I reached her doorstep and pushed on the door, it wasn't locked. So much security for a murderer I thought as I scoffed. I didn't enter though, I stayed and stared at the welcome mat placed on the front pouch.
She came towards the door, I knew cause I could see her. She was dead gorgeous up close!
"I..God...You know about..you saw...it was a mistake! For crying out loud! A mistake!" She cried out like a baby learning to speak.
I entered her house without any more invitations.
"I saw what you did that night! you could see it in the pictures, there weren't any security cameras for the police to know about this, I cleared the scene for you! You owe me!" I said, grabbing her arm. It was more to feel her soft body, but the grab came out stronger than I intended.
She whimpered and cried, and I didn't know a girl's cry could make one hard. I gritted my teeth. She felt so helpless, so weak.
"Sign it"
She was about to sign it when he looked up and shot me a look, the type of look I always gave my worker.
"On one condition," she said, her voice weak.
I laughed, and I was sure the laugh sent chills down her spine, my laugh was a killer. "Do murderers have a choice?" I said trying to scare her into signing it right away. But she was hell-bent on saying her mind. I made a mental note at the back of my head. Stubborn!
"Okay, how much!?" I said, sure that she had seen the car I came out from. All girls ever wanted was money, money money!
But the look of disgust was unmistakable.
"What? You think I can't afford your price?" I asked trying to understand this strange girl, no girl had ever given me that look, at least not to my face.
"It's everything about money to you?" She asked, and I found myself almost rolling with laughter.
"Of course it is, I could buy everything with money, so, Yes! Everything has to be about it!" I replied sternly trying to show this little girl her place.
"Well, my request is clearly not related to money, or whatever your mentality is telling you." She said trying to act tough, but I could see right through her.
"What could that be?" I asked
"You won't ever touch me!" She said and gulped, she spoke as if the words were heavy in her mouth. "You won't have any rights over my body, No sex involved, I won't bear any child for you!" She blurted to my face.
I felt irritated, "Who told you I wanted to get involved with you in any way, sign this, you're wasting my time!"
"Say it, say we won't get involved!" And I wondered how strength had entered her once weak voice.
"Alright, no sexual involvement, there, you have it, now sign" I shot back, a little bit sad because I thought I might have gotten the opportunity to taste her just once, even in a confused, vulnerable state, she looked damn hot! But being my wife and getting my mum off my back was still a win. I knew I was a man of my word and I was never going to back on my promise! I couldn't help but wonder why a beautiful damsel didn't want a taste of me. I knew I was a fire in bed, I knew how to satisfy a woman. Well it was clearly her loss, not mine, I thought as I bit my tongue
Before she signed it she looked up, what again!
"I..I should at least know the name of the person I'm getting married to" she said, looking intently at me, I shifted, moving my legs to try to release a little tension from my groin.
"Alex, Alex Ryder". I replied to her.
She signed the contract, selling herself to me for three years. It was done, I heaved a sigh of relief as I thought of how to break the news to my mother, wondering if she would buy it. I took the letter and turned to leave, whispering to her, "I'll get in touch with you, and one more thing, keep this secret to yourself and yourself alone!"
Zoe's POV
As the stranger turned to leave, a chill shivered my whole body, buckling my knees, I held onto the door. What the fuck had just happened! All my life I've never had a thought of marrying someone I had just met! I knew I wasn't the type of girl to dream about a rosy wedding and family, but never had I thought my fate would take this part.
Curse girl's night!!! I thought.
I walked to the wine bar, not even looking at the wine I was picking, I just wanted to feel wasted, like the next three years of my life!
I downed the whole bottle, and soon, I felt gentle pushes on my back. I didn't know if I had dozed off, or how long I had slept. My sister, Sarah was back, and it was already dark. "Zoe take a grip! What is wrong with you? You want to take your life from alcohol poisoning!? Huh?" My sister scolded me.
I couldn't even believe the events of today, a handsome stranger, smelt rich, trapping me for three years in a marriage! Until I saw the envelope on the table, and the reality hit me.
Secret or not, I let my sister in, not leaving behind anything, she was my support system. She deliberated for a while, and before the night was over, we had made some discoveries.
Alex was a well-known ruthless billionaire, always money-minded, never seen in a scandal with any woman. A 35-year single billionaire!
A week passed, and I was warmly accepted into Alex's family, his mum was most welcoming. I was asked to move in, and I did, resigned from my workplace, knowing I was going to be the billionaire's fake wife for three years.
I stepped into the grand wedding hall, my eyes widened in astonishment. Alex must have splurged millions into this, a fake wedding at that! It was crazy. I was the envy of all single and married, even some male. But I would have traded anything to have my old life back. Real or not, I was the epitome of beauty at that very moment, walking down the aisle with my wedding gown sent from Paris! My eyes drifted down to the guests we were fooling, and I felt a pang of guilt scorch my throat. I felt so conscious, that I almost forgot how to walk.
After exchanging vows, it was time to exchange a kiss, sealing our agreement! Alex stared at me and lifted his hands to my face, it pricked. He took a step closer and whispered "This would hurt a little" a devilish smile playing on his face. And with the guests cheering, his lips enclosed mine, his warmth mixing with mine, and I wondered what my heartbeat was doing in my core, a liquid seeping out.
