To those who chose to flee the government and live without their Packs are called Rouges.
Amidst the chaos and violence, a young werewolf finds himself torn between his loyalty to his very own alpha and his growing doubts about the righteousness of the war. As he navigates the battlefield and confronts the harsh realities of war, he begins to question whether the cost of victory is worth the sacrifice.
And it is not.
"I want them dead," I ordered to one of my men.
My eyes were directly staring at the five Rouges who were now on their knees, weak and bleeding all over their bodies. In front of them lay my three men who have now lost their lives.
They killed three of my men, they killed my royal servants, I know they sought revenge. And I never thought today would be the day they would do it, but who wouldn't? It's hunting day, full moon where every Lycans are much stronger than a normal night.
Or there is worse but they haven't started yet.
'Aaron...'
My pupils dilated, I looked at my body and frowned when I saw that there was smoke coming out of me.
'Aaron...'
I heard the voice from my head, it was a woman voice. I closed my eyes for a few seconds and took a deep breath. It was not Vivienne's voice, the voice came from someone I had never heard before.
"Doesn't it seem like he acted too soon?" Theo asked as he scanned the Rouges in front of us. I looked at him and saw how he adjusted his round eyeglasses, looking up at me like an innocent little boy.
"There must be a reason why," I said and looked away.
I stuck the cigarette to my lips, sat down and put my right foot on the left side. I signaled them to take out and burn the dead bodies, which they immediately followed. The foul smell of the Rouges wafted throughout the hideout.
"It's been a long time, I wonder what that bastard looks like now."
I didn't say a word, I just leaned my back and closed my eyes slowly. The Lycan inside me is very exhausted, not because of the war between the two factions. It is exhausted by severe hunger.
A hunger for a mate.
It's been almost three hundred years, but until now, she's still not here. Should I blame that bastard for the loss and not reviving my mate? Of course, all my life, I will always blame him.
"Your sister is here," Theo pointed at the door.
I didn't move, I heard the footsteps of her shoes, I smelled blood from her. I opened my eyes until I saw her in front of me. Shaking, panting and there was blood splatter on her vixen face.
I growled.
"Speak." I commanded.
Her inked eyes stared at me with fear and panicked.
"We found something-- no, we found someone."
My head tilted.
"I want more information."
"She was being chased by the Rouges. We brought her even though there's something suspicious about her."
Transfixed, I removed the cigarette from my lips and pressed it between my fingers. I blew air and smoke came out of my mouth.
"Did you say 'her'?" I asked.
Vivienne gulped in so much fear.
"She was bitten, it's only a matter of time before she can die once she doesn't stop bleeding."
I stood up, without another word, I started walking away and Theo followed behind me. Before I disappeared from hee sight, she spoke again.
"She's not one of us, Aaron." She explained. I know Theo was surprised by that.
"She's what?" Theo exclaimed, he turned to Vivienne and I took a deep breath.
"A trespasser, she bombed the border. and I believe she is not alone, there are a lot of them, but she was the only one I found alive, the rest of them escaped. They were armored, the woman killed some Rouges."
I blinked and spoke.
"If she'll survive, we can use her against the Rouges," I looked at Vivienne. "Call the Pack's doctor, and make sure that she's gonna live."
"Yes, Alpha Aaron."
I quickly walked away, the hideout door opened and the very dark and hair raising forest greeted me. I looked up and saw how bright and round the moon was, I could hear loud howls.
"Too bad she's being hunted," I whispered.
"She's in the dungeon. Vivienne said they chained her, in case she escapes and has something to do."
I nodded as a response.
The stench of decay and dampness filled the air as I walked into the dungeon. The flickering torches on the walls cast eerie shadows that danced on the cold, stone floor. The sound of dripping water echoed through the dark, narrow corridor, and the only company we had were the rats scurrying in the shadows.
As we reached the end of the hallway, we came upon a heavy iron door. The rusted hinges creaked as one of my men pushed it open, revealing the darkness beyond. I stepped inside, and the door slammed shut behind me with a resounding clang.
"Are you expecting something from the captive, Aaron?"
"No." I looked around. "If my mate ever come back now, it won't be her. It will be from the higher."
We walked forward, the light from the torches flickering in the darkness. The chains rattled as I passed by, as if the tortured souls we once held were reaching out to me, begging for release.
As we reached the far corner of the room, I saw the source of the moaning-- a woman.
"It's her," Theo stopped me from approaching her.
Her hands were chained, she was on her knees and bowed. I could not see her face, but I could see her black curly long hair that almost exceeded her waist, she's slim and pale. She was wearing a black tight clothes, on the side of her thigh, there was a dagger attached as if it was her weapon to protect herself.
I stepped closer to her.
"Aaron, no." Theo tried to stop me.
"Look at me." I commanded.
The woman didn't move, I frowned when I smelled her. Her scent is light and airy, with subtle notes of jasmine and vanilla that blend together to create a warm, inviting aroma. It's a fragrance that lingers in the air, enveloping me in its gentle embrace.
Moonflower.
I felt my eyes suddenly glow, I quickly approached her. I tightly gripped her chin and made her look at me.
I gasped.
The woman has a heart shaped face, prominent brows, she has a round coffee eyes that seem to absorb me every time I look at her, the woman has a full pale lips, naturally long and curvy lashes that made her look like a living doll.
Pretty.
"Aaron, get away from her!" Vivienne shouted, she pulled me back but my eyes remained staring at the woman.
The woman glanced back, lifeless and expressionless. I blinked and stopped breathing for a moment, the wolf inside me roared. I blinked again and I saw visions from her eyes, her being my captive, her being with me, and her making a war between the two factions. I took a deep breath when I felt the strong beating of my chest.
"Mate." I muttered.
"What the fuck?!" Theo shouted loudly because of the shock.
Vivienne stopped and stared at me.
"Are you sure about that?" She asked but I ignored them.
I quickly approached the woman again. And for another time, gripped her chin tightly and made her look at me. I saw a tear come down from her eyes. I looked at her body, she had a wound on her arm, her clothes were also torn and I saw a scratch on her belly.
"What's your name?" I asked.
She didn't speak immediately, she opened her mouth but no words came out of it, as if she was struggling to speak. She tried to open her mouth again.
"E-Elizabeth... Elizabeth Wood." She answered with a soft voice.
"Elizabeth." I mused, her name rolled swiftly in my tongue.
I walked near her, violently pulled down her clothes on the right side, I was surprised to see a lot of blood, and I saw a deep bite.
"She's bitten by a Rouge." My sister, Vivienne said with a low voice behind me.
I shook my head.
"It was a bite with threat." I said with an emphatic and angry tone.
"What?"
I took a deep breath, I tried to calm myself down, I could feel the glow of my eyes and the threat of my fangs coming out but I am holding myself.
I looked at her, Elizabeth...
She's scared, I saw fear in her eyes as tears continued to roll down to her cheeks. Her face screamed pain and pleaded.
"I want to get rid of that scent and poison from her."
Before they could stop me, I completely tore Elizabeth's clothes, my mouth opened and my sharp fangs came out.
I bit her left shoulder, her blood dripped from there and she screamed in so much pain, I tightly held her waist, I could hardly control myself especially when I could taste her sweet blood, together with the bitterness of her blood that has mixed with the one who bit her before me.
"Stop!" She screamed so loud, she was trying to get away from me but she couldn't.
I held her soft skin so tightly that I almost didn't want to let her go. Her earlier shouting was replaced by crying.
"Aaron, that's enough!" Vivienne pulled me hard, I sprang and my back hit the wall.
I breathe heavily, licked my lips feeling the blood she left on my skin.
"What did you do?!" My sister screamed angrily at me.
I looked at the woman who was chained, blood came out of her mouth, now her lips and chin were filled with the red sticky substance, she became even more pale, she bowed down, I made her so weak.
I just realized what I did.
I stood up and wiped my mouth, I looked away and before leaving, I spoke first.
"Heal her, and make sure she lives. Keep her alive," I turned my back on them. "She can't die, not yet."
"But, what are your plans after this?"
I looked up and I gulped a few times. I took a deep breath before answering her question.
"I'll make her my pet, I'll make her follow my orders, I'll use her to get those Rouges."
