Chapter 2 Rebirth and Rediscovery.

The sky became deep with an ominous gray cloud that seemed to swirl and twist in every direction. The air is heavy with an unsettling electricity making the hair on the back of my neck stand on its end.

The rustling of leaves terrifies my feet creating shivers in my spin. I continued in her direction as she instructed but couldn't move any further leaving me suspicious.

"Excuse me Aria, can I know where you're taking me to?".

I asked in fear it was as if I was being enchanted. I couldn't resist her order. She looked at me with a smile.

"We are almost there Lyra".

On getting to a spot I saw a mirror on the wall I moved close to it reaching out to touch its surface and gaze at my reflection staring back at me.

"This is a Magic mirror that sees the future and tells the prophecy to be fulfilled."

"And what does it say about me?".

I waited for an answer but her silence left me wondering what to do next.

She revealed some secrets explaining about my past existence of being an Alpha female, I couldn't clarify her speech. I'm still in assimilation; it was as if all my memories were gone.

"Do you know anything about wolves?".

"Wolves? I believe wolves exist but I don't think I have ever seen one".

My answers were like a straight bullet. She became astonished because she couldn't convince me of the existence of a wolf. Maybe I could be one.

She stretched her hand holding my palm as she instructed me to look in the mirror while I empty my mind.

After a moment what I saw filled me with terror, causing my entire body to tremble uncontrollably as I felt the intense heat of the horrifying vision before me.

"What do you see?".

"I see a small town being destroyed and immolated by a pack of wolves, I see lives being taken and people running Helter Skelter for survival".

I said in fear as my skin became frozen with profusely sweat.

"Is there anyone you saw in such a vision?". She asked in anticipation.

"I don't think so they are all strange to me".

"Strange faces are once familiar faces, this could be you and your town being invaded".

When I heard this it looked like a folktale story. It was amusing, which got me chuckle and mimicking her display. I never knew I was being shown the past and what to do to recreate the future because my memories were all gone.

"I think I should have some rest since I have been stressed all through the day with your diabolical act".

I turned to leave but she continued to gaze at me nodding her head in a manner that made me feel uneasy. Just as I was about to depart she suddenly called out to me, capturing my attention.

"Wait a minute, let me lead you to your room".

I followed her direction and after we got to the entrance she halted panting my left shoulder with a sigh.

"This is your room" she said, allowing me an entrance after she greeted me and left.

"Farewell and sweet dreams. I believe one day you will understand who you truly are, goodnight Lyra".

I entered the room. It was beautifully decorated with attractive colors. The pictures on the wall caught my attention. It was an image of a lady slaying a wolf. I assumed it could be her as I left a smile still staring at the picture.

I tried relaxing on the bed to have a good night sleep still staring at the image on the wall after some minute I doze off but dream struck me up like a nightmare

"No!!" I screamed, Aria heard my voice and ran to my rescue.

"What's it Lyra?" She cradled me in her hands, supporting my weight as I relaxed and breathed heavily, my chest rising and falling with each labored breath.

"I saw it!".

"What do you see?".

I sigh demanding for water to quench my thirst. Aria gave me a jar of water as she awaited my answer.

"Tell me what's the problem? What made you scream in such a manner?".

"I saw myself chased by a wolf. I was dragged by a strange figure into the woods where his packs waited to destroy me as their prey but I screamed for help in which I woke up".

"The prophecy is gradually fulfilling Its promise" .

"What prophecy?".

"You're the chosen one assigned to slay the Alpha to justify the death of your father and your town that was completely destroyed".

"What are you saying, I have no father I know nothing about a wolf or even an Alpha and how can I kill a wolf when I can't even kill a fly?".

She looked at me and mumbled beneath her voice while she whispered to my ears.

"Lyra your potential lies inside of you, one day you will unlock the hidden giant in you"

Her words struck a chord and I felt a sudden sense of clarity wondering if I was indeed a wolf in sheep's clothing. But as I sat there lost in thought she departed leaving me alone in the room to grapple with my doubt and uncertainties.

"I'm a wolf?". My voice echoed through the room but no one was around to give an answer.

I clapped my hands on my head . It was as if I was going insane.

My thoughts pierced my head like a bomb ready for explosion. I wandered in my room and suddenly I felt some itching pain in my left hand but I dismissed it as nothing serious and continued wandering around my room. However, I eventually glanced down at my hand.

I was shocked to discover a deep gash - a wolf's claw scratch that left me stunned and contemplating how it had happened.

The more I looked at it the more frightened I became. I could feel the heat in my body. My slippery hair was gradually becoming wolf fur and my heart kept beating fast.

I quickly looked through the window and glanced at the sky. I found out it was a full moon.
