Finally, Gabriella packed up her things, ready to leave with a heavy heart. She wished for a chance to see Caleb once more, but it wasn't granted to her. She didn't have much to take; everything she felt she owned was packed inside a small bag.
As she prepared to leave, her eyes filled with tears, a knock suddenly came on her door, and her heart raced, hoping it was Caleb.
"Who's there?" she asked.
"It's Maxwell! I have been sent by the Luna to escort you out of the pack as soon as possible," he responded. Gabriella's heart broke even more as she picked up her bag.
Maxwell was Immaculate's brother and, of course, Caleb's beta. After she opened the door and stepped out of the room, Maxwell escorted her out of the pack as he was ordered, disregarding the tears in her eyes and her feelings.
"Maxwell, please, could you do me a favor? I have some words I would like you to send to Caleb," Gabriella said, hopeful that Maxwell would agree.
"Of course I can't. I can't betray my sister, you should know that," Maxwell responded, bluntly refusing her request.
Their conversation was interrupted by the loud sound of a banger shot through the air. Maxwell looked up as the full moon illuminated the surroundings; the full moon celebration has already started.
"I told these people to wait for me, and they began without me!" Maxwell said excitedly, then looked at Gabriella.
"Alright, Gabriella, I wish you good luck in your new life. As you can see, I have to be with the others right away, and most especially, Caleb doesn't have to stay without me!" Maxwell said, then left her behind and shut the door before her eyes.
Gabriella was traumatized at this moment. She couldn't believe that she was leaving now. At this hour, she had hoped it would be her best moment. Today was supposed to be the day Caleb would finally make her his wife and crown her the new Luna, with him becoming the true alpha.
She thought that she could have been celebrating with Caleb now, especially after breaking the pregnancy news to him. The feeling could have been very different, but Immaculate had finally succeeded in her plan.
She looked at the building once again, then shook her head and headed down to the valley of the mountain. Their pack was located at the crest of the mountain.
As Gabriella started heading to nowhere, she had nowhere in mind to go, but she had no choice.
Gabriella is 19 years old, was fair in complexion with an attractive long thick black hair, and captivating eyes. She was not short, she's average of height.
As she headed down the valley of the mountain, she could sense nothing but animals hovering around and the sounds of birds, as well as the sounds of the moving waters of the nearby lake. Passing through the lake, the water was so cold within her legs.
Immediately she dipped her leg into the water, she felt the coldness and then decided to pour some water on her face. Just as the water fell on her head, she remembered how she met Caleb.
It was that night during the full moon celebration when she left home to go look for Immaculate at the pack to deliver an important message to her. When she got there, she was taken away by the excitement of the celebration.
Having so much fun of being part of this celebration for the first time, her hair became rough and drinks was splashed on her face. She decided to use the bathroom.
Getting to the bathroom she turned the shower on, and as the water poured over her head, was the exact moment she noticed the door of the bathroom being opened by someone. She looked, and it was Caleb. That was the beginning of her breakthrough from being an ordinary lone wolf, freeing from Immaculate's bondage.
But now it all ended this way. Gabriella, remembering this, was so disheartening as tears rolled down from her eyes, joining the water she poured on her head, and together they fell into the lake.
Then she opened her eyes, looking at her reflection in the lake. Her eyes were becoming golden as she felt furs growing within her skin. Her wolf was taking over.
DARK MOON PACK.
Caleb stood beside his window, gazing at the amazing reflection of the moon with his hands folded.
A knock came at his door. "Come in," he said as Maxwell pushed the door open and walked in.
"I noticed you weren't around with us outside for the celebration," Maxwell said as he approached Caleb, who remained silent.
"Caleb, you shouldn't be bothering too much about her. You just have to let go. Immaculate is around, at least. She genuinely loves you and is willing to do anything for you," Maxwell said, knowing that Caleb was thinking about Gabriella.
Caleb took a deep breath and adjusted his shirt, then approached Maxwell. "You know, I was thinking, if what she was accused of... I don't think she really did that," Caleb said.
"Caleb, she wasn't accused. We all saw the video, right...? I know you loved her, but what you did was right. She doesn't deserve you," Maxwell advised.
"I was also thinking, why the hell did your dad have to sleep with her when he knows that she's my mate?" Caleb said with a loud, angered voice.
"Don't get this wrong. My dad is not the one to be blamed for this. She could have reported to you if she really didn't want to do it, but she obviously wanted to. You see why you shouldn't blame my dad? He helped you discover her true nature. She's not faithful," Maxwell advised, noticing that Caleb was already getting angry.
Hearing his statement, Caleb started calming down and breathed out in frustration.
"The full moon is still on. Go out there now and mark your mate. You know, the mating bond was what delayed your last coronation as the legitimate Alpha...?" Maxwell asked as he approached closer to Caleb, who was only looking at the floor.
His silence already gave Maxwell his answer, causing Maxwell to shake his head in disbelief.
"Caleb, you cannot do this! You don't have to wait until the next full moon. Obviously, you know what will happen if you miss this full moon again. You have missed before, but now? There could be contenders to take over as the Alpha. You have two other brothers," Maxwell advised, referring to Cane and Cosmos, Caleb's brothers.
Though Caleb is the alpha now, that's true, but he is not yet legitimate. He will surely be after he chooses his mate during the full moon. Only then can he be well recognised as the alpha. He only has two full moon months to choose, or his younger brothers will contest. That's how their traditions work in this pack. It was established by Caleb's grandfather, and that was how Caleb's dad inherited the alpha title. He wasn't the first son entitled to become the alpha.
If Caleb fails to choose his mate after this full moon, as he has already exhausted his first chance, any of his brothers can take a mate and contest for the position, leading to bloodshed. That's exactly what Maxwell was advising Caleb to avoid.
"Caleb, even if it's not Immaculate, you must choose a mate tonight. I don't want you to lose your place as the Alpha of this pack," Maxwell urged, trying hard to pressure Caleb into choosing a mate tonight.
"It's alright. I understand your care for me, and I believe you are right. I really have to mark my mate tonight. I know I have to," Caleb said, assuring himself and Maxwell.
"But how would you feel if I still don't choose your sister? I know you all wanted your sister for me instead," Caleb asked.
"I would feel nothing, but like always, I would feel pity because she's my sister. But that doesn't keep me from being happy for you. Come on, it's your night!" Maxwell said, shrugging his shoulders, leaving Caleb gazing at him silently.
"The Luna, your brothers, your sister are all downstairs waiting for you to come choose your mate. There are also other hot female omegas you can choose from if you feel like my sister is not your type. Come on, let's go," Maxwell said, awaiting Caleb to make a move.
The Woods.
The last thing Gabriella remembered was her wolf taking over at the lake.
Now she found herself in the middle of the woods.
"Where am I?" she muttered, looking around in fear. She had no idea where she was; this place was unfamiliar to her.
A sudden sound behind her made her quickly turn back, but she saw nothing. Then she started sensing sudden movements all around her, the rustling of leaves and branches, causing panic to rise within her.
