The following day at school during breakfast.

Olive is seated with a worried Angelina.

"I wasn't chanced to talk to you since morning.

The classes has been hectic.

Olive. I have something that is bothering my mind all these while ".

"What is it, dear?

"I know I'm not supposed to be discussing this with you now that it is not official.

But olive, you are my friend and I can't keep things away from you".

"What's that, sweetheart?

"My mum is dating a new man and I don't like him".

"A new man?

S...he might like him and...

"Like him?

He is going to turn to my step father automatically if he got married to my mother".

"I see nothing wrong with it since it is your mother that is getting married to him not you".

"Olive, you can't understand.

My mum is 36years old.

What did she need a man for?

"You can't decide for your mother.

She knows what is best for you.

Babe, you don't have to disturb yourself over it. Everything is going to be Alright.

"Are you sure?".

"I'm sure. Come on, let's grab a drink". She said and dragged her friend along.

She ordered for two drinks and gave one to Angelina.

Carl also came to join them.

"I am expecting my own too drink".

"You should grab one for yourself".

"How are you preparing for the Proms night?". Carl asked.

"I've not made any plans for it.

Are you also interested in it? Olive asked.

"Who wouldn't be interested in fun.

Today class is hectic especially that Biology aspect".

"You choose to be a science student. So, what did you expect?

"And, when are we starting our studying group?". Olive asked.

"Yeah! It's true.

Our final class is grade 12 and we should start answering past questions against next year.

"We are still in grade 11. What's the rush all about? Carl butted in.

"A good student prepare ahead of the next class. It will also help your academic too". Angelina responded.

"I think we should start preparing for it after the Proms night.

What are you going to wear Angelina?

Should we go for shopping together?

"Can I also tagged in?". Carl asked and they all broke into laughter.

"You are a man and you should have a male friend too? When will you look for one?

"The guys here are not mingling with me.

Maybe it's because I am still new in this school or....

I don't even know.

I'm just me.

"Don't worry, you will meet someone very soon". Angelina assured her and he nodded his head.

Lunch break is over and it's time for the students to return back to the class.

They all went back to the class.

Ben close his car door behind and bring the souvenir alongside with him.

He dropped the souvenir on the chair and his two kids run up to him.

"Welcome dad". Simeon and Freya said.

"How are you my darling?". He said carrying them and plastering their faces with kisses.

He dropped them on the floor back and walk towards his mother sitting on the chair.

"Good day, mum". He embraced her.

"Welcome home, my son". She said patting his back.

"I brought you this". He said pointing the souvenir towards her mum.

"Thank you, son.

"What about ours dad". Freya said.

"I didn't forget your gifts too". He said removing the chocolate from his pocket.

He handed it to the both of them and they are happy.

"How are you coping with the kids, mum?"

"I'm trying my best to be a mother for them"

"You are trying, mum.

Very soon, you will be relieved of everything ".

"Are you working on something already?".

"Yes, mum.

I have a new girlfriend now.

She is humble and kind.

She will make a good mother to my kids".

"Ensure to scrutinize her behaviour very well before taking her in.

We can't afford any mistake from her.

We should not create any unnecessary attention towards ourself again".

"I am sure of it, mum.

You are going to love her".

"What would you like me to offer you?".

"Water is okay, mum". He responded and he was handed a cold bottle water.

"Freya, Simone.

Have you done your assignment?".

"Yes. Dad.

"How?

Did you understand everything?".

"Yes dad". They both chorused.

"I don't believe you guys, I need to see it before I can believe you".

"Don't you trust me, dad?" Freya asked.

"I did, but not on this". He said.

"Now bring it out". He instructed and they both went to bring their assignments.

Ben opened Freya's own and notice some mistakes in it. He corrected it and did the same corrections in Simeon's own too.

"You are good kids! He complimented and patted their back.

"Can you play in your room while I discuss with granny?".

"Yes dad". They both chorused and went into their room.

"So, tell me about this new woman?". His mother asked.

"Well, my new woman is humble and kind like I said from the beginning.

She is caring and a disciplined woman".

"How did you know all of this?

Have you start living with each other?".

"No.

She is my colleague at work and I've developed this deep love for her.

I've been proposing my love to her all these while and she finally accepted.

I love her and I'm sure that I love her too".

"Is she aware of your kids?". His mother asked.

"Yeah!

She knew about freya and Simeon.

She is also a single parent like me.

She has a teenage daughter".

"A single mother?

"Yes mum".

"Why would you go for a single mother when there are single ladies all over the world.

I think if you're starting out your life all again.

You should try it out with someone single".

"I understand your fact, mum.

But I've tested Grace in every way and she ticked the boxes off".

"This is serious

But if that's what you want, there is nothing that I'm going to do.

Does she accept my grandchildren?".

"Yes, mum".

"What about her teenage daughter, does she accept you too?".

"I don't think she did but I'm working on it".

"Alright dear.

"Amen. Thanks mum.

"I need to start going back now". He said standing up.

"That fast!..

"Yes, mum.

I wanted to spend some time with Grace and get to know her better.

She has given me a chance in her life and I have to prove to her that I fit into her life ".

"You remind me of your father.

I missed his late presence now".

"Dad is fine wherever he is now".

"I know"..

"Alright, mum.

Let me start going". He said and pecked her chin before leaving.

"I'm off Freya and Simeon.

See you next time. He said in an hurry and left.

He arrived at his working place and Grace is getting ready to leave for home.

"Can I take you home?".

"Why not?

You just save my transport fare.

"Let's go". He said and Grace hop into the other seat

"Are you free tomorrow?".

"No, dear".

"Can I come over to your place?".

"No".

"Why?

Any problem".

"I want to stay with my daughter tomorrow".

Ben pulled his car over a side and hold Grace chin with his fingers.

"You always talk about your daughter anytime I brought our topic up.

Grace, we are an Adult and kids shouldn't be the person controlling our lives.

You've denied yourself love all these years all because of her.

Don't you think this is the right time to breath in love.

Think about it, Grace.

"I'm sorry, Ben.

You can come for me tomorrow morning ".

"Thanks my love".

"You're welcome ". Ben leaned over to kiss her chin.

She adjusted back and Ben went into driving.

He stopped at the front of her house and Angelina is already sitted at the front of the house.

"Welcome home, mum".

"Thanks, sweetheart.

Angelina, meet Ben". She tried to introduce him to her but Angelina went inside.

"Your daughter doesn't like me".

"She did!

She is probably in a bad mood.

Don't worry about her.

I'm the woman that you come for, Not her ".

"Love you, dear".

"Love you too". Grace said and went inside while Ben drive off.

"You won't behave to my guest in that manner, sweet heart". Grace said dropping her bag.

"You're the only person at home, mum.

Which guest are you talking about?".

"Stop pretending to me, Angelina

Afterall, I am your mum.

Whatever I tell you is what you will heed to".

"You won't marry that man, mum.

You don't need a man!

This angered Grace, she slapped her daughter.

Angelina is surprised at her mother reaction.

She has never been slapped by her mother.

This is the first time.

Grace entered her room in anger.
