Grace close the laptop on the table and grabbed her handbag.

Ben walked over to her table.

"Can we go for dinner this evening?".

"I would have loved to go for a dinner but my daughter will be waiting at home for me".

"Is she still a baby?".

"In my eyes,

She is still a baby".

"Grace. What's wrong? He paused.

You've been giving me attitude since morning.

Did I did anything wrong?". Ben asked looking worried.

"You did nothing wrong.

"Then, what's the matter?

I love you babe". He said moving closer to her.

He placed her right hand on her chin and pecked her forehead.

"Just spare me this night, please.

I missed you. Angelina is no longer a baby.

You too know that". Ben said.

Grace sighed out loud before giving him a response.

"Alright.

Let's go for a dinner but, I will get home first to change my cloth".

"Your dressing is okay this way.

I am okay with everything that you wear".

"Okay....

let's go". Grace responsed.

Ben helped in carrying her bag and lead her to her car.

He opened the front seat for her and she sat down.

He drive her down to the restaurant.

"Have your seat". He said bringing out the chair in the restaurant while Grace has her seat.

The waiter came with the menu and they both choose rice with chicken.

"How is the meal?".

"Enjoyable". She said sipping the orange juice in her glass cup.

"I am happy that you heed to my word this evening".

"Didn't I listen to you before?

"Not all the time.

You didn't give me the chance to prove my love to you all these while". Ben complained.

".,..And now I have given you the chance to do so. Ben, I'm only taking my time before jumping into another relationship.

I was naive when I had Angelina and I know how much I struggled to train her to that stage .

It's not an easy one".

"I know. Because I've been in your shoes before".

"You want to remind me of your kids ".

"Yeah.

My two cuties is the best thing that has happened to me in life.

Their mother died after giving birth to the second child and I've been the person caring for them.

My mother came sometimes to assist me but trust me, the burden is much.

"How are they coping now?". Grace asked adjusting on her seat.

"They are both doing fine now.

At least they are no more five years old".

"That's good".

"I want us to define our relationship, Grace". Ben said and she almost choked on the water that she is drinking.

"You said? What?".

"What is the essence of our relationship if it doesn't lead to somewhere.

Grace, I know that ...you know that I love you.

I really want you in my life".

"I think I am done here". Grace said cleaning her mouth with the tissue paper.

She dragged the chair back and Ben grabbed her hand.

"Grace.

I know This is too fast for you.

I wouldn't rush you, I promise.

Please , take your time". Ben said and Grace calmed down.

She went back to her seat and sighed out loud.

"I understand the affection that you have for me.

But please, give me enough time.

I need some time to assimilate everything.

I just want to enjoy the moment for now". Grace pleaded.

Ben nodded his head and nudged her to eat her food.

When they are done with eating,

Grace ordered for a pack of food for Angelina before leaving the restaurant.

Ben insisted in dropping her off.

Angelina is standing at the verandah of the building when Ben car swerve in.

Grace Alighted from the car and Ben walked her to the doorstep.

"Welcome back, mum". Angelina said and went in while ignoring Ben.

"Your daughter doesn't like me yet".

"She will do so, as time goes on". Grace responded.

"Are you sure?".

"I'm sure.

She is just being upset knowing that I'm dating a new man.

You want to come in between a mother and a daughter life".

"I understand.

Alright, love.

I will see you tomorrow ".

"Thanks for today, Dear. Bye ". She said hugging him while he patted her back.

Ben drive off and Grace went in.

"How's school today? She asked dropping her handbag.

"Good".

"How's Olive".

"She's fine. But, Mum. You are late".

"I know, sweetheart. That's d reason why I brought you this". She said bringing out the pack.

"Did your boyfriend bought it?".

"You are too inquisitive, Angelina and you ask alot of questions. I bought it with my own money".

"Thank you, mummy".

"You're welcome sweetheart.

Darling, you are no longer a kid and I am an Adult too.

You might not like Ben at first,

But you will do so, as time goes on.

Ben is a lovely soul".

"I will eat my meal in my room". Angelina said avoiding the topic.

She walked into her room and locked the door from behind.

Grace also went to her room to change her outfit and run a shower.

She jumped on the bed and Ben sent her a message.

She laughed after reading the message and reply his message.

She dropped her phone and close her eyes.

Angelina on the other side ate the food gently.

She thought about...what her mother said.

She grabbed her phone and sent a message to Olive.

'we need to talk tomorrow, something is bothering my mind"

"Can't you share it with me now?".

"I can't.

I don't want my mum knowing about it ".

"Okay, dear.

We are going to meet each other Tomorrow.

Please , stop.thinking about it.

We have another day to live tomorrow ".

"Thanks dear.

I know I can count on you ". Angelina said and ended the call.

"Is that Angelina?". Olive mother asked coming into her room.

"Yes, mum.

She sound worried".

"Nothing is going to happen to her.

"Thank you, mummy"

"You are welcome "
