WHAT? HER EX-HUSBAND

Five Years Later.

Camilla is sitting in her empire, which took her years to build. Her own firm, her long red hair fell at her back, her very blue eyes on her laptop, and she was dressed in a very expensive Turkish suit-a testament of wealth.

Just then her assistant gave a knock and entered, causing her to arched her eyebrows and pulled a strand of her red hair behind her ears.

"Camilla, your grandfather's lawyer, Attorney Michael, has been calling your line since morning, and he also sent numerous emails." Camilla assistant Everly said.

"I have made up my mind; I am still not interested." Camilla scoffed.

A few weeks ago, Camilla had found out that her mother's parents were filthy rich. He owns King Limited, a well-known company in the country.

Surprisingly, he handed over the company to Camilla as his successor.

"I am sure I won't be able to run that company."

Everly furrowed her eyebrows and looked at Camilla. "You are the smartest woman I have ever known, and I am sure you can do it. Maybe your grandfather made you his successor because of how intelligent you are. I also heard he was smart."

Four years ago, Camilla had found out how talented she was at designing. With her determination to better her son's life. She had gone for her training, and now she had her own company. "Camilla's Design."

It was one of the biggest design companies in the city.

She had really heard a lot about King's limited enterprise; they also advertised the company in the media.

"Your grandfather has been sick for a while, and he wants to hand over the company to you. He is sure you can do it; you can hand it over to your son when they come up." Camilla heard the lawyer's voice in her head.

Her son Liam was a smart, good-looking boy; he looks like..."

'I am sure he would be able to help you, too." Everly cut her short of her thoughts.

"What can he offer that I don't have?" Camilla said.

"You know he can be able to help you with your son's health. Liam really needs a bone marrow transplant, or else you want to go to your husband."

"No, don't mention that! I can never go to him." Camilla said disgustedly.

"Then you have to hear him out; he will be coming soon." Everly said and took her leave.

Everly was not just an assistant to Camilla; she was also a very good friend and adviser; they had been very close.

There was someone that came in to see Camilla after Everly, her friend and assistant, had left.

Everly was a supportive friend, and Camilla was grateful to God for such a friend.

The man that came to see her was a tall, handsome man with piercing blue eyes and nice muscles that looked like god's.

"Good morning, love. Happy birthday, sweetheart." The man said as he walked up to Camilla's desks.

Camilla's heart was joyous. "Thank you so much." Camilla cheeks flushed pink.

"I thought you were supposed to be at a board meeting today."

"Yes, I was, but I came to wish you a happy birthday directly." He then handed a flower to her.

The man inside her office right now was her next-door neighbor during their childhood days. She had met him immediately when she relocated to Europe; he had been a support to her and her son ever since.

Unlike before, he was a young boy that was struggling to make ends meet, and Camilla was shocked to see him as a wealthy young billionaire. He was among the top five wealthy billionaires.

Camilla had noticed that he really takes her more like a friend and had known what he wanted from her.

He has always been by her side, but she wasn't really sure she had gone over her past and was ready to move on.

"Thanks for always being good to me and my son."

He rolled his eyes at her. "You know I can be more than that, right?" He said and took her hand, pressing it so tight in love.

"You have to understand my son is not my priority and his health is too, so..'

"I know, and I am not asking you to choose anyone before your son." He said, caressing her hands.

She smiled. "Darwin Langley...

Then Everly burst open into the office; there was urgency on her face. "Camilla I am sorry.. but." She paused. "Attorney Michael is here to see you."

Camilla groaned. "He is really persistent! Damn!"

"Want me to take care of it?" Darwin asked.

She shook her head. "I will handle everything."

There was disappointment on Darwin's face; he had expected to get an answer from her, and somehow, something he had been waiting for, there was a disturbance.

"Okay, I will see you later at dinner." His voice was so sad.

Was she really going to say yes to Darwin just now? She asked in her head. "Have I really moved on? Am I ready for this?" She questioned herself.

Everly came back to the office, followed by an older man.

"Miss Camilla." Attorney Michael said. "I am sorry for always disturbing your peace, but you know desperate time calls for desperate measures."

"I have made myself clear; I am not interested in running my grandfather's business."

Attorney Michael took out an envelope from his suitcase and showed her different pictures of people that were handicapped, old, people she didn't even know.

"Who are these people?" Camilla asked, still confused.

"These are the people who work with your grandfather in building his hotel empires."

"What am I supposed to do with them?"

"You see, these people stand a chance of losing everything, everything they ever worked for. All because you refuse to take the company."Attorney Michael said and paused.

"No one is running the company right now, and the company is close to being owned by one person and only a small penny for all these people, including your grandmother."

"Grandmother?" She was shocked; she didn't know she had living grandparents.

"Yes, you have to do this for all of them; she was indeed angry when your father threw your mother out of the house, and this made them have minor issues. I am sure your grandfather regrets it."

"So why don't you take the company?

"I am aware of your son's health issues; you have cousins and relatives from your mother's side that will be willing to help," he said.

She hummed but said nothing.

"Your grandfather's dying wish was that his company should remain in his family, and he has watched you grow; he knows what you are capable of doing." He continued trying to win her to accept.

"My cousins, why can't one of them run the company?"

"Some can't do it, others are not interested, and your grandfather really wants you to run the company. You have to accept this for your grandmother's health. She has depression, and you see all these people in these pictures. You have to do something."

"Are you making me feel guilty?" She said the story really touched her.

"Not at all." He said.

"Are you sure I will be able to do this? Taking over his legacy?" she asked in confusion.

"Yes, you can; your grandfather knew everything about you even though you weren't aware."

"Okay, I will give it a try. So what do I intend to do first?"

"Attend the investor and shareholder meetings on Monday." He voiced.

"Announce that you have accepted the position. The CEO of the company that wants to buy your grandfather's company will be present. Make him understand he can invest but can't take over your grandfather's business."

"Where is the meeting being held??"

"In New York City!"

Her jaw suddenly dropped. New York City? That was her old hometown, where she had lived with Sebastien.

"And what is the name of the company that is trying to take over my grandfather's business, King's Limited? She asked nervously with a racing heart.

"Vintage limited Corps." Attorney Michael replied. You need to meet with the CEO, Sebastien Anndragon."

Her ex-husband? Unbelievable!
