Chapter 5 where were you planning to go

Even Daenerys was accidentally injured, though fortunately, it wasn't serious.

"No matter how big the misunderstanding, you can't act so violently. Now, the other party is making a big deal about pressing charges against you! Since you're both students, I've already informed your guardians."

Daenerys, who had been silent, furrowed her brows upon hearing this. "You notified my guardian? Which guardian?"

"Of course, the guardian listed in your records."

"Austin?" Daenerys's voice involuntarily rose.

"I'm not sure who it is exactly. Another officer was responsible for the notification. You'll find out soon enough."

Daenerys's face turned pale. At first, she remained calm, but the thought that they might have already called Austin made her feel uneasy.

She kept glancing toward the door, her heart pounding with anxiety.

Lyly patted her reassuringly. "Alright, don't worry so much. We were just defending ourselves; our families won't blame us."

"Your parents might not, but I'm not so sure about my Alpha Austin. Besides..." Daenerys recalled her stubborn confrontation with Austin just a few hours earlier, making her feel even more frustrated. "I just said I wouldn't cause him any more trouble, and now I'm making him come deal with this. He's definitely going to be even angrier. And if he finds out I was planning to secretly take a train, he might just tear me apart."

Lyly, seeing her expression, didn't think she was joking.

There was a hint of sympathy in her eyes. "Is your Alpha Austin really that terrifying?"

"You'll find out soon enough," Daenerys murmured, slumping over the table, feeling like a condemned prisoner awaiting execution.

Twenty minutes later.

Just as Daenerys was about to doze off, the police station suddenly became very lively.

"Alpha Austin, what brings you here so late? Please, come in! Come in!"

The speaker was the police chief, and his tone was incredibly enthusiastic.

The moment Daenerys heard the words "Alpha Austin," she snapped awake.

She quickly sat up straight, her hands nervously resting on her knees.

Lyly, still half-asleep, rubbed her eyes and said, "Your Alpha Austin is here? Make sure he gets me out too. My family isn't in the country right now, so they definitely can't be reached. I really don't want to be stuck here for two days."

Before Daenerys could respond, a police officer approached them, no longer the cold, stern figure from before. He was now incredibly polite. "Daenerys, Miss Anderson, please follow me. Alpha Austin is waiting for you."

Without a word, Daenerys stood up, bracing herself as she walked out.

Lyly let out a surprised sound and said, "Talk about a complete 180. Who exactly is your Alpha Austin?"

The two of them walked out together.

Meanwhile, in Lyly's mind, she kept trying to picture what Daenerys's Alpha Austin might look like.

Based on Daenerys's descriptions, he must be a middle-aged man with a big belly, balding, and very fierce.

As they walked, Daenerys's heart raced with anxiety.

From a distance, she saw Austin standing with his arms crossed by the window.

He hadn't turned around yet, but the warm yellow light in the police station cast a glow over his silhouette, making it difficult for Daenerys to breathe.

She took a deep breath, mustered all her courage, and stepped forward. "Alpha Austin."

Lyly thought to herself, Daenerys's Alpha Austin doesn't look like the pig-headed man she described. Then she too greeted him, "Alpha Austin."

Austin slowly turned around.

His gaze locked onto the young girl's face, and after a long moment, the corners of his mouth lifted slightly, but he remained silent.

The deep, dark look in his eyes made Daenerys feel guilty.

No matter the reason, a student being in the police station was never a good thing.

Beside her, Lyly looked up at Austin's face, her eyes nearly popping out of her head.

She tugged at Daenerys's sleeve, whispering frantically, "Daenerys, is this really your Alpha Austin?"

Daenerys felt helpless.

Was it really necessary to be this shocked?

"I thought you said he was always acting superior because he's old, but he doesn't look old at all. He's so young and even very..." The words "handsome" were about to slip out of Lyly's mouth when Daenerys cut her off, annoyed, "Just be quiet!"

"He doesn't look like the fierce demon you described!"

Lyly tried to keep her voice down, but she was so excited that some of her words inevitably reached Austin's ears.

His eyes grew even darker, making Daenerys too scared to look directly at him.

Are you trying to get us killed?

Inside, she was full of regret, wishing she could silence Lyly's incessant chatter.

"Take Miss Anderson to sign the paperwork and release her," Austin finally spoke, but it was with a cold tone, addressing Ricard.

Ricard responded and motioned for Lyly to follow him.

Lyly exchanged a look with Daenerys before following Ricard out.

Now, the room was left with just Austin and Daenerys.

Daenerys felt even more nervous.

"So, in your eyes, I'm a demon," Austin said, hands behind his back.

His tone gave nothing away, making it impossible to tell if he was pleased or angry.

The more he spoke this way, the more terrified Daenerys felt.

"No, Alpha Austin, you...! Actually, she misunderstood what I meant." Daenerys tried to explain, but her words were jumbled, completely unconvincing.

Whether Austin believed her or not, his eyes grew even darker, and he took a step toward her with his long, intimidating strides. "Daenerys, have I underestimated you? I never knew you could fight."

Feeling at a loss, Daenerys lowered her head. "I wasn't like this before; today was...! It was an accident."

"An accident, huh?"

Austin raised an eyebrow and his gaze dropped to her hand, where he immediately noticed the injury.

The wound wasn't light.

A gash ran from her index finger to the back of her hand, with dried blood crusted over the wound.

But even with the blood dried up, the sight of it was still alarming to him.

His brows furrowed slightly.

He remembered the last time she was injured was over a year ago when she slipped at home and fell down the stairs.

At that time, he was on a business trip, but he flew back that very night, furious, venting his anger on many of the household staff. Only the long-serving housekeeper, Sandra, remained in the Black Wolf pack.

Since that day, everyone in the house knew that this girl was the apple of Alpha Austin's eye, someone he treasured.

Everyone was careful, not daring to let her suffer the slightest injury.

Yet she had no idea.

Austin's face tightened. "Your hand, let me see it."

Daenerys, fearing he would scold her, tried to brush it off lightly. "You don't need to look. It's fine, just a minor injury."

Austin wasn't in the mood to argue.

He shot her a stern look and grabbed her hand, pulling it towards him.

His grip wasn't gentle, and Daenerys winced in pain, her brows knitting together. "It hurts."

Austin reprimanded her harshly, "If it's just a minor injury, then why are you complaining about the pain?"

Daenerys, scared, shrank back, biting her lip, not daring to make another sound.

Austin stared at the wound, his expression growing even more displeased.

"What happened?" he asked in a low voice.

"I wasn't careful."

"How weren't you careful?"

"It happened during the fight, I wasn't careful."

"Why were you fighting?"

"Lyly and I were about to board the train when someone stole our wallet. We thought they were the thief."

"Boarding a train? Where were you planning to go?" Austin's tone was laced with danger.
