Chapter 5 5

Agent P's POV:

I don't know much about regular civilian mom's. My mom was an agent, and her Mom, and so forth..

I've had a few civilian mom friends and they seem to deal with rebellions, and technology as their main teenager troubles.

But never have they had their kid tell them not to die.....

.... Atleast not from what they've told me....

I'm guessing they might get annoyed at their next generation, phone- addicted teen for being so cocky...

Or wondering of their kid thinks they aren't strong enough, bold enough, capable enough...

But I know for me, as an agent and a mom, I know that "Don't die Mom" can be the sweetest thing your kids can say as you leave for a mission.

Of course it might go both ways.

My one friend goes off on her kid for assuming she could die on the mission.

That's not me either.

I suppose it may have something to do with the fact that I've thought my daughter was gone for 19 years.

I used to be so filled with love whenever Lorah said "Don't die Mommy!" as a child.

But since he's been a teenager I usually laugh and remind him how tough his mother is.

However, hearing it from my long lost daughter brings tears to my eyes.

I watch her go on further with tears in my eyes.

"Be safe my darling".

A second after a thought that, I flipped out of the way from the color of a laser beam falling on my right hand.

A small sizzling noise and smoke emits from a hole created where my hand just was.

"That would have killed me? For real?" I questioned in my head, "it had done very little to the stone rooftop I was on top of.

I hid behind a stone pillar on the roof, and looked out to figure out if they were still on to me.

I noticed out of the corner of my turned focus that some droids were watching Sicily.

I bit my lip in worry, "Sicily please look around!" I thought

I saw the glare of the robot zero in on her. If I screamed "Watch out!!" The other robots would notice her and eliminated her even faster.

I was in agony trying to figure out what to do

I felt hopeless as a mother, the only thing I thought to do...

BANG!

I dropped two mini bombs down at them

Immediately an explosion of mini metal particles sprayed all over the street, letting me know the mini-bombs were effective

But....was that quick enough for their eyes not to have landed on Sicily?

I wondered, my eyes darting upwards to where Sicily was.

The wide stone pole she was hiding behind, on the roof, had been sliced in half. The top of it had fallen off, and Sicily was not behind it

My heart sank

"Oh where are you Sicily?!" I wondered, clasping my hand over my mouth for fear that the robots had heard the worried gasps that had left my mouth as I worried about my daughter

Beep bop

These freaky combat bots had discovered my location and now all ten of them in my general vicinity were after me.

"I HATE TECHNOLOGY!!!!" I yelled as I kept their freaky, laser gaze from falling on me and turning me into microscopic Agent P particles.

I ducked behind a corner and then gasped in surprise at what I saw there.

Sicily passed out in shock but seemingly unhurt, and Drew trying to get her to come to.

"Is she OK?" I whispered, rushing up to them

"Yeah, she fainted in shock, I guess realizing that she was almost killed. The bot stared right at her and I caught her just in time. Next thing I knew she gasped in surprised that she was still alive, and then fainted.

"Pffft" I'm a terrible mother but that sounds a bit funny, being shocked about a close call like that.

"She ought to be used to it" I chuckled, stroking her chin, "She's been an Agent since she was an infant"

"I know. But it helped me realize that underneath our invincible agent skill and status, we're still human" Drew said thoughtfully.

He then looked at Sicily, "Come on Sicily, wake up. I've got you" He said affectionately

After a few more moments of is calling to her gently, the poor dear finally opened her eyes.

She woke up to find Drew looking down at her smiling.

"Oh crap!!" She jumped up, "How are you here?"

"I made it to Alaska and flew around, scoping the area, searching for the base.

It finally hit me after I had covered miles and miles of land, Alaska is Ace territory, we never had a base there!!

I realized Ten had tricked me"

"Oh" Sicily grinned sheepishly. I could tell she seemed a bit disappointed that he had found out so I figured she was trying to stay away from him.

At her petition, Drew let Sicily down and we helped her to her feet.

"Are you OK sweetie?" I asked her

"I'm fine" Sicily said, nodding profusely at Drew, hoping he'd get the hint and go back to the agency.

"Alright, be careful Sicily" Drew said

He leaned in to kiss her but she moved back, clearly annoyed, and ducked behind me.

Drew threw up his hands in defense, "Alright I get it, I'm leaving". He sighed and sprinted off into the night

Beep bop

"Duck!!!" Sicily yelled.

I dropped to my knees and missed a laser by a split second.

"Ugh I knew they would find us before long!" I said, "Let's split up!"

Sicily nodded as we began running.

"Mom let's talk later, I really need your advice on something...you know, agent to agent"

"Sure thing swe....I mean Agent 2.0" I saluted.

Sicily stopped, seeming to understand how I was feeling

"Actually, let's talk mother to daughter. I could use some motherly advice right now" she smiled at me.

Tears came into my eyes before I could stop them.

"Oh....and you can call me sweetie." Sicily winked, "I am your little girl after all"

I hugged her close, "Thank you Sicily, you just made my day"

"You're welcome Mom" she waved as we parted company.
