Chapter 2 Predator Meets Prey

Ella's POV

Wilfred Mansion

As soon as I got home, I heard noise from within the mansion and I instantly knew I was in for a fight settlement session. In, I met my younger siblings wresting over a damn remote! And my twin brother just sat there plastic-faced like a ballerina.

"Stop!"I yelled

" Sissy. I was here on my own watching strawberry shortcake peacefully until Drake showed up and switched it to that boring Cartoon Network. "Daisy chested

Obviously trying to convict herself before the trial even starts

" I see that's the latest way of welcoming your beloved sister huh! "I playfully pulled her cheeks.

" Welcome back Sissy" Daisy corrected herself

And Drake? That guy kept quiet

"Looks like someone isn't happy to see his sister back home. I'll just ......." I winked

"Good afternoon Big Sis." Drake murmured.

"So why did you change the channel when you knew your sister was watching her favourite show?"

"Because I'm the boss (Emmanuel coughed) well after Brother Nuel I'm the man of the house. So anything I want, I get." He shrugged

The male gender and ego ehn. This one is already claiming boss.

I took a deep breath before bending to his height "Drakiie" I said in a low tone "You could have gone to the other lounge or your room to watch whatever channel you desire to instead of choosing to make you twinnie cry. You even picked a fight with her, you're meant to protect her."

Realizing his mistake, he went to Daisy and ruffled her hair in a playful manner mumbling a" Sorry " to her. The delicate girl also apologized and they both watched Disney Junior together

Now that's how to make peace between your younger siblings.

" Emmanuel Omololu Ade-Wilfred- best big brother of the year "I clapped

"Miss Emmanuella Omolade Ade-Wilfred - typical peacemaking sister what's up." he replied face glued to his phone

"Those kids were fighting and you were prettily seated here like the golden statue saying nothing. Those kids could have........."

"........ Hurt themselves or even damaged stuffs in the house all thanks to your negligence, Emmanuel why are you like this. " He completed the statement for me.

" Those kids were pulling off an interesting show back there bad thing you didn't get to watch it. It reminded me of when we were kids. "Nuel scoffed

" And if they had hurt themselves? "I queried

" If they hurt themselves they would know better than to pick fights at the slightest opportunities. We learnt ours the hard way remember? " He argued on

" You know what keep up the good work. I'm off to my room. "

" Bye sis" he blew a kiss

I was on the last stair when I heard my brother say something

"Aunt Nini's coming over so better not stay long up there."

Say no more brother

I rushed in and took my shower as quickly as possible and hurried downstairs to prepare my darling Aunt's favourite

Homemade cookie and smoothies

After I placed the dough in the oven I instructed a chef to check it from time to time since I didn't put on the timer and left for the lounge

It's Zee o'clock

You must be wondering why I didn't ask a domestic worker to prepare the meal in the first place. Well I don't rely on people to get my work done unlike Nuel who would gladly ask a house help to bathe him if it wasn't a matter of privacy

I was about to go check on the cookie myself when I heard a car honk.

She's here!

I decided to feign ignorance but at the sound of the door I ran to the door "Mamá!! I missed you so so much. How's Uncle B, How's the businesses going. Hope no stressful cases at hand. How was your couple's getaway You must tell me everything about it."

"Too many questions hindu. But all I would tell you is that I'm fine and I trust you are too." Aunt Nini hugged me tight

"Sure I'm absolutely fine. Sit. I'll get you something to cool of off. Meanwhile prepare for my 'Too many questions' as you put it."

I fetched the snack and returned to the lounge where I met Drake and Daisy already on Aunt Nini's lap. Drake was playing games on her phone while Daisy played with her hair

AUNT NINI : Thanks so much hunny I love you more than anything else in the world.

ME:Me or the Snack

AUNT NINI:Both of you (trying to change the topic) Guess what!

ME: Uncle Bami is also coming

AUNT NINI : Try harder

ME:Another business idea?

AUNT NINI: Hmm. No

ME:I'm no longer guessing. What's up?

AUNT NINI: Fine! Remember that case against Don Dada?

ME:Yes what about it

How can I forget the case that almost took my Aunt's life but for God's grace..

AUNT NINI:The case is over

AUNT NINI :We won! As we speak Don Dada is probably having his first meal as an inmate

I could swear that it was my scream that brought Nuel out of his room. I was very excited. That case stressed out my darling Aunt like, it has been in for six whole months, several court hearings, numerous threats

In the end, We won!

We had fun till my stepmom returned. She also had some resumption goodies for us. I never had a cause to remember the woman was my stepmom. She took care of Nuel and her own before and After she had Drake and Daisy. I just hope and pray that no one casts an evil eye on our family

Two days later

ALEX's POV

I was preparing do school when I received an SMS. Dinner is compulsory tonight. See you at 7-------Mr Ejike.

Imagine a person I saw this morning on my way to mom's room sending me a text. Weird isn't it?. Well that's the healthiest means of communication in the Ejike villa especially between Mr Ejike and I.

Once done I picked up my bag pack and made for School. I glanced at the dining area and saw Mr Chinonsso Ejike having breakfast with his wife and beautiful daughter. Best Father ever liveth

I pecked my mum and sister goodbye and left them to enjoy they're breakfast. I flashed the chauffeur a smile and got into the car. We chatted throughout the journey.

Why was my mind constantly drifting towards that girl Ella I can't wait to see her today. I decided to use the elevator as I didn't want to walk up the stairs alone

I got in and was about to click 5 when another hand clicked 3. I opened my mouth to protest but she flashed what looked like an ID with the inscription "Esteemed Scholar" behind.

Is this what the Esteemed Scholar thing is all about

I took a proper look at her and she looked like a blend of masculine and feminist demeanor. Looking like the Vetiver girl but smelled like Lavender

Ella's POV

When I got to the classroom Jamal and Kira were already in the class discussing heartily. Kira was smiling and Jamal was saying something

Since when?

Wait! Is it me or the way they're looking at each other intently.

"Top of the morning guys." I finally decided to announce my presence

"Hey Ella! I thought you'd be late again." Kira whined

Does one day of being late makes me a perpetual latecomer?

"Good Morning Ella. Trust you had a restful night?"

Nice Save! This is an opportunity to ignore Kira

"Absolutely dearie. I had a very peaceful, restful and relaxing night and I have gathered enough energy to conquer today's stress especially from those that have labeled me as a latecomer." I winked at Ella

"Well let's pray you've gathered enough energy to put up with this troublemaker." I was startled by a voice from behind me.

That wasn't Kira's voice

I slowly turned around to confirm my suspicion and I was met with a face plastered with a grin. Yes she was the one.

"Tina darling. " I shook hands with her and gave her a slight pat on the back

" Tina!" I gave her a stem look "What tricks do you have up your sleeves this time around. First you resumed during the first school week which is veery unusual for you and now lavender scent.?"

"Would you at least allow me explain myself?" She sighed.

"Fine. Explain" Kira and I coincidentally chorused.

"About my resumption, it was a punishment for gluing my cousin's butt to the dining chair and the scent aspect was a comeback prank played on me by elder sister." Tina explained.

Bless her Daddy! Save for this punishment, Tina wouldn't mind resuming a day to exams.

" Ohhh welcome back to school baby Tina. "Kira said obviously trying to piss her off

"No stunts this session!" I warned

"I'll try. But you know I can't do without drama." Tina smirked before quickly adding "Not when I recently found for myself a prey."

"Just take it easy." I cooed
