Chapter 4 Four

CHAPTER FOUR

Daniel's POV

The person standing in front of me was a total stranger.....a very good looking one at that but I was confused as to why she was here.

"Are you looking for someone?" I asked.

"Yes, his name is Daniel and I think he stays here."

"I'm Daniel, how may I help you?"

"I'll explain if you let me in." She replied.

After a thorough thought of what could go wrong, I let her in.

"I thought you said you weren't expecting anyone?" Gideon asked.

"I wasn't."

"You know I can hear you guys right?" The girl, whose name I still don't know, said.

"We're well aware, and you can start talking because we were in the middle of something important." Jason said, talking about the food.

"My name is Isabella, but you can call me Bella." She started.

She went on to explain how her parents or was it grandparents who founded the school and it started to make sense how she knew my name and where I stay even without knowing me.

"Makes sense. Nice to meet you Isabella." I greeted.

She put on a small frown when I called her Isabella but I pretended not to notice to avoid unnecessary conversations.

Gideon and Jason also introduced themselves before rushing back to the kitchen.

"Don't mind them, they're foodies." I whispered not too quietly.

"We can hear you." Jason yelled from the kitchen.

"You were meant to."

Isabella didn't go immediately, she claimed she wanted to get to know us better and that we'd be her new friends which Gideon scoffed at before going to talk to Anita.

When it was time for her to go, I wouldn't say I didn't enjoy her company because I did. She was actually fun to be with even Jason admitted she wasn't that bad but Gideon preferred talking to Anita who he saw minutes ago.

My parents were excited when I told them I was getting along with Isabella.....who by the way, still doesn't like the way I call her by her full name.

Days flew by, and we all got along with her except Gideon though he was polite to her and he wasn't always himself whenever she was around and it kind of bothered me.

"Are you sure you're fine?" I asked Gideon.

"I am, why are you asking?"

"Nothing, you seem off."

"I'm okay."

Anita was excited to have another female in the group and it wasn't all that bad. The two girls kept on talking about something that I wasn't paying attention to because I was chatting with pumpkin who was telling me about a new student they have and about their new teacher who everyone thought was hot.

"What do you think about him?" I asked her.

"Well, I think he's cute and besides he's a great teacher just young."

"Too bad he's your teacher huh?" I teased.

"A young one too, but I'm all yours." She replied, which made me smile.

"And don't you forget that."

"Danielll....." Isabella's whining brought me back to reality.

"Sorry, did you say something?"

"I asked if you'll be free tomorrow." She repeated.

"We're visiting someone." Gideon answered for me.

Knowing we didn't make any plans to visit anyone, I looked over to him but he didn't meet my eye.

"Yea, we planned to visit someone." I said.

"Okay, maybe next time then." She grumbled.

When Isabella finally left with Anita, I turned to face Gideon and Jason did the same, he must have noticed what was going on too.

"Why are you guys looking at me?" He asked, before adding "I'm kinda sleepy so I'll go to my room."

"What the fuck is going on, you know clearly we don't have anywhere to be tomorrow so why did you say we do?" I asked.

"I don't know, why don't you tell me since I can't decide to hang out with my best friend's anymore."

"That's bullshit and you know that." Jason said.

"Gideon....." I drawled.

"Fine, I don't just want you to be heartbroken again, the last time you were, do I need to remind you of the hell you went through?"

"She's just a friend, and I love Vee too much to cheat on her."

"Okay then, you can call Isabella and tell her you're free tomorrow......and it's not you I don't trust." He finished.

Gideon plugged his ears meaning he was done with the conversation, Jason looked at me and I shrugged because I understood what Gideon was going on about.

When Vee ended things with me the first time, I wasn't myself and I cried a lot but I don't think Isabella likes me probably she did but just as a friend.

I don't think there's anything to be worried about but I'll just try to convince Gideon, though it'll be hard because he can be stubborn when he wants to be.

Jason didn't say anything and I felt like he was processing what Gideon said while I brought out my phone to continue talking to my girlfriend.

"So, I'm not saying Gideon is right but I'd also like that you're careful around her. Don't get me wrong, she's a nice girl but Tessa was one too." Jason said.

"Of course, thank you and Vee sent her regards."

"I'll call her."

"Why would you call my girlfriend?" I joked.

Instead of replying, he just shrugged and said why not.

I know where Gideon was coming from and I don't blame him but I also think Isabella is a great person even though we just met.

Pushing the thought of Isabella far away from mind, I focused on the movie Gideon was playing on his system.

"You know you will have to talk to me sooner or later right?" I said.

Jason had gone to the room, leaving Gideon, who wouldn't talk to me and I alone in the sitting room.

"I'll prefer later."

"Come on, I'm sorry, I'll hang out with you and Jason tomorrow and I promise to be careful too."

"You don't get it, do you?" He asked quietly.

"What are you talking about?"

"Isabella, the way she looks at you, I might be wrong but I don't want you to get hurt again."

Gideon was never the one to get all emotional and show what he feels, so this happens once a while.

"I know, I'll be careful, and I'll let her know I have a girlfriend, is that okay?"

He nodded gently before removing his earphones so we could both hear what was being said.

"Thank you."

I loved and cared about my friends and they also cared about me. I was grateful for them even though I don't tell them all the time but I made sure to show them.

We'll all be fine, and I'll make sure Isabella doesn't come between us.
