Chapter 5 His fascination

No one has ever dared to look at him with that sharp gaze and annoyed expression-he is used to people praising him and glorifying his beauty so meeting Gabrielle was a whole culture shock for him.

Gabrielle slammed the food on the table and sighed in a manner that Randall disliked. Her brows frowned and she stamped on the floor on her way out.

"Sit." Randall, who felt like his ego had been crushed into pieces, ordered Gabrielle around.

Gabrielle stopped moving and looked behind her with a sarcastic smile. She'd be glad if only Clara did not send her to the wolf's den. It was like making the perfect suicide escape.

"I'm sorry, but I do not work to fend on your lustful desire, sir." Gabrielle boldly said and smiled. She bowed her head and took a step backward, "I'll be taking my leave now, enjoy."

Randall watched the woman turn her back on him and felt like his pride was being stomped on. His eyes darkened and he lost interest in the women playing with him.

"Leave." His voice tinged in every person's ear inside the room.

"But why-"

"I said leave! Or I'll drive you out." Randall glared at them.

They were fast enough to leave the place. Terrified that Randall might get annoyed if they did not do whatever he asked them to do.

Carl sighed. "You aren't used to women treating you that bad, aren't you?" There was a sarcastically mocking laugh that escaped his mouth. "That girl... she might just be the first."

Randall bit his lips as he restrained himself. He loosened his tie and leaned on the chair, "Call the girl."

There was some sort of tension inside the room as he ordered Carl to grab Gabrielle from her stand. She continued to do her job, serving tables, but Randall was determined to get her to sit beside him.

It was like the desperation in his body was already escaping. He'll buy the girl, however much she would cost.

"I'd say we cannot do that. That girl, she doesn't work as a comforter." Carl laughed as he chugged on the wine in front of him.

"What do you mean? I'd buy anything I would like. Her soul... doesn't look like it cost millions." Randall claimed.

"Alright. If you want some play time, you should go get her yourself." Carl was bold enough to make such a statement.

Randall felt like a joke. He stood up and went straight to the door, searching for the woman.

What met his eyes was a crowd of women dancing on some pole, and red surroundings born from the lights.

He felt sober, even if he already consumed enough alcohol to keep his eyes shut.

"Chug! Chug! Chug!" Noisy men captured his attention. He turned his gaze at them, annoyed.

There, he saw a familiar face drinking a glass of beer with eyes closed, and people cheering for her.

"How can she drink that much with multiple men and hate to sit beside me?" Randall felt ridiculous as he weighed things. He did not understand why Gabrielle would choose to be wasted surrounded by what he perceived as predators.

"Yes, that's right... drink it." Another man, looking like he's got a wife and four kids, ran his hands on Gabrielle's back.

It enraged the fumes inside Randall's heart. He cannot believe what he is seeing, he is smitten by it.

His fists clenched as he walked straight up to the place. He tapped the man's hands and smiled widely, "Put your dirty hands off of her."

Randall wants to punch the man, but he does not want to show interest in him.

"Who the fuck are you to order me around?" The old man said, pulling the wasted Gabrielle close to him. He grabbed her by her waist which made Randall more furious.

"Let go." He whispered in the air, running out of patience. He could break his skull right now if he desires, or if he gave in with his intrusive thoughts.

Someone, sane enough, whispered something in the old man's ears. He finally let Gabrielle go and his expression softened, indicating that he finally recognized the man standing in front of him.

He gulped like there was a lump in his throat. His head bowed down, signaling that he knew where he belonged.

He let Gabrielle go and did not speak a single word. Randall was quick enough to catch her before she kissed the floor, she seemed weak.

The arrogance was gone, Gabrielle could not even lift a finger. Randall thought, maybe it was all a show. But who cares? She might use some help from him.

He carried Gabrielle in a bridal style. His hands touched the woman's skin and he felt electricity flowing through his veins. The sexual tension between them grew deeper, it made him feel this burning hot sensation that he had never felt with anyone else.

He went back to the room and Carl was left with an awe of expression. He never knew Randall would be able to get what he wanted this time.

"Did you put her into sedation?" Carl blurted out. He laughed as he made the joke which made Randall's eyes darkened.

"Thugs grouped to make her drunk. She's lucky I was there." Randall gently placed Gabrielle on the couch and made her comfortable as she slept.

Carl's eyes widened. How can the billionaire grow a soft spot for someone he had just met?

"So are you saying you saved her from the potential harm?" Carl tried to clear that out.

"Yeah, you can kind of say that." Randall simply puts an end to the growing argument and malice that Carl is starting to make.

Even he could not believe what he had just done. You see, normally, he'd walk past it and just ignore everything. He'll turn a blind eye acting like a selfish jerk who cares about nothing but his own business.

Randall sipped a taste of the whiskey when suddenly, she felt Gabrielle's hands snatching it. He just let her do as and watched her expression bittered when the neat whiskey touched her tongue.

It was amusing for Randall. No one has ever dared disrespect his space and privacy that way and he had just grown attracted to the drunk woman sitting beside him.

"What must be the problem that you're drinking?" The look of concern in his eyes started to appear. Something strange, the igniting feeling that he had buried ever since he was born.

Gabrielle stared at him with those gloomy eyes, and he felt sympathy for the first time. His heart beats faster and he knows he's doomed and there is no way out.
