Chapter 4 A Strange New World

Rebecca sighed out the breath she never knew she was holding, she sat on one of the couches as she took off her heels moaning out in satisfaction. "That can be really frustrating", a voice snapped her out of her thoughts as she shrieked in horror. "Calm down ma'am, I'm the maid assigned to you by the master", Niya said with a smile. "You frightened me", Rebecca said, placing a hand on her chest.

"Sorry ma'am, why don't I take you to your room so you can freshen up while the chef prepares dinner", Niya said as Rebecca nodded, Niya collected the heels from her as Rebecca walked up the stairs barefooted as they headed for her new room. Her room was located on the south side of the mansion so it was exposed to sunlight and the forest side of the land. As Niya switched on the lights, Rebecca gasped in shock as she looked around, everything was white, not a droplet of color around it, it was spacious and cold due to the air conditioning that was switched on. "Make yourself at home ma'am" bowing deeply, Niya walked out of the room shutting the door behind her. Rebecca sighed in comfort as she slipped out of her dress, it was tight and too uncomfortable. She looked through some of the drawers till she found some skincare products. Kilian doesn't look like one who doesn't have anything in his name, by the look of things he looked richer than Philip. She wiped off her makeup as she patted her skin feeling refreshed. "Makeup is such a burden", she said with an eye roll as she walked into the bathroom, she had a cool shower as her clenched muscles relaxed. She fell on the bed, her wet hair sprawled on it as she allowed the cold air to slip into her body, making her comfortable. Rebecca didn't know when she fell asleep, but Kilian was downstairs waiting for his supposed wife for almost 5 minutes seeing that she hadn't come down yet he stood up himself and went up to her room. Getting to her room it was locked, shaking his head in disdain, he grabbed a spare key from his pocket as he unlocked the door. As he walked in, he saw his newly wedded wife on the bed asleep, she looked so cute as she slept, her long eyelashes fluttering. Kilian knew that he wasn't supposed to be looking at his newly wedded wife or rather Rebecca in this sort of manner. Rebecca felt as though someone was watching her, had her eyes fluttered open, her eyes jammed with those of a raven colored eyes, she jumped up in fear as she stared dead at Killian, who just stared at her with a bored face. "Don't you know that dinner is already served?", Kilian asks Rebecca who was still in shock by his sudden appearance. "I-I am sorry, I was just so tired and I fell asleep immediately after I showered but I'm just wondering what you were doing in my room and what are you still doing in my room?", Rebecca asked Kilian trying not to seem rude but it wasn't right to sneak into a lady's room. "Who do you think you are to question me?, don't forget that this is my house and also, you are my wife just because I choose not to sleep in the same room with you doesn't mean I can't enter your room the way I please", Kilian said getting irritated by this lady they called his wife. "I didn't mean it that way, honestly I was just startled by the way I found someone in my room. I'll just change my clothes now and come down for dinner", Rebecca said, avoiding direct eye contact with Kilian who rolled his eyes as he walked out of the room. "Arrg he is so annoying", she said. Rebecca stomped her foot on the ground, she quickly brushed that off her mind as she looked around the room trying to find something to wear, soon she found a walk through closet that contains various designer wears like Dior, Chanel, Adidas, Louis Vuitton, and the likes that she had not even seen in her entire life. Maybe getting married to this man wasn't really a bad idea but they hadn't even gotten intimate and it was their wedding night, he just seemed as if the wedding was some kind of program and not a matrimonial ceremony. She quickly picked out a Chanel pajamas as she went on styling her hair into a messy ponytail. Making sure that everything was in place, she left her room but she wandered through the large fortress, she couldn't locate the dining room, she was sure that killian would possibly hang her because she had wasted up to five minutes trying to locate the dining as she was about to make another turn, a large hand gripped her waist as the person pulled her towards him and she crashed into a hard chest. She looked up meeting the annoyed gaze of her husband and she smiled awkwardly as she placed her hands on his chest. "Is it so difficult to locate the dining area?", Kilian asked, staring at the little figure engulfed in his arms. "I'm not really familiar with the structure of your house so I got a bit lost hope you aren't angry though?", Rebecca acts looking at Killian with big doe eyes, kilian shook his head at her attempt of being pitiful. "Shit, I don't even know what to say about all this, we just got married today and you are already pulling stunts, if not because of my father's business I wouldn't be married to such a weakling", Kilian shook his head as he let go of Rebecca walking away. Rebecca tried her best to keep up with Killian as they walked back to the dining area. Kilian had long legs so it took her like two steps to catch up with him and he wasn't even slowing down despite her panting. The dining room was decorated like the one Rebecca saw in British movies, she looked around in awe as Killian shook his head, taking his seat. "Stop staring around as if you haven't been to a dining before", Kilian said as he shook his head, Rebecca could only roll her eyes as she took her seat.
