Chapter 3 A Chanced Meeting

As morning broke, she woke to a warm, golden light and the sweet scent of blooming flowers. The world outside was coming alive, and she felt invigorated, ready to take on the day. With a smile, she rose from the bed, feeling refreshed and renewed, ready to deliver her goods and spread joy.

Emily wore a white neat T-shirt and a black skirt that was below her knees with a white face cap to start her day as she walked to take her breakfast before leaving "You not doing to give mummy a kiss before going? Said Sonia as she walked up to Emily her daughter " really sorry mum I have an undelivered package I have to deliver today so I was in a rush Mum" Emily replied as she sat down to eat her meal " that's remind me what work are you into you never told anyone about it your dad is worried" Sonia said with a curious eye facing her daughter " mum is a delivery work please don't tell dad cause he will be very worried, and take care of yourself" Emily said as the stood up and gave her mother a kiss before walking out of the door " take care of yourself please don't stress yourself my princess" Sonia said " I will mum" Emily replied and drove off.

Upon arriving at the Thompson's house she rang the doorbell to announce her arrival " I'm coming" said an old voice from inside the house, " please come in it open" said again the voice from inside the house.

As she stepped into the grand estate, she was taken aback by the breathtaking beauty of the expensive mansion' lush gardens' and sleek cars parked with the immaculately manicured compound. " so beautiful" she said to herself as she walked inside the living room she met an elderly woman " good day ma I'm looking for mrs Mia Thompson" " yes I am the one" replied mia " oh ma you ordered a cake from Mc restaurant I came by yesterday to deliver it to you but I ran the door bell multiple time and there were no replied ma that why I came today to deliver it to you as early as possible" Emily said while dropping the package on the table " thanks dear I really want to surprise my grandson is not his birthday just a gift form a grand ma to a grand son" Mia said as she took the package from a table with a smiling face " I don't know if you can help me with the surprise I will be very grateful" Mia added " that's not a problem ma I will be glad to help ma" Emily said as she drop her bag on the chair close to her " thanks allot my son will be coming back early today because there is no much work to do at this workplace" Mia said as she stood up and walked towards the kitchen " grand ma is there anything I could do to make the work faster for you" Emily said as she walked toward Mia and they both walked into the kitchen to prepare Mia's grand son favorite dish tacos and nachos " grand ma you are very good at cooking someday I will come and learn more from you" Emily said with a smile on her face " my dear I had to learn this from a Mexican lady back then in 1920, and I became perfect with it and also became my grandson's favorite dish" Mia said as the smiles back at Emily who was staring at her with much interest " could you help me take this to the dinning room my son will be on his way" Mia said as she walked toward the living room with some plate' Emily followed her with the remaining plate.

The food was served "What's your name I'm sorry I didn't ask for it earlier" Mia said to Emily "My name is Emily Brooks" Emily replied with a smile on her face. In the middle of their conversation the doorbell rang "Oh my precious boy is back" Mia said as she hurried towards the door.

A tall, young man walked into the room, his athletic build and chiseled features turning heads. Dark hair framed his face, while piercing blue eyes sparkled with intensity, drawing all eyes to "The atmosphere is catching, good day ma" Ethan said as he bent downward to kiss his grandma on her forehead " I prepare something for you at the dining room go and freshen up and meet me at the dinning you" Mia said as she walked to the living room to meet Emily who was waiting patiently for her. A few minutes Ethan came to join them in the dining room "And what is granny celebrating again with a visitor" Ethan said as he sat down close to his grandma " I just decided to make your favorite dish and give you a little surprise cause you have been busy lately at work 'and she came to deliver the cake over there and also helped me with the dishes" Mia said then she turned to Emily to introduce herself. Emily who was lost in her thought couldn't stop staring at Ethan "Hi I'm Emily Brooks" said Emily " I'm Ethan Thompson nice to meet you " Ethan said with a smile on his face as he stretched his hand to give Emily a handshake, Emily who desires to touch him so dearly stretch her hand to return the hand sake and she smiled back too . " we can have our meal now" Mia said as she stood up to dish everyone's food. Emily and Ethan stared at themselves still the little surprise party was over
