Chapter 3 Unravelling the past

The full moon marked my transformation as a werewolf. As I felt my body begin to change, I knew I had to escape. I gazed out the window, my instinct urging me to flee to the woods.

I had to get away from the town lest I may lose control and hurt someone I cared about with a surge of energy I sprinted out through the window and into the darkness embracing my wild transformation in the safety of the forest.

My body still itches and my skin were cold

This was my first transformation. I could feel pain piercing through my bone. I cried for help with the howling sounds which echoed in the forest but I never knew I was reaching out to another pack.

I struggle with my transformation. I quickly grabbed a rope tying myself to a tree so I could be stuck in there after the full moon to prevent myself from hunting a prey.

Along the line Aria couldn't have a good night sleep as he traced the sound of a broken window when I flew through it.

"What could this be?".

She asked about wandering around waking some of the villagers around her to assemble them for a brief meeting.

"Have anyone seen Lyra?".

"Not at all" They all echoed in unison.

Her worried look kept her in silence asking some tricky questions.

"What will you do when you see a wolf around you?"

"Kill them of course"

"Buried them alive, just as they do to our love ones"

Some of them gave their opinion as everyone complied with their demands. Aria was speechless, gazing at them.

"We have been accommodating a wolf and we don't want revenge on this one".

"What do you mean by this, don't tell me the stranger is the wolf we have been accommodating". One of them interrupted.

All eyes were wide in shock when they heard this and in unison they exclaimed.

"Kill her!!".

The voice was extremely loud, it was like a wild animal ready to devour the sound of a beat and a weapon was clinging to their sword making some clanking sound.

"Silence!" She commanded, taking in a deep breath while she proceeded further.

"I will not fold my hands and watch such an act happen. She may be a wolf but not the bad one she has a prophecy to fulfilled".

"How do you know she's a good wolf? All wolves are dangerous".

"Not really true, I believe in Lyra she's different from others she left to avoid harming someone like us we all know we need revenge to avenge the death of our love ones killed by the rogue pack, this is the same prophecy Lyra need to fulfill and we need her assistant to help her regain her memory".

This statement had a calming effect on everyone as they reflected on her words and came to an agreement they decided to carry out a plan in searching for me.

As the full moon waned, I returned to the woods and reverted to my human form. Weakened by the transformation I grew increasingly tired and accidentally untied the rope that secured me to the tree finally releasing myself from its grasp.

After a few moments I heard the footsteps of an unknown figure approaching. As I turned to face them I saw three men advancing towards me with a menacing appearance.

"Look what we got, a pretty damsel". He said cascading my body as I felt his irritating touch on my bosom.

"Who are you and what do you want". I mumbled beneath my voice.

"Let's just say I'm a random guy who randomly falls in love with a random girl".

His words made his accomplice laugh as they tried forcing a caricature of me trying to force himself against my will.

I felt so weak and tired that I couldn't fight or rescue myself after much trial. In order to free myself from their grip which seems abortive I heard a voice from afar.

"Stop! I guess you picked the wrong person, why can't you face me either"..

This caught their attention as they turned back to face him, their expression changing to a curious smile as they wondered how someone could dare to confront a gang alone.

"Who are you Mr. Savior?"

"Well let me just start with a little introduction, I'm Kyle the one who's gonna rip you off is you fail to adhere to my instructions"

They all stare at each other in laughter.

"Then show us what you got".

I could feel the intensity of the heat as both gasp in anger ready to confront themselves in a fight.

The gang intent on attacking arrived in full force but Kyle, determined to protect me, stood first against them as they transformed into their wolf form. I realize their true nature however Kyle's superior strength and skill proved too much of them and he quickly overpowered the pack.

He held one of them by the throat and as the wolf pleaded for mercy the others fled in terror realizing the fact that they were no match for Kyle's courage.

He walked to me to know if I'm fine as he approached me in a caring and polite way.

"Hope you're fine" He said, stretching his hand to pull me up.

I felt a bit relieved as I expressed my gratitude.

"Thank you so much, I'm Isabella"

"Call me Kyle". He said, extending his hand for a handshake.

I couldn't say but notice his handsome appearance and alluring scent which surrounded him like a magnetic field were so enticing that they could effortlessly win someone's heart.

"You're really amazing. This is the first time seeing a wolf in human form but if you don't mind how do you endure the severe pain during your transformation?".

"I don't think this is necessary, it's a thing of privacy".

As he walked away from me I found myself intensely curious about him and his extraordinary abilities as a wolf. Without hesitation I decided to follow him carefully to remain unnoticed and to keep my presence a secret.
