Chapter 4 ABANDONED

"Wake up, dear, you have to eat something."

Camilla had a voice echoing in her dreams, and she struggled to open her eyes; her vision was blurry, and her body was weak and pale, but she tried to sit up on the soft hospital bed.

"Take it easy, sweetie; you have to be careful you are not too strong." Camilla opened her eyes and saw a lady with a white gown. It seemed as though she was a nurse.

The woman helped carry her up so she could sit; only then did she look around the room and see that the paint was gold throughout. Her father's architectural building was not like this.

"Where am I?" She asked as dumbly as she tried to adjust herself on the bed.

"You are at the hospital, dear." The woman said she was preparing an injection.

Just then she recalled a little bit of what happened last at her father's house.

"How long have I been unconscious, ma'am?" She asked the woman.

"Three days, dear, you were brought on by your husband." The woman said.

"Three days?" She asked in a hurry, and the woman nodded.

Only then did everything that transpired replay fully.

Her brain reflected on her sitting in a pool of her own blood.

"My baby! How is my baby?" Camilla cried out immediately as she held her stomach, waiting curiously for the woman to say something.

She had suddenly remembered how she was in a pool of blood and...

"Calm down, honey; your baby is doing great." The woman held her hand and squeezed them, giving her an assuring smile.

She let out a sigh of exasperation, and her heart calmed down a bit, but her eyes showed a little bit of worry.

"I am so sorry, my little cutie; I won't risk your life again. Never baby, mummy loves you." Camilla recited mumbling as she caressed her tummy.

The nurse went back in preparation for the injection that will be inserted in her. Two minutes later, after contemplating,.

"Has anyone come to check on me since I was admitted here?" Camilla asked; she has hope that her husband might have been coming to see her.

"You mean your husband, right?" The woman asked, and Camilla nodded.

"Ohh, your husband, he didn't come in here since you were admitted; he was putting all his attention on a lady that was brought in with you."

"A lady? She gasped. "You mean a lady named Morgan? She asked even when she knew how manipulative her stepmother could be.

"Exactly. I think that is her name. As the woman said this, Camilla's heart shattered into a million pieces, and tears ran down her eyes, her body stiff in agony.

She leaned back in the bed as the realization of what had really happened hit her heavily.

She could recall how her husband had abandoned her, only going to help her little sister.

Betrayal and anger mixed in her mood as she tried to wave the thought and images of what had happened, but it seemed irresistible.

"You don't have to cry, honey; you will be fine." The woman said as she saw her shedding tears.

"Did anything serious happen to her? Camilla asked the woman as she wiped her tears, but it came out more.

She was not surprised when the woman shook her head. "She was just brought to the emergency room and was discharged immediately."

"Did she sustain any injuries?" She dared to ask her.

"She had not even a slight injury; she was fine." The doctor said, and this made Camilla's heart freeze in pain.

"You mean no one really comes to check up on me?" She asked the woman again, and she nodded slightly. Camilla's stomach knitted in pain.

"I haven't really seen him around. I guess he is so busy dealing with the media to secure his reputation for all the fiascos."

"Media?" She asked

"You have to get enough rest, darling; don't bother thinking of anything. You have to rest and get a lot of sleep. You really lost a lot of blood."

She dressed the bed and made Camilla lay down. If you need anything, press the button, and I will come to your aid." With this, the woman smiled and left after giving her the injection in the left side of her buttocks.

When the woman left, Camilla took the remote and put a news channel, and unfortunately she saw her husband standing, holding hands with Morgan. Her heart skipped a bit.

Different images of Sebastien and Morgan continue to flash across the screen.

"It seems like a business tycoon. Sebastien Anndragon is officially off the market." The voice from the news echoed in her head.

The news continued, "Rumors had it that Sebastien Anndragon, a young billionaire and the CEO of Vantage Enterprise Limited, had been secretly married to one of his employers. Today his PR found out that there is no truth to that. Instead, it was confirmed that he is dating a model, Morgan Mondragon, and they have been friends since childhood, and they have been engaged recently."

Her heart was thumping in her chest; she could not take this anymore as the news continued to echo in her ears. Tears brimmed down her eyes as she took the remote and off the TV instantly.

Sighting Sebastian and Morgan holding hands made her feel broken.

She had also seen a picture of them kissing, and her heart felt as though it was stabbed with millions of nice

She sobbed so badly, and the textile she wore was getting soaked. She cried for almost ten minutes before she cleaned her eyes.

"I can't cry for a man that doesn't even glance at me, a man that never treated me as a wife or even once introduced me as one. But today he had publicly announced his engagement with my stepsister." Camilla reasoned.

"This is bullshit; he should get the fuck out of my life. I don't care anymore. I won't tell him about this pregnancy; my child will never call him Daddy! He should enjoy his romantic life with that baby. I don't give a damn!"

With this, she picked up her phone with a shaking hand and sent a message to Sebastian. She doesn't care any more. Sebastian can never love her.

"You have gold, and you decide to go for a trash and gold digger. I can see how much you love her. You don't deserve me! Let's get a divorce! Goodbye Sebastien!"

She typed the message and sent it to him without even going through it for a recheck.

She didn't believe she would have the courage to send the text to him, but she did.

"I assure you, baby, we will be fine. With or without your daddy." She said and rubbed her tummy.

Sebastian couldn't help but hear her voice echo in his head. "Goodbye, Sebastien.

He can't shake off the feeling that had been eating him up. He had indeed wanted this.

He could remember her in a pool of blood and could see the hope in her eyes when she thought he was about to help her up.

"Damn it!" He said and threw his phone to the bed. He could have saved her, but he went to save Morgan.

And for the news about Morgan, he had to do that because there were rumors that he was married to Camilla and treated her like nobody, which was true.

But to save his reputation, his PR advised him to publicly announce his engagement with Morgan so as to clear the media doubt and to secure his reputation.

He was in the house they shared, and he noticed something was missing: Camilla's presence.

"I know it is for the better.. finally she is out of my life. But damn! Why do I feel so empty?" Sebastian sneered in frustration.
