Chapter 2 Live in the moment

The rays of the sun emitted into a small dark studio apartment showing the carved wardrobe, a small chandelier, a cabinet properly arranged with bottle of skin products, an alarm clock that is about to be rang and a bed with a lady sleeping In hoodie. The alarm rang and Edna sat up staring into an empty space with a stone dead eye.

"Ahhhhhh" she said crawling out the bed and walking into the kitchen. She made some soup for her headache which she drank quickly as she rushed into the bathroom to get rid of the last night stench from her body. Her number one hygiene quote is a good smell keeps badluck away and if there was anytime she needed the luck, it was now.

Coming outside from the bathroom, she sat back at her laptop with her white towel properly tied to her sumptuous chest and her head towel tied like an African head gear with water dripping from her body. She sat down like someone that needed hope.

From the bench to the bar and this night was going to be the tribute to her "figuring out days". She hoped to get the job as she was already running out of cash and patience and if she doesn't she would have to go back to her old life without caring for the depressed side of her anymore.

"I got this" she said, before staring deeply at the laptop to check the letter the writing company sent.

"Your application has been rejected " was boldly written at the top. Without any abrupt reaction,Edna picked up her steps and sunk into her bed. This is the first time she has ever been rejected in her life, she has always been good enough for everyone.

She squeezed her pillow to her chest crying as her phone rang, she picked the calls. "Hello,Eddie. Why don't you have you s**t together by now?are you a kid? And why are you still on that aimless siesta? You're wasting your time." Her mother's tiny, ear-piercing voice was heard. She cut off the call and sighed thinking of how she can end the break even when she feels that something is not right and how she can go back to old life if her mentality about her realities are shaking. Hugo was the last straw that broke on the camel's back in her old life as she wouldn't want to go back as she still carried the guilt for using him she said as she cried more till she slept off thinking to herself "nothing seems to matter anymore......"

The drops of rain on the roof woke Edna. "Outing would cheer me up" She stood up, walked to the wardrobe and took up her short flare black leather skirt, a white cropped top and a pair of boots. " The style is monochrome " she laughed. She styled her hair and took her small hermes bag to complement the look.

"Fashion makes everything better"she said silently while walking on the road. "Not one of this people could guess what or how I'm feeling because I look great."Her dark skin gleaming under the sun with her curly hair bouncing on and off her body and her strides "oh gosh! does Edna knows how to walk" she taunts herself with a smile.

The smell of a hot brewing coffee filled the air drawing Edna to go into the coffee shop. While sipping the hot coffee, she saw some people laughing with their friends, some had people around but it seemed like they came for a serious business, some were alone like her. Even though the start of the day was tough, she was feeling happy. That's strange, because Edna Parker hardly gets this kind of feelings. Had she known staying around humans made her happy she would started three month ago. Maybe then she wouldn't have had to quit her job and start all over.

She went to the checkout to pay but her card was declined. " That was rare" she was still in awe when she heard a feminine voice "I'll pay for it." The person offered. Edna stared at her as she was paying, her long blonde hair swaying under the light breeze ,a bright smile on her face and her almond blue eyes going back and forth, from Edna to the waiter. Her name was Lily. 'She is pretty' Edna thought.

They took a walk home together. While they were chatting Edna felt better, it was like the whole world which was like a burden on her shoulder started breaking to bits. Maybe the word 'two head is better than one' was right anyways. Chatting with a stranger was something she would have never before.Maybe its wasn't bad after all but she definitely knew that something was different about this 'lily' girl. She said while looking at her.

Lily wondered why this girl doesn't smile. She wanted to ask but she didn't want to be tag as forward. Maybe she would have her own bestie now. She thought and smiled hoping that Edna would smile back. She decided to give up that she was ever going to smile at her and asked her for her number instead as Edna continued saying thing that could not understand the genesis of.

"Yunno if this is what happiness really feels like. I dont wanna lose it.She muttered. I wanna start having fun and I want to start by breaking what seems to be my definition of realities one after the other and probably see the world for what it truly is, but I'm definitely not breaking my 'no love' reality because that was one of the thing she decided herself and also because it sucks" she said to Lily who was just smiling along having absolutely no idea of what prompted the statement but smiled and listened because she felt Edna needed someone to talk to and someone to listen.

Walks makes it seem like it not far away, and with every step you take, you get better.
