Chapter 4 The last of the val-leros

Nala's point of view

I ran towards Cypher's direction and passed him. He started shooting at the two vampires behind me. But no arrows got to them. Shira tried to grab me, and I jumped down, and she grabbed a man in front of me. She deepens her fangs into his neck, while still in the air. The man screamed, and was dropped to death.

Suddenly, the sun was rising and there was no sign of vampires. Cypher paused and looked around.

Everyone came out from their hiding places.

It's the sun, I said.

John was still on the floor hiding, while Cypher was alert. Some villagers opened their windows. Cypher heard a sound from the well behind him and got closer. I followed. We both stared inside the well to check if there were any vampires inside.

But we didn't see anything or hear a sound. Suddenly, clouds covered the sun, and Sarafina jumped out of the well and grabbed me. I pushed Cypher to the ground accidentally.

Do you like to fly? Sarafina asked as she grabbed my hands and was laughing scarily. Cypher got up and pointed his arrow towards her but couldn't shoot. I took out my dagger and cut Sarafina's leg, she tossed me over to Rebecca in the air, and she caught and grabbed me.

Cypher sets his arrows again and shoots Rebecca's wings. She screamed and dropped me on top of the roof of a building. I couldn't hold on to anything and rolled off the building, and I got stuck at the edge of the roof.

Sarafina was flying in my direction to catch me, then I slipped back and landed on a tree branch, holding the branch with one hand, and jumped to the ground. Sarafina was close to catching me, but Cypher kept shooting his arrows severely and gave Sarafina holes in her body.

She landed and broke inside the building where I was hiding. I heard the sound and quickly locked the door.

Hello Nala, Sarafina said, bent upside down inside the room. I was frightened and couldn't say anything. She jumps down and transforms back to human form.

Nice to see you too, Sarafina.

Cypher was curious and came close to the building, pointing his arrows. Suddenly Rebecca rushed out of the building and pushed him down. He was lying like a vegetable, and turned around to watch her movements.

Rebecca and Shira were standing on a dwarf fence, staring at Cypher and taking out the arrows on their bodies. They both transformed back to human forms. Cypher stared closely at them and got up.

Back in the room with Sarafina.

Did I do something to you in our past life? I asked and ran to open the door.

Don't play coy with me, princess, I know it hurts in your dearest heart. Sarafina said.

I hope you have a heart, Sarafina, because someday I'm going to drive a stick through it. She Hit me so hard that I broke the window and fell to the ground.

This should do the trick. John yelled holy water and threw it in the air. Rebecca grabbed it instantly and flew up.

Come sister, let's finish him, Shira said.

Too bad, Rebecca said while smiling at Cypher.

The church! John screamed as he pointed at a tap that was dropping some holy water. Cypher turned around and looked towards the direction John pointed in.

Rebecca smiled at Cypher again and pulled out her fangs.

I was inside another building, running away from Sarafina. I paused immediately when I saw Sarafina sipping a cup of blood.

30 years old, a perfect age. Sarafina said.

Shira appeared right behind me. Hello, Nala my dear, Shira said. I quickly turned around, I was being surrounded by the two vampires, and they walked towards me and I stepped backwards.

The last of the Val-Leros! They both said.

I tried to hit Shira, but she dragged my hand, they brought me down to the ground and were ready to deepen their fangs into my neck. I can feel fresh blood rushing through her veins! Shira said.

I want the first bite! Sarafina said as they both pulled out their fangs.

Rebecca attacked Cypher and pushed him into a barnyard. She flew high with a burst of scary laughter, and he was down staring at his bowl.

Here she comes! John said as Rebecca flew very fast in Cypher's direction.

He was running to the church to tap some holy water in his bow. Rebecca was already close to him. He tapped his bowl into it and turned around to shoot. He shot her right in her chest severely. She screamed.

Sarafina and Shira both felt it and yelled immediately, because one of them was killed. Rebecca landed on the roof of a building, Shira and Sarafina roared and couldn't get close to me. They both transformed back and flew off through the windows.

Rebecca's body was decomposing, she screamed and vanished. Cypher picked up his hat and sat on the stairs. John turned around, stared at the cow beside him, and walked close to Cypher.

The whole people of the city came out and yelled at Cypher! He killed a vampire! He killed a vampire!

But he had done a good thing. John said. Vampires only kill when they need to survive, now they will kill for revenge! Lenoy yelled.

The people kept yelling at both of them. The crowd is getting bigger. John said.

They'll watch. Cypher responded.

So what name, my good sir, do I curve on your grave? Thou! Lenoy asked.

His name is Cypher Helson! I said, and everyone stared at me. Your reputation precedes you.

Cypher got up and smiled.

Next time stay close, you're not good at being dead. He said, and I smiled.

Well, I'll say this to you, you've got courage. He is the first one to kill a vampire in over a hundred years! I think I will serve him a drink. I said, staring into Cypher's eyes.
