"You sure look like an angry child more than the bride they dressed you up to be." Alpha Alden said as they got into the car. Carlotta and vanda stood on the porch of the house, waving them goodbye as the car jerked into action.
"For a sharp mouthed wench, you're extremely quiet today. Are you surprised?" Alden asked, bringing his face an inch closer to hers as she moved away. Her eyes locked with his for a moment as he chuckled.
"You're not as brave as I thought you were, so it was just a facade?"
"For a man, you talk too much." She fired and looked out of the window, wondering how her life had turned out to be like this.
Allan couldn't hold back the laughter as he let it out, but stopped the minute he noticed Alden looking at him. The car stopped in front of the huge mansion with several guards lining the entrance.
Melissa's eyes danced around the environment as she realized how different it was from her house. As they got out of the car, a blonde lady walked out of the house, banging the door in the process.
"You left before I woke up....." she stopped her statement as her eyes traveled to Melissa. "Who's she?" Melissa could feel the heat radiating from the lady.
The energy between them was already bad despite meeting each other for the first time.
"This is Melissa Jones,my wife." He announced as the lady gasped.
"What do you mean your wife? When did you get married and__" her eyes moved to their fingers as she moved backwards.
"Why?" She asked calmly.
"Laura, stop the questioning. We'll talk when we get in. For now, my wife needs to settle in."
Melissa watched the scene unfold before her as she wondered who the lady was.
"I thought you said you had businesses to do. Are you the one to settle me in?" She asked, looking into Alden's eyes.
"Allan, can you explain what's happening? Who is she? I really need to know. Oh, I'm going to go crazy. I'm going to lose it." Laura screamed.
Just then, Alicia walked out of the house, and as her eyes locked with that of Melissa, she smiled.
"Laura, come on, let's go in. Do not create a scene in front of our guests."
"Point of correction Alicia, she's not a guest, she's my wife and in the next few days she'll be transforming into a full-blown wolf. So she's part of us from now on."Alden said, leading Melissa into the house.
"Can you tell me who she is? I'm very sure he made a mistake calling her his wife,it cannot be possible I mean __"
"He's not wrong and he didn't make a mistake, she's his wife though she hasn't transformed." Laura laughed and shook her head. "He got himself a wolf less girl?" Laura asked as they made their way into the house.
"He shouldn't hear that from you, you're his friend and should support whatever decision he makes."
"Of course, just right." Laura mused, stamping her feet as she stormed away.
**********
Alden led Melissa into a beautiful spacious room and from the designs on the walls, the colour of the bedroom she could tell it was his bedroom. Her heart began to race as she stopped walking all of a sudden.
"Don't tell me we have to share a bedroom." She said.
"You're ridiculous, your parents don't they sleep in the same room and on the same bed?" He asked, his eyes twinkling with mischief.
"Well they are married and__" his eyes locked with hers and she realized she'd just said gibberish.
"I'm glad you realized what you just said. Get comfortable, you'll be attended to. For now I have a very important meeting, I'll be back at night." He walked over to the door and stepped out.
As Alden walked into his office,he met Laura standing next to the window, her hands folded under her breasts and her shoulder looked tensed.
"What's wrong Laura?" He asked, coming to join her in standing.
"You disregarded what we have between us." She said lowly.
"What do you mean I disregarded what we have? Wasn't I supposed to get married?" Alden asked.
"Of course, you're supposed to get married, but you know that's not what I implied. We have something going on between us. And you didn't say the need to tell me this vital information before going ahead with it."
"This is not an issue for discussion. Let's let it slide, please." he said as she nodded, closing her eyes.
"Of course, my feelings does not mean anything to you. Yeah, I know we decided to go into that affair saying we won't let any strings attached. But you know I let it down. I let my guard down."
"I let my guard down, and the only thing you could have told me is... The only thing you could have done is informing me before going ahead with this. Not coming to shatter my ass into pieces."
"I would really appreciate it if you respect my decision and do not interfere. Please."
She scoffed and shook her head. "Of course, I had the offer and I have to respect the decision." she said and walked over to the door but stopped and looked at him.
"I totally understand, but know this, my feelings for you can never change, and I'm ready to fight tooth and nail, till you are mine." With that, she walked out of his office.
He shook his head, closed his eyes, sighing loudly as he sat on his chair. Just then, Allan walked in.
"Let me guess, she's not ready to back down. Is she?" Allan asked. with a smile on his face.
"She has to back down,I was never hers from the beginning besides this marriage is just for show and you know it,she doesn't have to get worked up."
"She'll fight tooth and nail, that's what she said." Alden said, closing his eyes.
