CHAPTER THREE

Annabella left the bridal store, her heart heavy with the weight of her decision to end her engagement with Alpha Deaton.

She knew for a fact that she would be used and betrayed by him in the next four years.

He added to her painful death and she wasn't ready for history to repeat itself.

She was given a second chance to live and Annabella wanted to gladly use the second chance to live her life in happiness, and peace.

As she made her way home, she braced herself for the confrontation she was going to face at home.

She got outside the bridal store and flagged down a taxi.

Annabella wallowed herself in her new life as she began to think of what to do with her life and Alpha Deaton's last statement.

" Did he say pregnant?"

She scoffed out, laughing maniacally.

She had cut off the engagement she had with Alpha Deaton but she needed to find herself some peace and a plan for life.

Annabella decided to leave her parent's house and become independent.

She was still in her thoughts when the cab man intruded her thoughts.

" We have arrived at your destination,"

Annabella glanced out the window to see the huge gate of the Packhouse. She hopped out of the cab and paid the cab man.

She prepared herself to meet her mother, and upon arriving inside, she met the icy glare of her mother, Luna Mary.

It was a side of her mother she hadn't seen since her rebirth, and it made her blood run cold.

" Annabella, what happened at the bridal store?"

" I call off my engagement with Alpha Deaton, I don't want to marry him," Annabella responded.

" How could you do this to our family and Pack?" Mary shouted, her voice filled with anger and disappointment.

" You must go back to Alpha Deaton and beg for his forgiveness. He's a good Alpha, and you're lucky to have him. Weren't you the one that said you wanted to get married to him, now when your life dream is about to come true, you want to cut off the engagement. No, I won't allow that!"

Annabel scoffed.

Luna Mary wasn't nice like she had thought for her whole life.

She was glad she saw who her mother truly was just before death came knocking at her door.

" I won't marry him, Mother. I don't love him anymore! Don't I deserve to be with someone who makes me happy?" She questioned, holding onto her mini bag to control her tears.

Luna Mary's face contorted with rage, and her voice grew louder.

" You are an ungrateful child! I've worked so hard to secure this match for you, and you want to throw it all away on a whim? You will marry him, or you'll be banished from this Pack! Do you know how much it took him to convince his family beyond reasonable thought that you are part of us?"

Blanche, Annabella's sister, who had been watching the heated exchange with a mix of curiosity and malice intervened, taking Annabella's arm in a supportive gesture.

" Annabella, you know how much you love Alpha Deaton," Blanche stated, her voice dripping with sympathy.

" Everyone can see it. Don't throw away your chance of happiness. He's a good man, and he cares for you and his Pack deeply."

Annabella was taken aback by her family's insistence on pushing her to marry Alpha Deaton, and the apparent cruelty of their actions felt like a knife twisting in her gut.

Their wild belief that he was the perfect match only made her feel more trapped and suffocated by their expectations.

" I don't love him," She repeated, her voice trembling with emotion.

" I won't marry someone I don't love. Please, try to understand. I deserve to be with someone who truly makes me happy."

Luna Mary's anger boiled over, and she pointed a finger at Annabel, her voice filled with venom.

" You have one week to fix this, or you'll be banished from this Pack! Don't think I won't follow through with my threat. You'll marry Alpha Deaton or you'll be disowned and left with nothing!"

'' I'm left with nothing already. Father blindly willed everything to Veneto and even crowned him as the future Alpha of this Pack even when he isn't his biological child leaving his only biological child with nothing, I..." Annabel said.

Luna Mary's resounding slap cut through Annabella's words as her phone began to ring.

'' Sis...''

Blanche tried to talk when Annabella cut her off by leaving the house.

As she headed outside, she bumped into a figure outside the Pack's house.

She looked up to see a familiar face.

Alpha Adonis Kensington.

He looked at her with a blank emotion on his face.

" Are you Alpha Monroe's daughter? Blanche's sister? I guess you are the one with those eyes I'm looking at." He said coolly.

" Do we resemble each other?" Annabella asked, and he took his lower lip in.

" Not at all, I could see that desperation and weakness in your eyes,"

" What! " She was stunned at his words.

Annabella gazed at him and realized why his face looked familiar to her.

He turned out to be the man her step-sister was supposed to get married to.

It was her first time meeting him, as she had never met him before in her past life.

She had only seen his picture when Blanche introduced him to her in her past life, and surprisingly, the picture got stuck in her head for a long time.

He happened to be the Alpha of one of the strongest Pack in Asia, Shadonis Pack.

" I guess I'm right one more time,"

Annabella was about to reply to him when the gate opened, and she saw her step-sister, Blanche, mounting on him happily.

" Alpha Adonis I'm glad you are here,"

Annabella could see that happiness in Blanche's eyes and then, she realized the new phase of life she wanted to follow.

" I'm going to marry Alpha Adonis. Blanche, you want him and sadly, I'm beginning to crave for him." Annabella said inwardly.
