Chapter 4 Finding a way home

Ember POV

" Alpha Paris, I Ember Mason, rejected you as my mate!".

That was the day when I woke up to my senses. After all the miseries and betrayal, I finally realized why I waited for five years to open my eyes to how they treated me inside the mansion.

I felt exhausted from yesterday's incident. When my cousin Axl dropped me off at the mansion, I suddenly fell asleep as my body touched the soft mattress of my bed.

My eyes peeled open after I sensed a familiar scent beside me.

" Mmmmm..", I softly muttered while trying to get up on my own.

" Finally, you get back to your senses, Ember. I'm always praying to the Goddess Luna that she will guide your feet back to us, your family!", My father stated.

I wasn't born under Omega packs. My father is an Alpha of the Blood Moon Packs. The truth is I am Ember Mason, the one and only daughter of Alpha King Henry Mason and an heiress, both in the werewolf and human world.

I bowed my head and asked for his forgiveness.

" I'm sorry, Father! I should have listened to you in the first place but --- but I chose Paris over you!", My voice cracks the seconds I talked. My face moistened with my tears.

I felt my father's arms pressing my shoulders with much care and sympathy. I thought he would get mad at me after leaving him alone but he didn't disregard me the way Paris did when he found Kate, her fated mate.

" It's okay my princess. Cry all you want. After that, promise me to not let anyone hurt you anymore. You must hold your head up because you my daughter, the Princess of Mason Clan!", He sternly told me and I slowly raised my head and met my father's gaze.

"I didn't have a chance to tell everyone about my daughter. Now that If I know that you were mistreated and betrayed, I will do everything in my Alpha power to punish people who hurt my princess. "

I gritted my teeth and only our gazed can tell what's on our minds.

Dad told me that the pack's soldiers and our families were excited to see me. They heard that I came back after five years of hiatus and I felt the same too but I'm a bit ashamed to face them because I left as a stubborn young and naive girl who fell in love with a guy that wasn't her mate. I want to apologize to them, especially my cousin Axl. I did something horrible to him the that I sneak out from the mansion to run away.

I hear laughter and whispering right in my ears downstairs. I almost forget that I'm the Alpha's daughter because I was dedicated my whole life being a housewife of five years to my husband Alpha Paris and I even neglected my Luna powers. Even if it's very far away, I can hear them just like they're talking right in front of me.

I took a peek before going downstairs and I saw everyone. All my Aunts, Uncleuncles cousins were gathered together in the living room. I saw in their faces the hathatexcitement, and pity at the same time. I couldn't blame them for hating me because what I did five years ago was unforgivable.

I cleared my throat when they didn't me.

" Oh, my! Ember, is that you?". My cousin Dalia was the first to notice me.

Dalia was Axl's little sister and the more talkative cousin I ever met but she's kind and can keep secrets. She immediately jumped towards me and offered me a big hug.

"Yeah. Hmm, can you let go of me, now?". I told her when she wouldn't take off her hands from me.

" Woah, we can't believe that the runaway princess has finally home!". I shifted my eyes and it was Lance, my dear second cousin, who always nagged me to be his mate for a time being since he hadn't found his fated mate which I find gross.

I simply set a little smile on my face.

I was surprised when my Aunt Dory walked closer and happily wrapped her arms around me. , she's my father's sister.

" Oh, our dear Ember, we all miss you! I couldn't believe that you were now in front of us. I thought my brother Henry was bluffing. How did he find you, my dear niece?", She asked me while caressing my face.

I was about to answer her when my dad suddenly appeared and shot back instead.

" I didn't look for her, sis. It's Ember who came back here. Her heartless husband cheated on her after finding his fated mate!".

My eyes widened to learn that my father knew the reason why I came back. I haven't told Axl about what happened at the hospital. I only told him that I wanted to file a divorce paper with Paris because I didn't love him anymore. I couldn't believe that my father knew the reason why I rejected him.

Axl came and rushed towards me. He looks disappointed.

" Sis, is that true? Did Uncle Henry tell the truth that Paris cheated on you? How dare he? After all that you did to me----", he stopped when I sharpened my gaze on him.

All of my relatives and cousins asked Axl.

" You want to tell something, Axl?".

I warned him not to spill our little secrets. I took a deep breath and distracted them before my cousin replied.

" Can we just sit down and do some little chats? I mean, I left this house for five years. I cut all my contacts to all of you and even dared to cut ties with my father." I softly said while looking at my father.

I know that he despised me the day I left. I even chose Paris over my crown as the pack's princess. I wonder why he's not mad at me. Did he mean it when he told me that he was very happy that came back? I don't have a face to talk to him or even see him but why did he not resent me?

All of them came closer and placed their hands on my shoulders. I can feel their energy running through my veins. I can hear their heartbeats and I can even picture out what they're thinking. It's me. It's the power I possessed that I kept hidden for long years.

" I think there's no need for us to tell you what we feel or what was on our minds right, princess?", Lance said as they all stared at me.

I know it all. I can sense all of it. My throat was stuck. I barely hear my voice. Pure tears suddenly fell down my cheeks. I am crying because my family didn't abandon me even though I chose Paris over them.

An hour later...

My father prepared a lovely dinner for my appearance. He called it a reunion family dinner.

" Wow, everything smells good!". Aunt Dory's only daughter Lira exclaimed.

Lira was the same age as me. We were so close back then but she turned cold after meeting her today. I was thinking that maybe, she's mad because I haven't told her about my plan.

She only glances at me so when she excused herself at the dining table, I follow her. She went to the restroom.

" Are you mad at me, Lira?", I asked her after closing the bathroom door behind me.

She finally turned around and cried out.

" Ember, I thought you were dead. You lied to me about running away, why? You know that I couldn't have a good sleep since the day you left this house? Even Uncle Henry too! I'm sorry, I just miss you!".

She said as she covered her face. I went closer and hugged her.

" I'm sorry, Lira. Now I'm here. I won't go anywhere anymore. I promise!", I told her and I felt relieved that she was not mad at me.

We both came out and went back to the dining table.

Father Henry started the dinner celebration with a toast of welcoming me.

" Everyone, let's all welcome back my one and only daughter, Princess Ember!", He said and all of them cheered for me.

I saw in my eyes how happy and grateful they were to see me again. I felt glad that I had a hadly who always was there by my side even when I chose gh to be selfish back then.

" For Ember!".

All of them shouted during the toast. I finally realized that this was family what feels like.

We started eating and just like what we normally do during dinner, Father opened a topic for us to discuss and I was surprised after he revealed to us what was it.

" I want to hold a grand banquet to tell everyone that the princess is back!".
