Chapter 6
Mr. Smith was the kind of ultra-optimistic person who would laugh at others for panic-buying supplies. When I found him, he was just about to go on vacation to Oraburn. Seeing me approach him first left him utterly shocked.
Eventually, he had no choice but to accept the reality of the looming crisis. After tossing the documents to me, he rushed off urgently to stock up on supplies.
I didn't allow myself any time to revel in the joy of an unexpected fortune. Instead, I immediately headed to a real estate agency, resigning from my job along the way.
I successfully purchased a villa with two underground levels. The villa was already simply furnished and move-in ready.
Without a moment's rest, I hired a construction team to reinforce and heighten the villa's walls, topping them with broken glass and electric fencing. The roof was covered with solar panels, and the basement walls were insulated. I also installed air conditioning and multiple surveillance cameras both inside and outside the house.
Time was of the essence, so I paid extra for expedited overtime work.
