He has yet to make a move on me, yet we have been together a few years now. It's as if he wants to impress my parents more than me. I need something more. I don't know what that is yet. I was meeting my best friend Clara at the coffee shop on campus because I needed some girl time.
She was running late so I just sat there looking around at everyone. I saw couples holding hands and looking happy to be together. I wanted what they had. I knew I would never have that with Aiden no matter how hard I tried. I heard someone sit down so I looked up thinking it was Cara.
"Hey sorry to bug you but your friend Clara wanted to let you know she can't make it."
"Um okay, and who are you?" I asked.
"Oh, sorry I'm Bryce I am Clara's cousin. My family just got into town, so she must do the whole family thing."
"So why aren't you there then?"
"I don't do family plus I wanted to check out campus since I will be starting here next week."
I wondered why Clara didn't say anything to me about her cousin. I also wonder why she didn't just send me a text saying she couldn't make it. I looked at my phone and saw she had sent me a message. If she did that then why did she also send her cousin here?
"Why did she send you, a guy I don't even know after texting me telling me she couldn't make it?"
"Ok, you got me she didn't send me. I saw a picture of you in her room, so I knew what you looked like. I came here to get some coffee, and when I saw you, I thought hell why not."
I finally took a good look at him. He was built and had a scruffy face from not shaving. I could see a few tattoos peeking out from his shirt. This man was sex on a stick. He was bad with a capital B. The type of guy my parents warned me about.
"Well since you're here, and you went through so much trouble to meet me why don't you stay and have coffee with me," I asked him.
"Sure, beautiful I got nothing else to do so for now I am all yours."
He was cocky, and normally I would not want to be anywhere near a guy like that, yet I was intrigued. He excited me. We sat and talked about everything. He told me the reason his family moved here was because his dad left. He looked like a bad boy, yet he was so loving and sweet.
We talked for what only felt like minutes, yet it had been hours. They were closing the coffee shop by the time we left. He asked if I would like to go for a walk and I heard myself saying yes. I didn't want this night to end. I completely forgot about my date with Aiden. I forgot about everything when I was with Bryce. It was just him and I. He was what I have been missing. But can I give up what I have with Aiden? He would give me a future, stability, and maybe love. All Bryce would give me is well I don't even know. He doesn't seem like the forever type. He's more in the moment...
