I asked slightly upset about everything especially for my kids.

"Jacob, you've always prioritized Lillian and the kids firsts. I have never seen you put yourself first and I know that you gave your all for Lillian and you loved her way more than you loved yourself. So don't worry you're doing the right thing Jake, Lillian is the one got greedy and didn't deserve your love ." Kevin assured me and gave me a pat on the back. I nodded and sighed in relief. 'This time live without regrets do the right things for your kids and yourself. Live till you're too old and die without regrets......' Remembering the voice I grew more confident in my decision and looked back to a picture of me and Kevin in high school that he had in his office. Kevin didn't change much he still had his blonde curls and dark grey orbs and his boxy smile, I don't look bad myself with my brown shoulder length hair, hazel orbs and I still have my shy smile. I could have easily gotten another lady but I just really loved only Lillian. "I've got to meet up with Lillian , I'll call you when I'm done and let you know how everything went." I told Kevin as I got up to leave his office, "Take care bro." Kev yells out as I walked out the door.

I arrived at the restaurant and waited for Lillian to get here, after waiting for about thirty minutes, she shows up looking scared and uncertain. I got up and pulled a chair out for her and she sat down before take my seat again. "Jacob please I'm sorry, I promise it won't happen again. I haven't slept with him yet I swear." She begs instantly, I slowly nodded before sliding the envelop towards her. Lillian looks at me confused as to why I haven't said a word, she hesitated before picking up the envelop and pulling out the divorce agreement. "Jacob, you can't be serious right?" She stutters with labored breathe. I can't over react if I want this to end without problems and drama. "Chad Atticus, that's who you're cheating on me with Lily . We both know you can't leave all that wealth, fame and power to be with me. If he makes you happy and gives you all you want then you can openly be with him and you will be at ease. We'll have shared custody over the kids." I reasoned out with her calmly. She looked surprised but then seemed to be in thoughts as she bites her bottom lips looking intently at the divorce papers. "I...... don't want shared c-custody, can you be the only one responsible for them?" Lillian finally speaks up after a while. Wow she just keeps surprising me.
